Great new "old" addition to the area! Loved the new look, menu and vibe!!! Band was great...you could hear them and still talk!!!Hostesses were adorable and accommodating! Server, Connor, was good...a bit hyper...but sweet! We had apps...Brussels, tenderloin tips and mussels. All good...mussels were meh, a bit cold and maybe need some more oomph, garlic, cream, wine? No bread served for broth means your broth isn't good enough to make us want to drink it! Zip sauce was wonderful! Brussels were perfection and great portion.Soooo. My only issue is waaaaay too much action at hostess stand...eating, socializing, etc. when they could be doing more. We sat with empty plates for too long...while were walked past several times. We would've ordered more, but server never came back. Marianna walked by, asked me how everything was, I said ok. She immediately sat down and said, what's up? She took our plates and apologized. Saw her talk to our server. Assumed she was management, found out she was another server!! Wow. That is management behavior!!! Saved the night. Gave her tip and thanked her. We will be back because of her! And the food

First of all, the wine I was served I buy at Meijer all the time. I ended up paying more for one glass than an entire bottle. Quality wine maybe but this? Second, the gratuity was added because of a large group, no problem. But 25%???!!!!!! Seriously? Then they charged sales tax, on the grossly inflated gratuity. THEN... they added an ADDITIONAL TIP of $6 after we left, to my friend's charge that she didn't give. That's shady AF. I have no interest in going back.

Having grown up in HT I love they are reopening, the updates, and excitement around it. I have seen a steady flow of people there everyday. The space- they have a large indoor and outdoor space, and I feel they space the tables out well, so you don't feel you're eating with neighboring tables that may be around you. Staff-staff was polite and attentive without being overly intrusive, but still have some work to do anything bar related. My initial vibe while they are still training, and becoming familiar with what they offer was to stick to the basics. My initial question about wine, exposed my server had no clue when I was asking about a cab sav, I was asking about red wine, not white. I am sure this will change with more training, and a menu offering of wines by the glass. Food- I ordered a small pizza tasted pretty good, I would get it again but opt for different toppings. Additionally, our table ordered fish and chips. Definitely cut fresh fries, maybe slightly over cooked but I like them crispy, they were on the smaller side, but there was plenty of them. I didn't try the fish, but was told it needed some more seasoning in the batter otherwise good. I would say the pricing was fair $53 before tip, sm pizza, fish and chips, tall beer, and rum and coke. The fish came with soup or salad, and a side(which was the fries), but you have to tell them that's what you want despite the menu stating it's fish and chips. It fish with the option of chips. Not a big deal, but I can see that annoying some people if they don't realize it. Portions were very generous. I will be back and look forward to their continued growth.

Lawd have mercy! As an interior designer and hospitality professional of 20 years- this establishment has a major identity crisis. It took y'all years to open and this is what the final result was?! Gino's surf: a prime location, beautiful view! What you get is a sports bar meets a 70's nightclub, meets a diner on gratiot. The lighting made me want to off myself. The decor was heinous. The food was decent. Sub par at best. I'd say the worst part of this experience was the bar back hulking loogies whilst doing dishes, but better yet, the manager picking his teeth with a floss pick behind the bar... I was so disgusted by this lack of self awareness and professionalism. What a shame. Such a beautiful location to do something fabulous!

Been wanting to try this place as it renovated and on the water. I stopped in for some drinks and food on a Saturday afternoon. It has a nice bar area and is quite big inside, has an outstanding patio on lake with an outdoor bar. Summer will be nice there on that patio. They also have bands in and on this day they had Glen Brooke singing! My food was amazing and worth the cost as it was a little pricy. They had some good beers on tap as well, I had Alaskan amber which I love. It was a good time and I will come back. The servers were very good as well very personable.

8/25 Soft opening this weekend, grand opening on Sept. 20th. They're still working out the bugs in service as expected with any new restaurant with a soft opening. Very nice renovation, beautiful large patio with plenty of seating overlooking the lake. Comfortable patio couches lining the lake front edge of patio and an outdoor bar on the side. Indoor is spacious with again plenty of high top, standard tables, booths, large wrap around bar in the center. TV's lined up next to each other on the top of the walls, great for sports watching crowds.This is a very nice place for drinks and food with a beautiful view.

Just okay. They couldn't figure out how to put on the nfl games. The food was above average but not worth the cost. The service was okay, but we wanted more. Overall, I would give them another try, but they really need to step up. Great decor and set up. I see potential.

Food was really good!! Service was fantastic well attentive and answered all my questions. The music was such a vibe that added to my experience!!!

We popped in Gino's Surf on Valentine's Day with no reservation. Luckily they had a table available. We started with an Old Fashioned and a Cranberry Mule. Both drinks were tasty. We ordered chicken and spinach gratin for an appetizer. It was very creamy and cheesy with chicken and spinach. Delicious! Both of us ordered the salmon which had a Cajun sugar seasoning and came with garlic mashed potato's, green beans and sweet carrots. It was very tasty! The restaurant was lively and had a singer playing the guitar. The bar is very big with plenty of seating and they have tv's all around the perimeter if you want to watch the game. They also have a large outdoor patio for summer time so we will definitely be back!

Best pizza in the U.P. that I have found from Sault Sainte Marie to Houghton. I will try a sub next time and get a pizza to go.
