French Toast Bistro

One of my favorite breakfast spots. The food and drinks are always delicious. Service was okay this time. A bit slow, not very welcoming, just there to take our order. Ambiance was regular nothing too fancy. One note, they have the best beef bacon!

I CANT WAIT TO GO BACK! Tip: go when they open at 9 if you're going on a Sunday. We got a table right by the door and saw just how busy this place gets. Amazingly friendly service, delicious Cajun/creole dishes, yummy coffee and cocktails; the list goes on. TONS of mimosa options!! Writing this review makes me want to go right now.Parking: shared lot with other businessesAttire: casual!

Great spot. No reservations so little wait can be expected. Small space but we enjoyed the food and will visit again. Shrimp and grits were delicious. Side of green and fried green tomatoes were awesome too. Mimosas were to go to cocktails for us.

Stopped in today and had brunch with a friend. I had the meat lovers omelette which was cooked perfectly and a side of the grits. The flavor on the grits was good but they were a bit too thick I think, at least for my preference. My friend had the eggs Benedict with the fried green tomatoes and finished it all. We enjoyed the seasonal hand warmer which is basically a hot chocolate with RumChata and cinnamon. It was boozy and delicious and larger than I expected. Service was great and they were not upset we stayed a long time. We made sure to tip extra to make up for it and appreciated it although luckily while busy no one was waiting more than 5 minutes for a table

I came in shortly after they opened. A couple tables were already taken but not too busy. They had 4-5 waitresses serving so there's no delay. I have no complaint about the servers. So I gave an extra star, making it a 3- star review. We got our food about 20 minutes after placing the order. The food looked good. The Crème Brûlée French toast was tasty. However, it was a bit cold. It could be understandable since they have to add the cream and toppings. In general, all 3 dishes were not hot and lukewarm at best which is disappointing at a sit-down restaurant. The Gumbo was not the best I had but it was decent. If it came out hot, it might deserve 4 stars. This makes me wonder if they just reheat leftover / overnight soup. The chicken and waffle were "sad" looking. The waffle was cold and seems like they pre-made it before the restaurant opened. The fried chicken was slightly warm but unflavorful. You definitely need to dip the waffle and chicken in the syrup. Unfortunately, this was the worst chicken & waffle that I had. I tasted the collard green but did not take a second bite. It was cold and bland. Overall, we did not have a good experience and will not be returning.

Great breakfast place! Busy on a Monday late morning, which was surprising. It's a bit loud and bustling inside, so be prepared if you're planning on having a conversational catch-up!The food was great! The French toast was yummy, the cream cheese flavors and layers were a fun twist on the classic dish. The avocado toast was good with great portions, especially for what you pay. The omelettes were yummy, good cooked eggs with goat cheese! The white cheddar grits were unique and great as well! The egg breakfast was great. Get the biscuits and the potato pancakes!!Our server was nice, sweet and attentive and gave good recommendations. We had a wonderful time here!

Sunday morning chaos due to long wait of over an hour and a half for a table for 4. First time dining here, and I was not impressed by their food options. The portions were good but the food was not really hot it was just warm. There was a lot of people as expected on a Sunday. Service was great overall.

Great beignets, but lackluster French toastI have a rule: if the restaurant is named after a dish, it better be the best thing on the menu. For this attempt, I can see potential glimmers of greatness marred by execution errors.On paper, a corn chip French toast with bananas foster sauce and cream cheese stuffing sounds delicious. That's what I thought too when I made the trek to this location. The problem was it was way overcooked. The bread was fried hard and had no custard left. That coupled with the light drizzle of sauce which was immediately absorbed by the dry French toast and you effectively got fried bread.I would assume this was a fluke, if I did not order a slice of red velvet French toast to try as well. They used an extract in the egg batter which led to an over chemically aftertaste which I couldn't get past. That with the chocolate chip marscapone didn't really work well. However, that one piece had the correct cook and was custardy.The beignets were a last minute addition and I will admit they were very good. Like an airy cruller, the bites were crispy, light and airy but also dissolved into a creamy lightly sweet bite. It was very well done. The coffee was also not bad, but still needed sweetener and salt to mellow it out.The chorizo hash was a perfect example of our experience. The flavors were good, but the execution was spotty. There was way too much potato for the plate the eggs were poached perfectly, and the chorizo was spicy and grilled well. The biscuit was a waste, and the potato was under-seasoned.So when the kitchen isn't slammed and they can take their time and push out quality, I can see this place doing well. However, my experience was lackluster this time around. It's good, just not consistent

Favorite brunch spot.Food, service and cleanliness are an A+Don't forget to try the bloody Mary's or mimosas!

Shrimp and Grits was 10/10.Great drinks, good service and nice environment.Will definitely be back!
