From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by not only the hospitality staff but by Moe, the manager/owner. Moe immediately greeted us upon entering and was attentive throughout the evening. One could not ask for a better host! Not only does he take his job seriously but Moe is "dressed to the nines!" In fact, most of the wait staff are attired in beautiful red velvet jackets, which complement the decor of the restaurant. We arrived early for our reservation and were immediately seated without hesitation. This restaurant's interior is beautiful, where attention to detail is everywhere. Even the presentation of the silverware and menu cover are fabulous! The layout of the restaurant is a bit narrow, but they have made good use of the space. Rosario, our server, was very, very attentive anticipating our needs. The food! Wow! The salmon -the best we have ever had and we've had a lot of salmon dishes! 11/10! The bubbly drinks were a lot of fun! Our only complaint initially was with the appetizer. We initially ordered the tempera sweet potato fries, and as you can see in the photograph, we were provided with two sweet potato fries and tempura green beans which the menu never mentioned. While they were good, it was not what we thought we had ordered. Upon indicating to the waiter and Moe about our concerns, they immediately addressed the matter. Not only where we provided with the order shown but other small touches throughout the evening. This is what I call customer service. The second order of the tempura sweet potato fries were spectacular. Drizzled with honey and so tasty-loved them! Very unique.I am not keen on an automatic 20% gratuity being added, as I would've likely left more, but had feelings about this automatic addition, -which by the way, some people might fail to notice. Overall, I have nothing but high praise for Experience Zuzu and cannot wait to visit the establishment again. I'm not quite sure why I haven't been here sooner!

My daughter surprised me for my birthday and brought me here. The vibe is very LA with the music and the decor. She had a reservation and we arrived on time and the hostess took us to a dirty table. We stood there looking confused and she just shrugged. My daughter asked could we get seated somewhere else and she took us to another section. Evidently this wasn't communicated with anyone because there wasn't anyone working in this section. We just saw lots of red velvet blazers walking by and ignoring us. After waiting for 15 minutes, finally a server greeted us and proceeded to take our orders. I had the strawberry martini and my daughter had a glass of wine. The drinks were ok. We ordered three appetizers and an entree to share. But everything took incredibly long and the music became unbearable after awhile. It seems like the kind of restaurant that's great if you are an influencer. I was disappointed in the service and lackluster food and what my daughter spent, I think I'll stick to Ima.

First visit to Experience ZUZU and it did not disappoint. Had an early evening out. We opted to try several mocktails, which tasted fantastic. We share quite a few items, crispy rice, gyoza, crispy tempura fries, and mains yaki udon with beef, and the jalapeno hamachi. There was plenty of food and we left with left overs. We will be back. There is an automatic gratuity added, which is not a big deal as it is more and more common these days, but could be a surprise to some.

Very cool ambiance and decor! I love the color scheme and lighting. Lovely outdoor patio to enjoy in the warmer months. Fun music and party vibes. Excellent service from Allie and great recommendations. The cocktails are delicious! I enjoyed the Japanese Whispers. Very crisp and refreshing. My friend really enjoyed the What We Do Is Secret cocktail. It looks really cool and bubbly and steamy. The appetizers were good, but not amazing and felt overpriced. We shared the Crispy Rice Spicy Tuna and the Walnut Shrimp as our appetizers. The Walnut Shrimp has tempura rock shrimp and for my personal preference, the tempura was a little too thick. I've definitely had better crispy rice spicy tuna, but this was still good. For our main course we shared the Truffle Scallop + Asian Pear specialty roll and that was excellent. We also shared the Blue Fin Toro Tuna roll and that was a lovely explosion of flavor. I loved the spicy caviar crema.I would gladly come back and try other things. They have noodle dishes and steaks that look fabulous.

Me and my hubby went for dinner and our waitress was great she was down to earth and took great care of us. The food was so yummy and we had no complaints there. We tried multiple drinks and I liked them all which is very impressive because that normally doesn't happen. The only down fall I say is seating is way to close and your sitting to close to the people next to you.

We recently dined at Zuzu in downtown Detroit and were thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is vibrant and sophisticated, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable birthday!! The sushi was outstanding--fresh and artfully presented. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection, and the walnut shrimp offered a delightful blend of flavors. The staff, especially our server Rosario, and manager Mohammed, were attentive and enhanced our dining experience. Zuzu is a fantastic addition to Detroit's dining scene, and I highly recommend it for anyone seeking exceptional Asian fusion cuisine.

We had the sea bass wraps appetizer, the shrimp tempura roll and the ny strip steak with asparagus on the side. The wraps were amazing, we polished everything. The service was ok. Also had 'all tied up' mocktail and it was good. It was annoying that server didn't bring plates and cutlery to table until we requested. Then steak was served with no knives and we had to wait awhile to flag our server down.

Absolutely beautiful place! Food was good -- the pad thai was my favorite, but everything I tried was yummy. Bartenders were quick and the drinks were good, though I do wish they had a cocktail list upstairs to make ordering something a bit more "special" easier. DJ was playing good music.Overall, a cool place to come with a big group of friends to end a fun evening downtown.

Great food, but that's where the positives end. Service is slow and careless, the staff is clueless and rude, and the place is completely inaccessible for disabled customers. If you don't mind being ignored and struggling to get basic accommodations, the food might be worth it--but otherwise, take your business elsewhere.

Went back here for a friend's birthday and had a wonderful time. We tried the sushi, grilled asparagus, wagyu gyozas and a main and loved them all! We were seated by the door on a colder night away from the main area after a longer wait which was not ideal, but we made the most of it!
