Heritage Bakery

Got some donut for work. Everything is bigger size than regular donut shop or bakery. Is bigger better? No. Taste kinda dry. Taste like grocery store donut but size is bigger.

I've been to Heritage Bakery a handful of times now. The staff is always friendly, and the place has that amazing bakery smell that pulls you right in. They seem to have a lot of regulars coming and going, which is a good sign. I've tried quite a few of their donuts and pastries, and while it's a solid spot if you're in a hurry or craving something sweet, some things could be better. The donuts often feel a bit dry, almost like they weren't made fresh that day. The Danish wasn't quite what I expected--kind of dry and not as soft or dense as I'd hoped, but maybe that's just my personal taste. It's not bad, but it's not the greatest either.

This is another one of our favorite new spots for sweet tooth satisfaction! Today we got a few more goodies. The churro cruller was absolutely decadent!!We got a few more goodies for after leftovers later.

Craving an Apple fritter yesterday. At 10AM it did not seem especially fresh; nor did it seems to be a day-old pastry.It left an artificial sweetener taste that lingered for hours.

This is a popular local bakery. Apparently, they are under new ownership, and I haven't been there recently. They have a nice selection of breads, pastries, pastys, cakes, quiches, cakes and other items. They have pączkis on Fat Tuesday with lines out the door.

Finally found a bakery with the combinations of value, quality and selection. Bought 3 donuts; glazed, raspberry and Bavarian cream. The raspberry was how raspberries should taste. The Bavarian cream was not the usual tasteless cream, but a rich homemade style. The counter personnel were helpful and courteous.

Placed an order for a birthday cake and picked up a beef pasty.The pasty must have weighed 3 lbs. Well seasoned, needed no saltbut gravy would have been a good addition. No need to go anywhere else unless I am driving to the U.P.

I ordered a cake to pick up a few days and when I came to get my pre-paid cake it was not prepared. The baker said to come back in 3 hours to pick it up. When I returned it get it the second time I had to wait a half hour for it. Very unhappy with this service and I requested a discount and did not get that either. I am not sure I will go back again. What a hassle!

An update to my initial review citing disappointment with a decorated cake for my mom's 92nd birthday. After a second email, the owner, Linda, called to review my concerns. While she would not provide a refund, she did offer an $85 credit for future bakery purchases. I did appreciate this and have upgraded my rating accordingly. We picked up several items today. The quality was fair, but definitely better than my first impression.

08/24/2024: Heritage bakery is under new ownership. The new selections are not the same. Since writing my initial review I had become a regular. New owners did not have my favorite blueberry cake donuts. Also, the vibe was different. They weren't mean just not as warm. The donuts I did buy were just ok. I wish them well but, I probably won't be going back. Side note: To be fair my review is probably a little biased - there was no sign that said under new ownership. The decor and everything else was the same. As a regular I walked in expecting my favorite donuts - only to reach the counter and be let down.
