Hillside Hearth Bakery

People in my community have been raving about this bakery, so I had to try it! I was warmly welcomed! There are an abundance of delicious looking cookies, pastries, scones, and breads on display. They also have soup and sandwiches on their menu. I took my order home and plated it! Everything was yummy and I'll definitely return!

I came for one thing, and one thing only; the delicious looking breakfast sandwich they posted on their IG recently. Soft scrambled eggs, Tillamook cheddar, bacon, avocado ($2) plus mayo (I added it) on toasted sourdough makes it a pretty damn fantastic $10 brekky sando! Go get you some! And I'll def be back for their sweet treats

One of the best new bakeries in metro Detroit, Hillside opened around 6 months ago in Grosse Pointe Woods on Mack Avenue. This small bakery has it all from freshly baked bread to muffins, cakes, pies, sandwiches, and soup, all made in house. The sweet desserts look amazing - Hillside is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth - but my favorites are the savory dishes like the lamb chili and the potato bacon galette. I had the delicious lamb chili with an accompanying slice of bread for two days in a row. Loaded with large chunks of lamb and vegetables it's the perfect meal to have on a cold winter day. Service is very friendly and the atmosphere very welcoming. There is metered parking along the front of the store. I plan to return to try more of the soups and sandwiches for lunch.

I bought my first bread this morning at 6AM ,Despite the fact the Bäckerei opens at 8AM , but the owner was incredibly nice and opens up for 45 seconds and sold us a 50 degrees Celsius hot fresh loaf !!! What a fantastic experience! Thank You! If the idea of creating /baking Real Brezels , I will have a bunch of friends being at this bakery every morning (Wed - Sat) ! Congratulations to the Hillside backers with their yummy authentic European tasting products !!!

Amazing food, freshest ingredients, amazing pastries, Excellent costumer service. Make sure you grab their mystery grab bag, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars

What a wonderful bakery! The breads are amazing - as are the patisseries and sandwiches. Top notch addition to the East Side!

Stopped in here for some Saturday breakfast treats. I loved that they have a variety of savory and sweet options, pastries, muffins, quiche- everything looked fresh and delicious. The savory scone was a big highlight for us . Coffee was fresh and strong. It seems they draw a lot of business for their authentic French breads, the breads looked amazing but we did not try this time.Will be back ! Great neighborhood addition to breakfast options on Mack!

Excellent quality on everything Hillside sells! The breads are fantastic, as are the muffins, quiches, cookies, cinnamon buns, comforting soups, and yummy sandwiches. The owner and staff are so nice too! So glad we have this bakery in our neck of the woods. Yay, Hillside!

I've been going to Hillside Hearth since they opened in the pandemic in 2020. I agree there was some customer service bumps as they got going. but the quality of food is always worth the wait. (and they have ironed out a lot of those first year kinks!) Incredible baguettes and quiche slices. The ham & cheese scone is fantastic as well. Fresh baked bread daily! And, the head baker has some gluten free tricks up his sleeve! Their sandwiches are large and great for sharing. Love their homemades soups, too! Hope you enjoy as much as I do.

These guys do an outstanding job! the best French baguettes you can get your hands on.. their quiche is fantastic.. Highly recommended
