Golden State Chef

I was pleasantly surprised to discover Golden State Chef. I simply needed a quick bite during my lunch break and didn't want to venture too far from my job site. I didn't think twice about what I might find here, but I am happy to find something so convenient. You basically walk in, grab a meal in one of their eco friendly microwaveable containers, then pay and go. There is no looking through a long menu or waiting for them to make your food. The best part is the food is tasty but still healthy (which is their main selling point). Down to earth and passionate chefs always make great products.

Wow Golden State catered the ribbon cutting event for the LifeWorks chiropractic office on the same complex. I have always wanted to try the food here since hearing about them back 5 years ago or so. They had fresh juices: watermelon and strawberry, all fresh squeezed too. All of their food is made from scratch and nothing is bought prepared. The quality of ingredients is beyond amazing. Their ingredients are GF, dairy free and soy free. The owners are super friendly and informative about their ingredients and meal contents. They have the ability to heat up the prepared meals onsite and tables in the locale for peeps that want to sit and eat for a spell. All of their Togo containers can be put into the ovens and are plant based. I saw their GF and dairy free (almond and coconut) chocolate chip salted cookies, they were chewy and absolutely the next gf/dairy free cookie I have ever had so far. I tried their jerk chicken and tinga and their chickpea cabbage salad. The chickpea cabbage salad was tasty. The jerk chicken and chicken tinga was so tasty and with their pickled onions, sauce and even with the kimchi was top notch. I didn't try their steak or their chorizo (not on their menu), but they also looked good. They have ready to go lunch packs and kid friendly meals too. I would so love and want to have Ryan be our personal chef and to make us every meal. I will be back here as often as possible.They offer food for pickup or delivery too, can it get any better than that?

I would 10 out of 10 recommend this place to anyone looking for a healthy meal at an affordable price on a night they just don't have the energy to cook and clean up. High quality ingredients and excellent flavor combinations. This place is a hidden gem

Deliciousness Food always fresh. Chefs are always professional and friendly. Must try if you are in Royal Oak. There food wakes up you palate and makes your taste buds dance!

Our daughter was born three weeks early and we didn't meal prep much before she was born. My mom bought us some Golden State Chef meals to help us out and WOW... our expectations were so far surpassed. We will be ordering more and soon!

Chef Ryan is personable and knowledgeable. It was my first time going in, and I simply asked what the program was? He was more than helpful in telling me about what his restaurant is all about as well as where I can get information, and get delivery. I bought the Yucatan pork brought it home and made it. Surprisingly it was delicious. Nothing against him but I assume that anything boxed is going to be rather bland, but this had great taste and even microwaved it was delicious. I can't wait to go back and try a few of the other choices. the building is a little awkward to get into but definitely worth a stop in, and see what it's all about.

Great to see a new family owned food business.Chicken VerdeMujadra PlateChicken Noodle soup. I was so impressed by the amount of gelatin in the container. That's how you can tell it's the real deal. I remember my parents cooking soup bones for several hours, and the resulting broth was like pure gelatin when it was refrigerated.It's a pricey treat if you are on a food budget, but if you are busy boss and want to eat very good, quality food you gotta try this place. 5 stars

Great food! Tastes better than all other prep food places with a variety of healthful ingredients. Just look at the cookbooks in the store. You know you are in good company! My wife and I gladly pay a little bit more for better quality.

This place is a breath of fresh air! I follow a strict soy free, dairy free and gluten free diet but am still a carnivore. It can be difficult to find foods that follow these guidelines and are still appealing to me. When I went in today, I was surprised to see that all of their offerings are within my diet and all so delicious. The price is also extremely reasonable. Can't wait to go back!
