Wow, the Fox Theatre is a true Detroit gem! We attended the Jim Gaffigan show and had a marvelous time. From the second you enter the building you are transported back to another time, the facade is so ornate! The ushers are super friendly and you can get concessions for market prices. The seating is a little cramped but that is to be expected, but the seats were comfortable. And that evening the city was buzzing with excitement so it was nice to get out and see the city in its new glory. We can't wait to return!

I've been to the Fox many times before but this trip was especially special! My grandson loves Grinchy, as he calls him, so I took him to see the Grinch musical. He loved all of it. I'll never forget his smiles watching the show.

Another place that I can't believe I have never reviewed before given the countless times I have come to shows and events at Fox Theatre!I love this place. It is so epic and historic and is one of the jewels of Detroit. Located directly on Woodward, right at the edge of the downtown district bordering the highway and directly across Woodward from Comerica Park, the Fox Theatre stands next to the Fillmore as the two historic buildings that house a ton of shows, concerts, and other events.I've been to Fox Theater to see musical artists, stand up comedians, live shows, plays, and so much more! It's such a beautiful venue and so well maintained given how long it has been around.Truly everything about the Fox Theater is wonderful. I actually love being on the mezzanine as my personal favorite and best view because then you get to check out a higher floor and go up the fancy staircase in the middle of the lobby at Fox Theater and also have a wonderful view of the stage from there! There are bars and food vendors located at every level throughout the theater and the kind often just depends on the kind of show you're attending here. All in all, you haven't gotten the full Detroit experience until you've attended an event at Fox Theatre! Whatever you see here, just know it's going to be a wonderful experience!

The Fox Theatre is one of the gems of Detroit. From the amazing neon facade to the extravagant interior, The Fox is the crown jewel of remaining movie palaces not just in Detroit, but across the entire country. I could spend an hour in this building just exploring the details around every corner, on every inch of the interior. I absolutely love attending shows here. The acoustics are wonderful. The sightlines are great. There's really nothing to complain about if you consider it's almost 100 years old and won't have some amenities that a new facility would have. A visit to the Fox is like travelling back in time. It's a truly magical place.

Security guard near our seats pulled my daughter's 12 year old friend that was with us out of the dark theatre by herself without having her get an adult , I finally saw what was going on and went out to lobby to see what the deal was , this guard has my daughter's 12 year old friend opening her phone so he could see her pics and videos , come to find out he was accusing her of recording the musical which was the Grinch. . this was something different I did for my family and I let them take a friend to see the show and to be honest after that encounter with this security guard there and the way he pulled her out and didnt even ask her to get an adult she was with had me very angry , he had a responsibility to notify an adult and his excuse was it was dark in there he couldn't tell she was a kid .....well buddy you had her in a well lit lobby after you pulled her out and demanded to go through her phone like you were the FBI .....I doubt I will return to the FOX if this is the way we're treated as customers

Astounded every time I step into the Fox. It is simply a beautiful theatre and a nod to old world craftsmanship Only wish there were more events hosted there and really wish they bring back playing some movies here on occasion.

The Fox Theatre is a pretty cool venue in Downtown Detroit. It is right next to the Fillmore and close by Comerica Park and Ford Field. There is quite a few parking lot options within a short walk though I do recommend booking parking ahead of time on ParkWhiz or SpotHero.I have grown up going to Fox Theatre for shows and it's a cool venue but it's not my preference of venues in the area. This recent event I attended was for a comedy show and lobby doors opened at 6, theatre doors at 6:30, and the show was scheduled to start at 7:30. It was seriously chaotic in there! We arrived at 7 and the lobby was absolutely jam packed, it was hard to move! They had security/ushers checking everyone's ticket (at multiple different checkpoints), one by one. I am all for safety first but it felt like overkill especially with time ticking down to the show starting and people continuously packing in. The show started about 15-20 minutes past 7:30 which was fine but it just seemed like the whole process could have been way more efficient. The theatre is really beautiful and ornate. Definitely worth taking a step out from under the balcony and looking up at the ceiling. There is usually pretty good acoustics/sound in this building as well. Another thing that was a little strange was the security guards walking up and down the aisles the entirety of the show, at some points stopping in the aisle and blocking people's view of the stage. Not sure what was going on there. Luckily, it was easy to exit and the end of the sold out show with side doors opened up!

We attended the Al Green concert with 80 Seniors from ten different Villages. Parking is not so good and the prices are extremely high to park, it was very busy that night with a game going on at Ford Field. Police everywhere and certain streets blocked off, making it more difficult for dropping off our seniors, Police were not a big help, they just wanted traffic to keep moving, no consideration that we had seniors with walkers and the fact that is was very cold that night. The ushers and staff at the Fox were very helpful and nice. We will return but will also verify that no other games are going on as well.
