Grey Ghost is one of my absolute go-to spots in Midtown Detroit. Anytime someone asks, "Where should we go for happy hour?" or "I've got a friend visiting--any recommendations?" my answer is always Grey Ghost. It has never let me down.On my most recent visit, my wife, some friends, and I enjoyed a nice big meal. We started with the Fried Potato Salad, Steak Tartare, and Zucchini Tots--each was packed with flavor. The crispy chicken skin in the potato salad added a satisfying crunch and an incredible depth of flavor. Portion sizes were generous across the board, but the Steak Tartare stole the show. It's an absolute must-try!For mains, we split their classic burger (easily one of the top 3 in the city!) and the filet mignon. Both dishes were exceptional, with perfectly executed flavors that left us thoroughly impressed.Grey Ghost nails it every time, from the menu to the chill ambiance. If you haven't been yet, I highly recommend giving it a try--whether you're a local or just passing through, you won't regret it!

Grey Ghost Detroit--been holding it down for over a decade, and for good reason. Menus change, trends come and go, but one thing stays: the legendary cheeseburger. And if you're doing it right, you're throwing an egg on that thing. It's flawless--double patty, special sauce, shredded lettuce, and a bun that actually holds its own. Our server even told us they're opening a second spot just to serve this burger. That's how you know it's elite. If I were rating just the burger, it's a 6/5 without question, but the rest of the food and the overkill on crushed ice in the cocktails brought the overall review down to a 4/5.Now, onto the rest. The lamb tartare? Unexpectedly spicy, which worked for me but had my spice-averse dining partner tapping out. The crispy chickpeas were a great touch. The potato salad was nothing like your typical deli side--super crunchy, almost like they took inspiration from a Big Mac sauce. Solid pairing with the burger.Cocktails were well-crafted, no weak pours here. The Zephyr stood out--vodka, Benedictine, basil, grilled pear, za'atar, sour cream, lemon. Wild combo, but it worked. Only complaint? Way too much crushed ice, so it disappeared fast. Definitely need to come back to run through more of the drink menu. Great spot, great service, and that burger alone is worth the trip.

Went to Grey Ghost with my daughter. It's pretty dark and rather loud, but it wasn't hard to hold a conversation. Our waiter was amazing! He made several food recommendations and we decided on the pork chop and the lamb Wellington. We both enjoyed the food but the pork was simply amazing! So flavorful! We added the butterscotch cookies for desert, which were also very good. They came out warm and with a sweet cream to dip them in. I liked the cream but the cookies were great on their own.Grey Ghost never disappoints. One of my all time favorites downtown!

Lovely lighting and ambiance! It has a romantic feel. Feels like a great spot for a date or celebrating a special occasion.Normally, I love a good cocktail but their mocktail list is amazing so I had two mock tails instead. I loved Back On Earth, which had earl grey, grapefruit, honey, pineapple, lemon and lavender cream. Gorgeous drink! I also had their refreshing Spa Water with cucumber, mint, honeydew, lime, and soda.My friend enjoyed her Pinky Promise cocktail. As our appetizer, we shared the pheasant tacos. The pheasant was delicious! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was served with waffle taco shells, which were innovative and interesting, but I personally didn't love this combination or texture. The shell was nice and crispy, but it fell apart easily. For our main course we split the Lamb Wellington, which was perfection. Wow!We also had the scallops. The scallops were perfectly cooked. They sat on top of leek pancakes, which I found a little salty and didn't add anything for me. I ate my scallops separately to really enjoy their flavor. We received fantastic service from Sarah.Lovely evening!

Really great experience at Grey Ghost!! It was highly anticipated to try the famous burger and it was good, but a little overhyped. Our server was AMAZING and we loved everything he recommended.

The changing menu always keeps it exciting. Smaller dishes but the plates don't miss. Great dinner option especially before an event at the LCA. Drinks are fun & strong.

Although I made a reservation three weeks in advance, we were seated by the door and next to a drawer where staff frequently retrieved silverware--about 40+ times during our meal. This constant traffic invaded our personal space, and it might be worth considering moving the table or relocating the silverware. The bathrooms were moderately clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive for the most part. The food was good, with decent portion sizes, but I was surprised that no bread or small snacks were provided while waiting. I had always wanted to try this place, but after this experience, we're unlikely to return. The prices felt high for the limited menu options.

From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for something special. Every bite at Grey Ghost was better than the last--an explosion of flavor, creativity, and perfectly executed dishes. The menu is a masterpiece, with each selection more tempting than the next. Our waiter, Adam, took the experience to another level. His knowledge of the menu was unmatched, guiding us through the best selections based on our preferences and expertly pairing drinks with each course. His enthusiasm was infectious, making the meal even more memorable. This wasn't just dinner--it was a full-on foodie experience, and worth every penny. If you appreciate incredible food, top-tier service, and a dining experience that lingers in your memory long after the last bite, Grey Ghost is the place to be. I'll absolutely be back and can't wait to share this gem with my friends!

The food was amazing. The Brussels sprouts were the star of the show. Very good food. Weird seating where you face a wall so try to make a reservation

Great bday dinner with adult siblings!!! I'd say the cocktails were the strongest part of the meal - mine with a carrot element, my bro's with an apple brandy that surprised us all (almost as much as the flamboyant garnish). The best food items were that creme brulee, and the snapper dish - awesome thai flavors.
