Ground Control Coffee Roasters

My cousin and I wanted to try a new coffee shop in the area, so we stopped by Ground Control yesterday afternoon. The interior had a minimalistic yet cozy and homey ambiance. There were plenty of seating, so we had no trouble finding a table to enjoy our coffee and pastry.GOAT CHEESE, OLIVE & OREGANO - 6.99We shared this savory croissant between the two of us. It was thinner and flatter than the usual usual thick, flaky croissants I'm used to. The goat cheese paired nicely with the oregano, and the croissant was warmed up well. However, the pastry was a bit stale. Initially, we expected the croissant to be flavored with olive oil or olives, but there were actual olives tucked inside. While the pastry was unique and I enjoyed the goat cheese, it fell a little short given the price.GINGERBREAD LATTE (12 OZ) - 5.75The latte was not too sweet, and I could taste real ginger in each sip. However, the ginger and molasses flavors were a bit muted. I would have preferred a more robust flavor. Despite this, the latte was still pretty enjoyable.Overall, Ground Control has a nice vibe, and I'd return if I'm in the area. They also roast their own beans here, and the prices are pretty reasonable -- each bag is under $20.

Updating my review to 5 stars. This is my new "go-to" coffee shop. I like the vibe.The service is always friendly. It can get busy, but the staff is always pleasant. They offer to warm up the pastry.They have indoor and outdoor space (front and back). The tables are square and a little larger, which are good for working, which I appreciate.A touch more expensive, but I think worth it.

Great spot in a neat area! Love the chill atmosphere and excellent coffee selection. Just grabbed our drinks to go, but could see chilling here with friends or just reading studying.

I got a simple latte which was fine but the real star of the show was the cardamom chai latte I got my husband. Top tastiest drink I've had and I'd definitely go that route next time. Service was great also and it's got a cute aesthetic inside.

The newest on the Farmington coffee scene, Ground Control offers up a different feel than anything around it! Very clean decor, and minimalist atmosphere, with a great menu. They offer pastries, cookies, and sandwiches as well which was great to find out! I tried the vanilla cream cold brew, which wasn't too strong and had a good flavor. Also tried the five spice latte, which was super different! Like it's name, it primarily featured a spicy flavor over a sweet one. I look forward to frequenting this place in the future!

Great people and great coffee. A neighborhood gem to support as an alternative to the big coffee chains.

Best iced mocha I've ever had!! (And I am a coffee snob!)So glad I decided to check this spot out during my visit to Michigan. By far exceeded my expectations. Really love the space ship vibe. They have a book exchange and you get a discount on your drink if you bring a book to trade, however it's not required to bring a book to take a book.

Very friendly staff and the best coffee in town! There are almost always seasonal flavors and they're all amazing! This has been my favorite coffee shop since they opened! Great seating inside and out to hang out and enjoy your coffee!

I'm still not sure what downtown Farmington did to deserve all the fantastic coffee shops.Ground control has become my goto of if I want to spend a morning in Farmington. Decent baked goods. Wide array of milk options. Fantastic expression and lattes. Synesso Hydra behind the counter. Well executed latte art. Great cups. I can tell they just care about doing things well by all the choices they've made.I like the vibe and music choices as well. Be prepared for some shoegaze and gothy 80s sounds.
