Griffin Claw Birmingham

This is my favorite brewery in the Detroit suburbs, they have a great variety of beer no matter the season, and they have some wonderful kambuchas on tap too for those not drinking alcohol! At some breweries the attraction is the beer and the food is "meh", that is definitely not the case at Griffin Claw. Their food is amazing, their burgers, chicken sandwiches, and shrimp tacos are usually my go-to but I've never not enjoyed what I've ordered here. This is a great place to go no matter the season, during the warmer months they have the patio open outside with fire-pits and during the colder months you can chill inside.. it's a fun environment with sports always on and usually a nice crowd on the weekends. Definitely check in on yelp and get yourself on the waitlist ahead of time so that you're not waiting a long time for a table. Love love love this place and will keep coming back.

Come here for the drinks, but skip the food.Griffin Claw delivers on its reputation for great beer. I sampled four different options and loved them all, with the Flying Buffalo Bourbon Barrel Aged Rocky Road being a standout. The space is inviting, perfect for groups, and offers a laidback vibe where you can actually hear your friends talk--a big plus!Unfortunately, the food fell flat. Out of our group of six, no one was thrilled with their meal, and no one would reorder. I tried the "munchwrap" and couldn't help but think I should've gone to Taco Bell for a Crunchwrap instead. The prime rib Philly dip had potential, but the flavors clashed and lacked cohesion. For the price, we expected much better.Maybe it was an off day for the kitchen, but if I return, I'll stick to the beer and skip the food.

A great place to come and relax with friends after a long day! We came on a Friday evening at around 7 and it was quite busy, but we were seated within 30 minutes, even though we were told 40-45 minutes. The beers are all brewed inhouse and each has a very unique flavor. The steak bites were cooked perfectly and the sauce it was paired with was delicious. The bun on the prime rib philly dip was toasted well and the contents inside were seasoned perfectly. The accompanying dip complemented the sandwich extremely well. Lastly, despite how busy it was, the server made sure to check on us at regular intervals, which was greatly appreciated. Definitely looking forward to returning!

Oof, the menu for plant based folks has dwindled significantly. They used to offer two vegan options that were creative. Now the only non-animal based option left on the menu is an $18 impossible burger served without fries or side whatsoever. And it's a $1 more to add vegan cheese. Won't be eating here anymore. Beer is just okay. Screaming Pumpkin is back, but doesn't hold up to other pumpkin beers. They have some decent ciders, but more so at the Rochester Hills location. Seating options, location, and friendly employees are the pros.

Spur-of-the-moment, we decided to visit Griffin Claw Birmingham.The friendly staff accommodated us with a table promptly.The restaurant was clean and offered a clear view of the television, allowing us to enjoy the baseball, game.The extensive menu, with plenty of vegetarian options, catered to our dietary preferences.The black bean burger was incredibly flavorful, complemented perfectly by the Parmesan truffle fries.The Parmesan truffle fries were exceptional and highly recommended over the regular fries.The generous portion sizes allowed us to take home half of our burgers for later.The extensive beer menu featured a variety of options on tap, including flights for sampling different brews.The excellent portion sizes and good service made for a satisfying dining experience, and we would definitely return.

Griffin Claw was one of my "lost" beer and brewery experiences in which the information I was inputting on a phone was lost because the phone got destroyed. It was driving me nuts with this one until I recovered physical notes of the experience. I could have went off of memory but the accuracy could be off as I visit a lot of breweries and sometimes things blur together. What I don't needs notes for is that their swag is super cool and I bought a t shirt here because of that. But onto the beer. We had the Screamin' Pumpkin beer which was a fun one to have. It was appropriate as we were in the season for Pumpkin beers. Flavor highlights with this beer were pumpkin, spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and ginger. This creates a spicy, sweet and strong beer that is smooth and light bodied. Definitely a festive beer that is appropriate for Autumn!

They have a great happy hour until 6PM which includes $1 off beers and multiple smaller plates to choose from. Due to weather we sat inside but they have a huge patio and a parking lot behind the building. It's a very chill atmosphere and an easy spot to catch up with friends. I had a bowl of chili which was perfect for the rainy weather. It was hearty and served with sour cream and crackers! Our waitress was attentive and quick to get us another round!

We came into the griffin claw to celebrate my brothers 21st birthday and get his first legal beer! My dad made a comment that all the staff seemed to be having fun and really enjoy working there which is great to see. I love the ambiance here it's very cozy and welcoming. The food was delicious I loved the dip duo app and the loaded tots. None was lacking in flavor! I like the cocktail list here too not just beers. The S'more martini was awesome like dessert in a glass. This place has been a local hit for years and we will continue to come back for the good food and drinks. I have bought griffin claw beer and seltzer to enjoy at home as well and we have always liked to have it around. It's the best place to come after a skate at the ice arena. Hats off to the good service and tasty food!

This is a pretty decent place, the food here is pretty good but one thing I would recommend they fix is the cleanliness, the tables are a bit messy and greasy but other that that everything overall is pretty good.
