Hodell's Cake Shop

I needed a cake on short notice. I called the store to see if they had a banana cake, because they are amazing. They said that they did and they asked if I wanted a message written on the top. I had them put a small greening on the top. When I showed up, the woman behind the counter said that the Baker had gone above and beyond and that she hoped I didn't mind. When I looked at the cake, I was thoroughly satisfied. They are not a fancy bakery, looking at them. But their products are delicious. Everyone at the party was so excited when they saw where the cake was from.

Hodell's cakes are second to none. Staff is very friendly and friendly. Great cakes for all occasions. The cherry walnut has been a favorite for many years.

Excellent cake shop. I ordered a birthday cake and the white cake was perfect. Very soft, not crumbly, really good flavor. I also got a custard filling and a raspberry sauce inside. Fantastic pricing, this will be where I go for all my cakes!I want to add that I tried a different bakery last year because I procrastinated and it wasn't as good as this one! :( They were more expensive and the cake wasn't as good!Next time I'll come back here and stick with cakes I know are good! Highly recommend.

Great experience from the start. I had to order a birthday cake for my mom in St Clair Shores -- but I'm in LA. My aunt suggested I try Hodell's, but had never had their cakes before. From the phone call, the sales rep was very helpful, super nice and was patient with me ordering site unseen. That was MUCH appreciated. My mom picked up her cake for her party -- no problems at all. Cake was ready, no confusion on if it was already paid for, etc. The next day was her party and she said that EVERYONE loved the white cake with lemon flavoring. In fact, my mom said it was the best, most delicious cake she has ever had. She said it was so light and the frosting was perfect (she is definitely a pro when it comes to frosting flavors) and she said that the lemon was perfect! She would recommend the bakery to anyone and she gave it a 5 star review! I really appreciate how easy it was to order remotely and make the entire process seamless. I am very grateful that the cake was delicious! We will definitely order again!

Always a pleasure to go to Hodell's. I've ordered cookie trays, pastry trays for funerals and cupcakes for parties. Never had a problem. Their coffee cakes are a lovely treat to take to a friend's house and I love their carrot cake!!! A wonderful local place to stop in for treats!!

My mother-in-law worked at Hodell's when they were in Detroit (Cadieux and Harper area) it was so good to see they are still in business. I ordered a birthday cake and it was the best. Trust me you will not be sorry buying any cakes from Hodell's.

Had them make a anniversary cake for my parents 60th and everyone raved about the taste, price was very reasonable and I can truly say that we've now tried numerous pastries and bread and all have been great quality....will be back to spend more money soon
