Foo, Service- this place is consistent. Being from Detroit where Coney Islands Re kings for quick eats George's place is a great spot to come. Im a chili guy that loves Chile and meat and onions in a bowl... this place kills it with the bowl they serve!Also the Lose Coney rocks. Emma served us with a smile

When we walked in, we were told to sit anywhere. There were only two other tables that had people so it was not busy at all. We waited about 5 minutes for someone to bring a menu to us. One waiter walked by and said that someone would be with us shortly but couldn't be bothered to give us menus? I know he wasn't assigned to our table, but if he was walking by, why not get us started. The waitress finally came out and gave us menus. She provided silverware but dropped my fork which is not a problem but never came back and provided a replacement. We grabbed a fork from another table after the food arrived. The food arrived quickly. The Stuffed Grape Leaves Entree was good. Not sure if it was ground beef or lamb. The menu didn't say which. My daughter had a grilled chicken wrap (in a tortilla) which was a special order. She enjoyed it and held together nicely. While we were eating, the waitress never came back to check on us to see how our meals were or if we wanted drink refills. I finally ended up filling our cups with the water I brought in with me. Also the plate that my salad was brought out on was dirty along the underside of the edge of the plate (yuck)! When she finally came back to hand us our bill, I had to ask her about the rice pudding that came with my entree. She would've skipped it otherwise had I not asked. I was given the option of either Rice Pudding or carrot cake. We were very excited about that until it came. I was expecting a triangle shaped piece of carrot cake with a healthy amount of cream cheese frosting. It was a small square (2" x 2" sized). Very disappointing. My daughter had wanted a piece as well and we were charged $3.13 for that small piece of carrot cake. Never again. We paid less for the ice cream Twix from the pro-shop that is attached to the restaurant ($2.50) and it was tastier. Needless to say, we were not impressed and won't be returning. Wait staff needs to provide more followup. Make the desserts more appetizing/value. Also double check the cleanliness of your plates.

A very ordinary Coney Island. 3.5 stars between food and service.Walking in, George's Senate benefits from being almost right on the golf course, but I think that's how it maintains most of its business. The waiters are always very friendly, and the overall space is cleaned and well-maintained.But the food is just really disappointing. The corned beef skillet is usually my preferred order, but theirs is disappointingly bland. They also throw on literally a slice of swiss cheese on top that may or may not always be completed melted. It feels very phoned in. We've also gotten the Big Breakfast. It's very big, they don't lie about that. But nothing special here. What saves this place is that the people are nice, and, while usually busy, we've never had to wait for a table because there's enough space. But it definitely feels like they could step up in the food department. There are other nearby Coney Islands serving good that speaks straight to the heart. Though I will add, if you're into the Pokemon Go scene, this place would be a solid place for lunch on a Community Day.

This place is why family owned restaurants are the best. George isn't just the name of the restaurant, he's the guy that's always working, cooking away in the back who comes out and knows who you are if you make the time to converse. It's exactly what you expect when you hear "Coney Island" for food plus a little extra. The restaurant sits on a small golf course so you have a pretty nice view as well! It's part of my family.

I just finished eating at the Senate Coney Island on Haggerty Road. Not a good experience. First off, there was nobody there to greet you or tell you if you should sit or wait to be seated, so I just grabbed a table and sat. I was there for over five minutes before anyone came to bring me a menu, but there were three or four people just standing around doing nothing. I was on the edge of getting up and walking out when one waiter saw that I was sitting there and told my waiter who is hanging out in the kitchen. The waiter came and brought me my menu and just had kind of an arrogant vibe to him. Also he didn't have a good sense of personal space because when he spoke to me every time he came to the table, he was about a foo to close. Lol. I don't blame it on the restaurant obviously, But it was a little uncomfortable. I had a couple coneys and an order of fries. The buns were stale and the fries were soggy. The restaurant itself was not clean. The floor was dirty and the tables didn't look very clean either. The bathroom was also not very clean. They were paper towels on the floor and on the sink, but none in the dispenser. I think the worst part of the experience was the cashier. And I get the impression she's maybe an owner but I'm not sure. Anyway, she barely looked at me when I walked up, took my bill and credit card, ran my credit card, and then set the card and receipt closer to her than she did to me on the counter. I reached across the counter and signed and tip the waiter, she never offered me a receipt. She just turned around and walked away. Never said one word. It was extremely rude. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Quick and tasty breakfast. There was a large group of us. Service was friendly and separate checks were not an issue. I had a veggie omelette with bacon and hash browns. All were plentiful and tasty. The restaurant was fairly busy but the wait was not long. Good coffee and big mugs! A great breakfast / lunch option.

Ok been here four times now and have lowered my rating from three to two. If I could, I would give it overall 1 1/2 stars. Explored the menu and know enough now that we probably will only come back for the Thursday night music on the patio. The food is mediocre - nothing good enough to order a second time in these four visits. Todays tossed salad was comprised of anemic lettuce, one slice of cucumber cut into pieces and a wedge of tomato cut up as well (for $4). Chicken strip pita sandwich was almost cold as were the fries. Hubby got spinach pie and packed up more than half to go home (where I know he will jack it up with some spices to make it more palatable).

WOW our first visit to the palace of George's Senate Coney chain. A beautiful Dining room two sides on a Golf Course . Full Bar giant outdoor patio and marvelous Meals . This a full unique Brunch Restaurant that holds a couple hundred hungry folks. Hot News George sold the Taylor location a month ago, he's full time here in Northville Mi, his son at Livonia location and wife Dearborn location. I was so Happy to talk with George who came to our table, known him for 50 years truly great guy. Thanks so much for the hospitality George truly appreciated. Had the Friday Fish with Fries and Greek Orzo Soup , tender Flaky perfect Cod loin's. She had the Smothered Chicken Breasts with Onions and Mushrooms, Peas in the Greek Red Sauce outstanding Delicious. For dessert Rice Pudding and Carrot Cake fantastic. Place packed Friday afternoon, with thousands of regular customers, we going back soon .
