Gina's Soulfood

Arrived in Detriot on a Saturday Gina's came HIGHLY recommend. I ordered Yams, Collard Greens, Green beans black eyed peas & dressing. The Greens were super salty so I didn't eat them. Went back Wednesday ordered the same things except for the green beans. EVERYTHING was salty except for the Candied Yams. UNLESS you want HYPERTENSION,,,,, DON'T EAT AT GINA'S SALTY SOUL FOOD. I went back against better judgment so proceed with caution.

Service was real. Chicken was fall of bone. fried right not gonna dog that. hot sauce was packets (cholula ) im not gonna hate on that. i prefer franks or house made, rare ik) cornbread was super burned in oven. could taste bad oven. (maybe bad day?) gave me green beans insted of collard greens. took a bite to try im like ok im not gonna say nothin, i dont like those so dont take my opinion on it but it ok for green beans i guess. was craving collard greens when i even stopped so i went back in. got my greens. seem canned. most place add a lil salt to the greens alternate flavor. kool aid i got was blue rasp. good but $4 cuz its in a jar im gonna throw away? anyways no mind it was worth the refresh . red beans n rice. bland no salt no pepper and im not a seasonor. bland almost minute white rice with red beans just put on top no stir legit try to stir and stained my shirt but thats my problem anyway, i guess thats my job anyway anywhere i go. fast move line work. im not one to leave reviews unless its good or unsatisfactory. i get the hole in the wall thing. i give love to that. as said chicken slapped good out of 3-4 on the half to mile run on 9 mile. but all and all with price and everything else. other spots im been trying place business with. sorry. thanks though. thank u for the woman giving me my collard greens when i came back in. thanks. service good. 3 out of 5 because wings were fall off bone i ate all the meat off them. if the chicken was bad i would have probably 2 because im not a 1star type.

The food is absolutely amazing. The place is extremely clean and the workers are always friendly and very accommodating. I have NEVER had a bad experience. The food is the best soul food I have ever had. I highly recommend you try this place yourself.

Gina's is one of my favorite soul food places in the Metro Detroit area! I go there whenever I'm craving some good fried chicken or a pork chop sandwich. They also make their cakes in house and I make sure to grab a slice with every order (try the German chocolate...IT SLAPS!). I love this place so much! Keep up the good work

This was a second choice because 10x wasn't answering phone, mad that I did. First, she tried to charge me twice claiming a pending transaction didn't go through. So she kept snatching the food out my hand. The macaroni was disgusting, the greens were alright and the catfish was hard and had no flavor will never go back there again.

This place is disgusting I can't believe they call themselves a Soulfood restaurant. Boneless turkey chops ? Who the hell sales boneless turkey chops ..Never again .....

Drove by, saw it, tried it. Everything was fantastic. Nice people, great service. The beef short ribs are totally incredible, super tender and delicious, cooked perfectly so the meat speaks for itself. Catfish was great, as were all the sides. Food arrived quickly and hot. Excellent place, loved it.

Ordered fried wings, rice & gravy, and green beans via DoorDash!!! No gravy on rice, green beans bland and chicken was fried in old grease with feathers still attached!!!! Will never order from here again!!! Don't waste your money!!!

Horrible customer service!!! Today was my first time trying this place and I didn't even get a chance to try the food due bad customer service!!! Ms. Gina we have to do better!

Ordered Beef Short Rib Dinner. YUMMY! So Tender & Delicious! Collar Greens. Just how I like them. Oh, you must try the 'Melt in your Mouth', Strawberry/Lemon Pound Cake! Yes!
