The catfish melted in my mouth and the banana pudding was as good as my grandmother made! I'm coning back!!!

Food is the bomb!!! Best kept secret in soul food period.......I only wish I knew about this place years ago, Good people, Great Food!!!!!

If I could take away a star someone else gave it I would. Old chicken apparently sitting around until sold. Not even tasty at all. Limp fries, soggy cole slaw. A thorougly disappointing experience. the monetary cost was $7.47 the non monetary cost was immeasurable.1 star cause it's mandatory to give it a star so I guess because they spelled the name on the sign correctly.

Elam Brothers is a hometown original! God centered, family owned - you're always treated with respect and there's nothing like their down home soul food. I go often for the collard greens the desserts are phenomenal!

I've always been a fan of Faym-us and Chicken Shack. Today, I decided to try something a little closer to home. The experience started when calling in my order. The woman who answered the phone (who I believe also cooked our dinner and cashed me out) was very pleasant and explained what whiting is since I was not familiar with that kind of fish. We ordered a "veritable plethora" of items including ribs, shrimp and whiting. My husband really liked the ribs - they were nice and smokey and slathered in sauce. The shrimp was very good. Medium to large size shrimp that were fresh and yummy. The whiting wasn't my favorite because it didn't carry home as well (hot) as I would like. It also has skin on one side, which sometimes gives me the heebie jeebies...not the fault of the restaurant...just a personal issue. For sides, we ordered mac and cheese (my daughter is a connoissour and said it was delish), mushrooms (perfectly decadent and even better when dipped in cocktail sauce) and cole slaw. My hubby thought the tarter was a little lemony for him...I personally like my tarter a little chunkier. To each their own. The bullet proof glass half wall is a bit unnerving. I asked the nice woman who waited on me if she has ever had a problem. She said they have owned the place for 25 years, and never had an issue.

My family is a huge fan of this restaurant. My mom worked in the GM plant and this business was always packed. After the plant closing and the economy dropping business slowed down. However that never changed their great customer service and food. I love the whitening fish dinners with yams and collard greens. They good ribs and their fried chicken is very good BIG WINGS! They also offer some good home cooked deserts. During the Woodward Dream Cruise they have the BBQ grills going outside. I have traveled all over the States and to other countries as well. Whenever anyone asks me where I'm from I say Pontiac and if you ever make it there you have to try this place! Whenever I go back to visit friends and family I make it a point to stop in and say hi then place my order.

Great food, customer service is excellent. I had the baked chicken dinner with dressing and it is great!

They forgot my drink but I didn't care, food was amazing. Great ribs, great Mac and cheese, great chicken, great yams, great everything! Very friendly employees and clean restaurant. I would recommend this place to anyone. A LITTLE bit over priced but that's understandable during a pandemic. TIP ANYWAYS:)

BBQ rib dinner with beans and onion rings as my two sides, and it was delicious. Very generous portion, I'm hooked. Next time I'm getting the 15 PC liver, Yum
