Going to numerous Lions and Tigers games over the years, I was always curious about Elwood. The appearance, both in and out, give off the impression that it's an above average establishment, plus it's typically busy during business hours. My wife ordered a rum and Coke that was mainly Coke. I asked for caramelized onions on my burger but they were barely cooked. The chicken sandwich was extremely bland, as were the fries. Needless to say, Elwood fell short of my expectations. I'll probably never come back here, but I've definitely had far worse experiences at other restaurants.

Wow. I haven't reviewed Elwood's? Crazy. Elwood is a very convenient location when attending events at Ford Field or Comerica Park. It is located right across from both of them and it's connected to the parking garage. Now, you're going to pay about $40 to park there, but to me it's worth it. You don't have to park there of course but it's super convenient. They have a small indoor area and a patio area. They get very busy so plan to get there early! They have live music at times as well. When there have been really big games, they have taken over one of the parking garage levels and brought in porta potties and big screens to watch the game on. Honestly, that was one of my favorite times there. The food is typical. Nothing super amazing but it's good. Great place to meet up with people who may drive separately. Just get there early or you'll never get a table. Enjoy!

I can't say I've ever eaten here. But I've had many a beers here. This to me a place that epitomizes opening day for me. If I go to an opening day, this is where I have to be. Before and after games, this place is busting out. I can get so crowded in here, but you can feel the energy and the righteousness from the pregame excitement. I was first introduced to this place when I was in college. It's been a regular place to go to every opening day. However, that seems to be the same for so many others. It's always a good time here and the beer is flowing. Lots of laughs and people and chatter.

I'm still sitting here and couldn't wait to put up a review! It's opening weekend so it's busy but our waiter is great. Very attentive and sweet. And this is probably the best burger I've had in years. This is my first time here and I'll definitely be back!

2019-09-12. Elwood Bar & Grill.Superiorly located on Adams at the corner of Brush St., Elwood Bar & Grill is right in between Comerica Park and Ford Field. With the GEM parking structure directly behind them, they offer validated parking to their customers on non-game days. During game days, parking is $20 cash only, paid upfront. There are several surface lots at half the price, all within a block away.Inside the place is small and tight. There is bar seating and tables for small parties. Outside, they have a large patio with picnic tables and patio umbrellas. The picnic tables seat 6 comfortably or 8 at a tight fit. We were 20, so we spanned over three tables with 8 at mine.Their menu is limited consisting mainly of pub fare. Burgers, wings, hoagies, chicken fingers, and the like. We were there prior to the double header with the Yankees, and the place was packed! I wanted to keep the meal quick and simple, so I went with the lamb burger.Lamb Burger. The meal came with fries, a pickle spear, tzaziki, and two small slices of watermelon. The Burger was topped with lettuce, onion, tomato, and a block of feta cheese to complement the tzaziki and completing the Greek theme. It took a while for our meals to come and they missed mine. When I brought it to our servers attention, she told me that it would be a few minutes more. This pretty much confirmed to me that the order was not placed with the others.Tick tock, tick tock. The rest of my party had finished their meals and mine was still a no-show. I was flagging down our server to have her cancel my order, but when she came, lo and behold, she had my burger. Um, about 20 minutes late... By now it was 10 minutes before 1st pitch. Not wanting to make a scene in front of everyone in my party, I politely asked that she pack it to go so I can bring it to my car as it was game time... I guess I'd need to eat some game park fare. Breakfast consisted of a coffee and my growling stomach made a conscious effort at reminding me. By the time I reached my vehicle, I succumbed to the growls, and decided I'd wolf down just a few bites to tide me over. I'm not sure how much the hunger pangs influenced my tastebuds, but the burger was absolutely delicious! The meat was cooked to a perfect medium and there was only a slight gaminess to it to let you know it was Venison. It was way juicier than expected for lamb, so I'm pretty certain it was mixed with some beef (which must have also parried some of the gaminess). The feta and raw onion were actually excellent complements, adding both flavour and texture. The fries were between shoestring and regular cut with the skin on. They were a bit soggy when I got to them but I imagine they would be deliciously crispy had the heat from the carryout box not suffocate them.5 stars for the burger, 1 Star for the service (I don't care how busy you are, if you took an order, you should have placed it with the kitchen). 3 stars overall. If You would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... Bon Appétit!

This is a staple place in the Detroit sports area. Whenever we go to a Tigers, Lions, Red Wings or Pistons game this is where we start out first. We have come to know the staff and it's a joy to see them everytime. The beer is cold and much cheaper than the stadium prices. If you're hungry grab yourself some chicken tenders; you can't go wrong. See you next game!

The babies in the window are screaming and I want to go home.Forgive the flashback. This is a cool corner restaurant with a cool beer selection and decent burgers and such. It's classy. It's relatively cheap considering the location...right across from Tigers Comerica park. Get here early and grab a nosh before the game. Better and cheaper than the food at the game. Also, the bar was established in the 30s (you'll look love the art deco bar) and it has a sense of history. They moved the place in the late 90s. I love what the area is becoming. God bless the old and new.Hail Elwood. And hail the thing growing under my car. Aieeh aieeh

the food was just okay for how expensive it was. we got a sandwich and a quesadilla, 2 drinks, around $80 with tip. okay if you want the convenience of its location but there's better options for cheaper around the corner.

Love the location of this place! Very reasonable priced food especially so close to comerica and ford field. Service was really good and the food came out quick. I just got the chicken fingers, which were amazing, but other people in my party raved about the chicken blt sandwich!
