Fudgy's Ice Cream Palace

Absolutely love this place! Best mom and pop ice cream place in Southgate. Bonus that Fudgy's opens up in February for the season!

Great local ice cream place. It's right under the pedestrian bridge from the city buildings making jt easy to access without having to cross the street. During COVID they've asked for only one member of the party to approach the window and to keep social distancing while waiting in line. The staff is always friendly and the ice cream is always delicious!

Five stars for the huge delicious waffle cone full of silky swirl custard... with patriotic sprinkles. Almost too much to eat. Well, it would be too much for most. And it's just a short hop away from Thai Place, which is a killer spot for some yummy Thai food (up there with the best I've had in Metro Detroit). Perfect dinner and desert combo.

Best soft serve and custard Downriver! They also have fun hard ice cream flavors to choose from. They literally have something for everyone, popsicles, parfaits, dipped cones, sundaes, floats, coolers, you name it! They even have a drive-thru that's usually open all day before 5 pm. Must try if you haven't already, and the service is always super fast, so don't let the line scare you!

I have always avoided this place due to the name sounding like what is found in a baby's diaper. Heard enough praise about the place and as they took down the sign with the leering elf, I decided to stop by on this humid day. They impressively have choices of hard ice cream, soft serve or custard. I got the custard and disagree with the person who proclaimed this the best custard downriver. Its not. Bob-Jo's still holds that title. Anyways it tasted good and they had an array of refreshing treats so I give them 3 stars. They really should think about changing the name to Custard King or something though.

We have visited this place many times , the last couple times we haven't been very impressed , but the manager acknowledged the problem and went above and. Eying to make sure we were satisfied and to be sure to come back again :) customer service at its best

The portions are big, and they don't skimp on toppings. I have been ordering the custard cookie flurry since i was a kid, and they still add tons of cookie dough! Every bite has some. Everything I've ever gotten, never disappointed. It's a staple in Southgate, and downriver!

Absolutely amazing! Their prices, portions, and variety of menu options are the best downriver. My favorite the the banana milkshake. I don't know what kind of creamy goodness magic they practice but I'll take a cauldron of it any day. Did I mention they have a drive -thru?!

Great menu! Cute presentation! Friendly helpful staff! The shop looked clean & the outside seating was clean! Our first time here & we will be back!
