Gingerberry

Gingerberry is a takeout restaurant on the east side. It doesn't look like much but the food here is excellent and made to order. Gingerberry accepts cash only if you order in person. You can also order online. The wait time if you order in person is around 15-20 minutes. I ordered the catfish entree with broccoli and 5 cheese macaroni. The plate was huge and everything was well-seasoned. The macaroni is extra cheesy, and the catfish is crispy with a mild parsley and butter flavor and topped with lemon slices.I'm surprised that there aren't more reviews. It is five minutes away from Grosse Pointe Park and less than ten minutes from Indian Village / West Village. I will be stopping by again soon.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Came from tiktok, repeat customer lolif fried chicken is your comfort food, go here. If Mac and cheese is your comfort food, go here. I swear I almost cried eating the chicken and Mac and cheese. It was heavenly. I tell everyone about this place and I bring my very southern family food from here when they visit.It's cash only but I've managed to order thru DoorDash for delivery and pickup.

Got carry out for 3 from here. My wife got the. catfish with mash potatoes and Mac-n-cheese , my son got the chicken sandwich w seasoned fries, and I had the grilled chicken salad. Everything was delicious, my salad was enough to feed 4, tons of chopped, seasoned grilled chicken, cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, and cucumbers. My son often orders fried chicken sandwiches, this was his favorite, the breast hung over the texas toast on each side, it was fried perfectly. The cat fish dinner was excellent as well, the breading was light and crispy, the mash and Mac were both incredible. This is our favorite spot in the area now. Highly recommend.

Immediately upon walking in there are many signs saying CASH ONLY. I'm a card gyal so I didn't get anything but it seems like a good spot to try. Solid menu. Someone was receiving their food and it smelled delicious and they looked like a satisfied returning customer.

Ordered from DoorDash so I have never been here so I can't speak to customer service or atmosphere. What I can speak to is the quality of the food. I had the ultimate deluxe which is apparently 2 cups of steak tips, 2 cups of grilled chicken, 6 large shrimp on a skewer, and 2 large sides. It was outstanding and fairly priced. This will be my go to if I'm back in Detroit again!

I ordered the salmon with loaded mash and seasoned broccoli. I ate it about 3 hours after getting it and it was soooooo good. I'm going back to try it again. It was my second time there

The food was good but it always smells really bad; like old mop. Service was just ok. I ordered online and it was still a long wait.

Something's have changed a lot. I used to eat here often but I ordered today. And it was quite overpriced for the quality. And mostly all the meats were super salty. Not sure, maybe the cook was tired but definitely not impressed. Should have got Little Caesar's. Please chill with the salt on the steak, shrimp, and turkey chops. But yeah, disappointing and I don't even want to ask for a solution because that sucked and my man was not happy.
