Entenmann's Thrift Cake Bakery

I'm so happy that I found the last Entenmann's Bakery outlet in metro Detroit. There used to be an Entenmann's Bakery outlet in Warren that closed around 2014. This store is a trip down memory lane for me because my mom would take me to the Warren outlet when I was a kid to buy bread, muffins, and other Entenmann's baked goods for a fraction of the price at grocery stores. The store isn't as good as it used to be but it's still a great place to shop for deals on baked goods. Back in the day, the shelves were stocked with so many Entenmann's products as well as other local products like Better Made potato chips. It looks like things have changed since Entenmann's was acquired by Bimbo Bakeries which also owns Sara Lee. Now you will find Brownberry and Sara Lee bread, Thomas' English Muffins, and sweets made by Bimbo, Marinela, and Entenmann's. Most of what is on the shelves has a sell-by date within a week of purchase and only costs $1. Items that are close to their expiration dates are on racks that are buy one get one free. There should be more of these outlets available, especially now with so many people struggling financially. I saw a man in front of me in line who had an EBT card and was able to buy two full bags of bread and muffins for under $10. These are amazing prices for families on a budget or anyone who just wants to save money! As an added bonus, service was very friendly and helpful. I was given a free packet of sweets on my way out. One suggestion I have is that the store should open on the weekend. Google states that it is only open on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. However, a sign on the door states that it is open Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Service is very poor, every time I visit they are not welcoming or friendly! And make me wish I never took the time to stop in!

Very low on stuff. Cashier was rude s as all could be. No smile, said hello to her! She saiid nothing in return! Not professional at all, poor for business. Need new cashier's!

I love the selection of bread they have with awesome prices if u are on a budget this is a great place to shop

Great place to shop .. they are a thrift , so they get what the stores don't sell .. this is their busy season even school starts to end of year .. so worth it .. walked out with 8 loaves of bread for $5.. can't beat it .. Entenmann's are $2.. yum

Amazing deals on bread and other baked books from Entaenmann's, Brownberry, Thomas' and more. They also have Boboli pizza crusts at an amazing price!

Cheap! For prepackaged junk food Entenmann's fills a niche, slightly loftier than Little Debbie or Hostess. Spendier, but not here.I love the chocolate doughnuts or mini bites muffins in a pinch, my parents are devotees of the cheese filled crumb coffee cake. My husband likes anything he can get his hot mitts on. I have also used a pound cake or two to fudge a shortcake creation, either the all butter or sour cream versions work nicely. This kind of stuff just makes my husband very happy indeed, it's easy to throw into his lunchbox. Items are hit or miss availability and freshness wise (check dates) but you will not spend much to find out.

I was actually headed for another store but missed the turn so I was looking for a place where I could pull over and look at the map to find my way and found myself in the parking lot of Entenmann's. I decided as long as I was parked I would get out and go in. It broke my heart that I didn't need to buy any bread because they sure had lots of it for great prices! But I'm staying in a motel and don't even have a toaster. I did buy a couple of small bags of better made potato chips for $0.99 each and one package of whole wheat English muffins to eat with some cheese I had from Pinconning. It was a buy one get one free but I didn't need two so I gave the second package to my favorite motel maid. If I lived in this area I would do all my bread buying here! And on top of the great prices the lady who worked at the counter was especially nice, too.

I have been visiting this location for several years and want to comment on people's comments. I have found the employees to be extremely helpful throughout the years. Yes, they all have days when they are overworked and over stressed. Try to have a bit of understanding in those cases. Most of the employees are friendly each time I have been there.Is it always perfect? No, it is not. I may not be greeted with a smile or a hello, but the employees do their jobs effectively and the inexpensive prices more than make up for it.

The place has good deals, but their hours are terrible! They are open 8 to 5 during the week and never on the weekend! Hard to visit if you have a job
