Farmers Cafe

It has been way too long since my last visit. I had an outstanding bowl of beef vegetable soup and a phenomenal grilled fresh catfish dinner. It is still the best grilled catfish that I ever ate. The fish was very sweet and cooked to "spot-on" perfection. I will be adding this restaurant to my rotation. Just a fantastic meal.

Solid find, good old fashioned American dinner experience on the way to the Detroit airport! Hometown and oh so much what I wanted.Skipped breakfast and driving from Toledo to Detroit to fly home. Didn't want to stop around the airport, so I found this place just off the highway with some good ratings. Did not disappoint !This is what breakfast places in small towns should be. Great service, very pretty staff, great food that came out fast with everything hot and ready to please! I had a veggie omelette with hash-browns, wheat toast with peanut butter! Hash-browns could have been a little more browned but I bet if I would have asked for them that way that is exactly what I would have gotten. Food came out really fast, was nice and hot and very well done! Great service with a beautiful smile!I would make a habit of stopping here, well worth the maybe 15 minutes it added to my drive! We are so lucky to have Farmers cafe in our small town. We have been here several times and everything has been wonderful! My husband and all of his buddies love the grinders! The service is always great, the utensils are clean, the food is wonderful, and the servers have smiles! 5 stars!

They have a full menu with breakfast anytime, Italian and Greek food. Homemade chicken pot pie (special not always on menu). We've eaten there twice and the servers are super friendly. Quick delivery after ordering. Reasonable prices. They clear the table after salads and appetizers very quickly. If you love good home cooking, this is the place!

3.5 overall. I ended up at Farmers Cafe as my original breakfast destination was closed for vacation. The restaurant does appear to be located within a farming community, and it is part of a strip of businesses. There is a parking lot onsite. The cafe has a community feel, which as someone from outside the community, it felt as though all eyes were on us when we walked in. Most of the patrons within the restaurant were talking to each other across the tables and booths. Our server greeted us right away and was very welcoming. We ordered a variety of dishes to try, and the prices were very low. They offer most of the standard breakfast fare, including pancakes, french toast, skillets, and biscuits and gravy. The breakfast menu filled an entire page, and the subsequent pages were dedicated to lunch items. We ordered the standard breakfast with scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and rye toast, plus pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. The portions served were a good size for the price, and I liked that I could order 2 pancakes instead of 3. Overall, this breakfast was fine. There was nothing revolutionary about the food. The biscuits by themselves did not have a lot of flavor, but we're better once the gravy was added. The pancakes were hot and fresh, but were a little on the tough side. The scrambled eggs were overcooked compared to how I typically like them. The hash browns were very good, crispy on the top but soft on the bottom. The star of the show was the rye toast, which I would definitely recommend. I personally would not drive out of my way to return to this restaurant, as there are better options closer to my home. It does seem to be a hit among the locals, and it appeared that most patrons knew each other and were having a great time. If you find yourself in the Carleton area, you might want to give the Farmer's Cafe a try!

Great food. Great prices. Nice staff! We love this place! We had a great turkey dinner with all the trimmings on Thanksgiving Day!

Found this while on a road trip. When you walk in on a week day and you see all the locals, you know you have chosen a good place. Large servings and a great price. Service was friendly and attentive. We had the sandwich special which included a cup of soup, slice of bread and fries for $9.99. We tried the bacon and cheese and the ham and cheese sandwiches. Everything was great
