Farmhouse Coffee and Ice Cream

My husband and I come here a couple times a month. We love the Michigan Pothole ice cream, and the staff knows this! Their only question is whether both of us are going to get ice cream today ,or just one! We highly recommend this business!

Really good ice cream shop located on the north side of 12 mile Rd between Middlebelt and Orchard Lake. This shop is tucked away in a small corner of a strip mall and is easy to miss where you definately need to be purposely looking for it as it will not jump out at you if passing by.Relative to their Ice cream they carry an assortment of Premium Guernsey Ice cream which I am a huge fan of where few ice cream joints in Metro Detroit carry this brand. That in itself makes this ice cream centric business stand out from their competition and worthy of a trip here in and of by itself. Prices for the ice cream are fair and in line with other hand scooped premium ice cream parlors. Besides the ice cream, this business carries there own house label of coffee that is locally roasted and unique to this business which is quite good and flavorful in its own right. Other products served here include a full lineup of coffee drinks, assorted pastries, breakfast/lunch sandwiches, soup and an assortment of fresh salads. Relative to service, the husband and wife owners were tending the counter while we were there where they were super friendly and very accommodating as they let us sample multiple flavors of ice cream before we settled on the final flavor. Relative to the business itself, it is bright and clean inside with two outside dining areas. The outside dining areas have quite a few tables available where the rear outside dining area is covered which is definately something to keep in mind during rainy days.Overall we were quite pleased with all aspects of this business and definately would recommend this place for all the stated reasons especially if you are aware of Guernsey products and are as big a fan as I am of this Michigan premium brand. Definately looking forward to my next visit here where I will be sampling their Guernsey based milk shakes next!

The cutest cafe and ice cream parlor! My family and I stumbled upon Farmhouse when we discovered our go-to "after Sunday service" ice cream spot was closed for the season (Rita's Frozen Custard). My daughter was so bummed, so I quickly pulled up Yelp and found Farmhouse less than 2 miles away. The shop sits in a small shopping strip, and you'll likely miss it if you don't slow down. Parking is ample but a little difficult to get out of as the spots are narrow. Walking into the cafe, we were greeted by the sweet smell of milk and coffee. The cafe menu items were uniquely flavored (lavender latte and pumpkin creme brûlée, to name a few) and the baked goods looked enticing! But we came for ice cream, and my daughter hurriedly pulled me to the back of the shop to see the flavors. And what a cool set of flavors they were! Talk about mouth-watering! So many unique flavors that we really couldn't decide. The gentleman behind the counter was so warm and accommodating - I had shared it was our first visit and he offered free tastings for any flavor we chose. So considerate, especially for indecisive kiddos! My daughter finally settled on a double scoop of Superman and Cookies and Cream. I chose the White Russian Latte.They were DELICIOUS. And not overly sweet. We ate EVERY LAST BITE - even my daughter who NEVER eats both scoops, like EVER. That's how much she loved it. We are definitely returning and have dubbed Farmhouse our new go-to ice cream spot!

This spot was a nice find after our move. We had fallen in love with a local spot near the Grosse Pointes and I was sad to not have a good option out here. This spot is great! Super kind staff, pretty solid breakfast item selection, and plenty of coffee and drink options. Even some lunch items and a whole ice cream case as well! Pretty chill interior with a variety of sized tables and some sofas, chairs, etc. nice and bright and a nice place to sit and work for a while. We stop here regularly now on weekends.

Farmhouse Coffee and Ice Cream is a diamond in the rough. The service was great and so was the ice cream. A major bonus was that they had Key Lime Pie ice cream, a family favorite!

Stopped in for a coffee and blueberry muffin. Both were excellent. Friendly service and I received my order quickly.

When I decided I was done having mediocre coffee from the mainstream coffee shops, I came onto Yelp, found Farmhouse and decided to give it a try. It's been several years since then and I still consider this place my all time favorite coffee shop. Without fail, the same amazing quality is consistently delivered in anything I order. This is easily one of the best places in Michigan to get a cup of coffee. I have loved everything I ordered from here, which is huge because I'm so picky when it comes to coffee - it has to be just right. The coffee, and honestly everything else on the menu at Farmhouse, literally does not ever miss the mark. I've also brought several people I know to this coffee shop with me over the years and all of them have found something to love about this place. I also love coming here to study!!! Another thing that makes them stand out to me is that they are incredible when it comes to accommodating my food allergies, which is such a relief to those who have them. The family that runs this business is so incredibly kind and you can tell they genuinely enjoy what they do. Everyone is always very easygoing with smiles on their faces and it just makes for a very welcoming environment. They also love getting to know their regulars and each make their own individual effort. They also come up with unique coffee flavor combinations for all the seasons and these flavors are seriously a must try.

Amazing ice cream! The pothole chocolate was so good and the latte was delicious also. We will be back!
