So sad to leave a 1 star AFTER 28 years of my families business.. This was our spot as life until adulthood!! The problem is if you're actually craving a dish you love there's a slim chance you'll ever have the same tasting memorable dish!! You'll leave unsatisfied knowing the flavor is always changing w/ each craving &new order is a risk lol! No joke.Not fair to us people who chose to support each new owner & now they def lost us cause It's always a different experience! Not fair!

Golden phoenix is an ok place for take out Chinese. The food isn't nasty, but it isn't my favorite. But overall is good. I believe their fried rice is the winner of everything. The staff always seem to be nice when you call and get an order. Sweet and sour chicken is good. Pepper steak is not my favorite. General Tsao is ok.

I felt bad that I had recommended this restaurant to my friend. She called 3 hours in advance for a $300.00 order. A traditional family get together.THE FOOD was DELICIOUS, but theydid not secure the food in tight containers. trays with aluminum covers. Needless to say, the gravy's were all over the car & clothes of the couple who picked it up. I hope this restaurant invests in large order containers.

I have been going to this place since I was a little girl watched it move from Maple. Telegraph to Maple and Orchard. Food is always been good. Service is wonderful. And very nice inside.

Cabbage filled egg rolls. Wrappers were tasty and not greasy, but bean sprout filling is my preference and not cabbage, which is what they use here.Silver Needle Noodle was good, but not great. I prefer a different sort of a noodle than this, but the flavor was spot on.I'd likely try this spot again, but pay more attention to what I'm getting before ordering, rather than ordering off of familiar menu item names as I did on my first visit.

The food was delicious, it's been awhile since we had good Chinese food. Ordered egg rolls, chicken chop sure, pork fried rice and Thai honey chicken extra spicy. My husband loves spicy food and this was the first time he didn't add any extra heat.

Lunchtime. Dined in. The wait for food was over 30 minutes and no one was in restaurant nor carrying out. Almond chicken salty sauce soy like gravy was horrible and breading soggy. Chicken portion not great for even lunch. Chicken cutlet thickness. Chicken fried rice served cold and mushy. Just rice and soy sauce.Orange chicken sauce tasted freezer burned. I won't return. Food years ago was good, not anymore.On top of this overpriced compared to area Chinese.

On 9 /18/24, I was discriminated against as a Black man and treated unfairly at the Golden Phoenix Chinese Restaurant on Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfieldfield Mi.Upon entering the restaurant, I wasn't seated as expected. Instead, I was told that it was carry-out only. (not given the option to dine in)I kindly left the restaurant and sat in my vehicle long enough to search on google for other restaurants nearby that I could dine in.As I begin to exit the parking lot, amazingly, I witness other customers entering the restaurant and being seated.Upon re-entering and speaking with the employee, regarding her not giving me an option to dine inside, she repeatedly lied and made excuses. I then asked to speak with her manager. Upon speaking with her manager, I was not pleased with his response. He neglected to take accountability for their action. He kept telling me that he was short handed. I informed him that, I was there before the 10 Caucasians that were properly seated.He then stated that the customers that showed up after me were regular customers that dine in every wednesday.After leaving the restaurant the 2nd time, I witness the female employee exiting the building and placing a hand written note on the door, stating wednesdays is carry-out only.I have pictures and video recordings of the entire incident.

Portions are large, probably enough to split for 2. Lots of veggies. Food was bland, underwhelming. Hot & sour soup was not edible. It was like sugar water with dark soy sauce. No taste of white pepper or Chinese vinegar. Awful. Never seen anything like that soup before. Would never go back.

Chicken very fatty chow mein noodles stale very disgusting and unhealthy for a carry out restaurant neg
