Went to Fishbones twice for New Years Eve. We went for dinner and started our night there. After eating we met up with some friends elsewhere, then came back for a drink nightcap and listen to the band.I'm a sucker for Fishbones. I love this place. We started our dinner with a sushi roll and a sushi pizza. My wife loved the sushi pizza. To me, it's just a big California Roll blob, but to each their own! We both ordered an entree of braised short ribs. They were devine! I even tried to cut it with my spoon, and the short rib fell apart before I could even give full pressure downward with the spoon. Such a delicious dish!

Great early Happy hour! 2:30-5:30 Monday-Friday. The drinks, cosmopolitan and margarita made by Nick were well done. Service was quick and informative. There are a few tasty appetizers: the Saganaki was as good as anything I've had in greektown. My neighbors had the Catfish beignets and enjoyed them. The restaurant is New Orleans friendly, very comfortable atmosphere.

Believe it or not, I had never been to Fishbones until recently. I would say the experience was just average. Our server was very nice and was knowledgeable about the menu and was able to answer my questions about gluten free items. Service from the kitchen was quite slow despite it not being very busy. The was was ok.First we started with a spicy tuna roll. Kudos for having Tamara but the roll itself wasn't good, something about it didn't taste like tuna and it was very low on spice. For my entree I had the Faroe island salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked and had a nice crust and medium inside. But the food was so salty it was almost unbearable., and I mean all of it, the salmon, the green beans and the potatoes. Someone in the kitchen was very heavy handed and sadly that was off putting. I think it would have been a decent meal if it wasn't over seasoned.

I had my 70th birthday dinner at Fishbones in StClair Shores Mi on Saturday February 15th. I had 34 family and friends that RVSP me that they were going to be there. I reserved a room for my event. We had a great time there. The food was great all my family and friends enjoyed themselves. The management at the restaurant was professional, friendly and courteous. If I have another event I will definitely consider Fishbones in StClair Shores Mi.

If you can afford to spend $35+ per entree & are okay with judgmental staff, this is the place for you.Affordable Spider (sushi) roll was excellent but vibe killed this place for me.

The photo speaks volumes as it to pertains to the owner of said establishment. Who would want to spend $ in his pockets w/a smart ass comment as such, not me. Service is slow, staff has no etiquettes, perhaps the owner can invest in some courses for not only themself but for employees, he has the spot to do it and it would be good for the generation that works there, so sad how slow they move. I grew up in a world if you're just standing there doing absolutely nothing maybe grab some paper towel and do some cleaning, perhaps the splotchy bathroom mirrors because that place sure could use some dusting. Sadly the south end of SCS has gone South, originally an east side no longer and so glad I'm not. This place is a dump !!

Oh my what a disappointment. I came back to visit Michigan with fond memories of Fishbones downtown Greek town location. I could not wait to order the legendary Alligator Voodo and Pasta Orleans. The alligator didn't disappoint as it was fresh and crispy as I remembered. However, when the pasta came out the sea and fishy smell hit us before it got to the table. Anybody knows that if your seafood still smells like it is swimming that means it's past it's due date! That it should be on the table! It was very pretty to look at, but the whole plate reeked! For it only to have shrimp, crawfish, and crab in it.. I was waiting for the whole Little Mermaid cast to jump out and start singing to me! Not to mention the crawfish leg I almost choked on! YUCK!

We came in on Mother's Day and surprisingly, were seated immediately. Our server, Molly, was an absolute joy. The ambiance was everything I expected (well, except for the live music that we missed). The food was SPECTACULAR! I tried something new this time (the Seafood Jambalaya) and he had the grilled chicken with potatoes and fresh grilled veggies. Thank you for yet another amazing experience. Can't wait to return soon.
