Gnocchi Italian Restaurant

I absolutely love gnocchi (the entree) so was excited to give a restaurant that specializes in different types of gnocchi my business. There was a little hiccup -- no website or photos of the menu that I could find anywhere online. I realize I might be spoiled since the pandemic but not being able to even pull up an online menu (or quickly place a to go order online via Toast) feels like a missed opportunity, especially when they offer a full to go menu.When I called the business, the woman on the phone seemed confused about our dietary restrictions (vegetarian) and when I asked what she could recommend she didn't offer all the veg options on the menu to us, even after I clarified what I meant. She seemed annoyed that I didn't know what I wanted to order without having a menu. After going on yelp and looking for recommendations I was excited to try the mushroom soup... but it was sold out (another surprise since it was barely 5pm). Ultimately what we did order - palomino gnocchi - was very tasty and generous portion size so the food gets 5 stars but the attitude was a turn off. I did get a copy of the menu to post here so others don't have to relive my pain :)

Splitting my time between CA, MA and MI means I've been privy to trying some amazingly authentic Italian establishments such as this one. Whenever I'm in MI it's a must stop for me!Authentic gnocchi made with love, and served with a big selection of sauces.Make sure to try the cauliflower appetizer, fritters with home made dipping sauce!

One of the best Gnocchi dishes I've had in a long time. The gnocchi are made with ricotta, light and pillow soft. The bolognese sauce was authentic and flavorful. Meatballs were tasty and brought back memories of my Nona's kitchen. The teaser had 3 different sauces and garlic bread. Lunch prices of the meals and wine are very reasonable. Liz was great with service and Jeff the owner was pleasant and informative. I will return.

Gnocchi is the appropriate name for this restaurant. Almost everything has gnocchi in it. I like the theme. This is a cozy, family owned restaurant. Seats in the booths are very lumpy however. The waitress and the rest of the staff were very friendly and their service was good. The sauces on the chicken piccata and saltimbocca were a bit heavy for us, but had a good flavor. They put caper liquid in the piccata sauce. It was very noticeable. The salads were fresh. Now, the dinner rolls....Amazing! They are a simple yeast roll, but done so well. I like that the style of this restaurant does not attract a huge crowd. I needed a good relaxing dinner and that is exactly what I got. I wish they served glasses of wine that I would choose. I highly dislike the option of paying for a bottle that is marked up 1000%. So, I skipped the wine.We'll be back and I'll try a tomato based sauce dish to cut the richness of the gnocchi. For dinner on Wednesday, December 27th, 2023, I ate at this Italian restaurant in Clinton Township. I ordered spinach gnocchi with palomino sauce as my main course. I was also served rolls and a cup of chicken gnocchi soup. First to say, the gnocchi here is fantastic. It's homemade, and not store bought. I even like the gnocchi here better than Picano's, since these ones also have a small ricotta filling. I thought my chicken gnocchi soup was fantastic. The broth was quite flavorful. I thought the rolls were tasty. The palomino sauce in my spinach gnocchi dish was fantastic. It was a deal, costing only $20 per person for all this food. My waitress was quite courteous and helpful. I got the food very fast. I liked the traditional Italian decor with a Michigan twist to it. I highly recommend trying this Italian restaurant, especially for those on a tighter budget.

I hadn't visited since before Covid and remember having a lovely experience! My coworkers arranged a group dinner here last week and it was still the same fantastic experience! They were great with accommodating our large group and our server was amazing! Everyone enjoyed their meal and everything was served quickly. They even gave us separate checks, which was super accommodating. I was never the biggest fan of gnocchi until coming here where the owner is making fresh gnocchi daily. He even came over to the table and checked in with us. Loved the personal deal! I ordered the eggplant parm and subbed for palomino sauce... it was incredible! Be sure to try the chicken gnocchi soup- SO good! The ambiance is dim-lit and romantic, but comforting and decorated like an intimate restaurant in Italy. They also have a great wine selection. I cannot wait to come back!

The gnocchis, meatballs, soup....its all amazing! My only complaint is the hours! I wish they were open longer. It's quiet and clean inside.

Legendary award winning mushroom soup. Juicy chicken.Brilliant combination of sauces and flavors. A genius chef. All food made in house from scratch. This place has everything you can ever ask for in a restaurant. I would give it more stars if I could.
