I'm familiar with El Fogon because they have a location out in Rochester Hills and I drive by this place a million times because it's a mile from work. Being that I'm on this side of town for a few days, I figured it was finally time to check it out.The location's much bigger with more seating than the Rochester Hills one. Nicely decorated with ample seating, you order at the counter and they run the food out to you. Not sure if they have waitresses or not, but that's how they were running it when I was there. I asked if they had Birria tacos and the man behind the counter said they do, just not on the menu. I ordered the taco dinner with shredded beef, rice, beans and a glass of water. I got served chips and dip which was okay, but the salsa was a bit runny for my liking. The "hot" salsa was good, and wasn't overpowering. Eventually, my food came out and it was a huge portion! I was impressed with all three tacos, rice and beans. It was only $13 on the menu, so I was happy with how much food I was served.The beef was a little on the dry side but still fairly good. Rice and beans were decent, but the music was a bit on the louder side. I docked a star for the meat being a bit dry and louder music considering it wasn't really necessary. The man who rang me up was super nice and friendly and also went through the menu with me since I had a few questions before ordering.Overall, a decent meal for the price and I'd return in the future.

Pretty good authentic Mexican food. Service speed needs some work though.We met a couple friends here for dinner one night. Inside it's nothing too special. A standard sit down restaurant, nothing really made it "Mexican themed" anywhere, maybe because it's in a strip mall.We got beverages from our server at the table. We were still deciding on what to order, which was a mistake I guess because she never came back. The place isn't very big so it was strange that she just didn't come back. So we went up to the counter to order. It seemed pretty easy and we went to go sit back down as the woman behind the counter said it would be brought to our table.Over an hour went by and nothing came out. We went up to the counter and she couldn't find our order slip. Not great... She re-submitted the order and we made sure she didn't charge our cards again and the order came out in about fifteen minutes. The food was pretty could, so it was a shame that everything else was pretty bland and frustrating because they had some pretty good food.

Discovered this gem of a place via DoorDash one lazy night and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. This location is a little further out of our normal radius but they make the meals quick and even with it being delivery, everything was hot and fresh. I have been obsessed with their birria tacos. From the first time we ordered we knew this was going to be one of our new go-tos. Since then we've had it 3 more times and every time adding something new to our order. Can't comment on the building itself yet, but we do plan on making a visit in person so we can meet the rockstars that make our orders!

Stumbled across El Fogon recently when ordering via door dash. I thought I was ordering from another place, but really glad I came across this place! The birria tacos are delicious and the dipping sauce with it is just as good. They are very filling. The sopes are good but not amazing. I have been spoiled with a local food truck who hand make sopes to order, but these are acceptable. It was piled high with toppings.Of the two shrimp items I ordered, they are generous with the meat. The shrimp is diced which is great so there is an even distribution of shrimp. I enjoyed the guacamole, but it had far too much onion, so it really took away from the rest of it and I did not end up enjoying it as much as I wanted to. As someone who loves onion, I believe guacamole should never have as much onion as they are adding. Overkill. The chips that came along with it were clearly made in store and were great and not overly salty. A variety of textures with these chips. The churros were probably some of the best I've had in this area. You get 3 per order. They are crunchy and caramelized on the outside, and soft and chewy on the inside. It's like biting into a little piece of heaven.I have yet to go into the establishment, but my delivery's have been spot on each time and I would totally recommend checking them out of you're looking for a change in pace with your Mexican cuisine.

We wanted tacos, I'm so glad we found this place. The staff was absolutely amazing, nice and super accommodating. My granddaughter doesn't eat "regular food" so we brought with us store bought mac and cheese, the staff was kind enough to make it for us. She was then upset that the color of that noodles didn't match the photo on the box. (She's 3, she wanted the noodles orange, not yellow lol). They were kind enough to bring her fries with a queso and a ketchup dip on the side.My son had shrimp tacos with flour tortillas, I had 4 tacos with corn tortillas. They were SO GOOD!!! I had four different proteins, they were all tender, flavorful and delicious. Indefinitely found my new taco spot!

Delicious!!! Authentic! Must go!! The food was delicious ! Made to order and came out piping hot! Staff very friendly and accommodating! A super casual place with no-frills, but the food !

Good food and great service. There are so many meat options that I totally forgot what I had and be prepared to be stuffed. The market table offers good side dish options and it's hard to not over eat Ambiance is great for date night or celebration. If you are not a big fan of meat, I won't suggest this place. Due to the amount of food and meat, I will not say this is your everyday eat out restaurant. Otherwise, I highly recommend. Disclaimer, I had only eaten dinner there and not yet try their lunch option.

My mom and I had lunch here. We had hoped to have our first-ever Mexican buffet but apparently that is shut down until April. We each ordered a fajita bowl from the specials board and they were delicious. I got shrimp while she chose chicken. The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. The bowl came in a fried tortilla bowl. I would say that the chips could be missed, although the salsas were tasty and homemade.We were the only people in the restaurant and I'm not sure but I think our server may have also prepared our food. He was quite attentive for how much he was doing. As for ambiance, there are some things to be desired. The front of the restaurant, where we were sitting, is jam packed with mismatched booths - I don't think heavier people or anyone using a walker could get down the aisle. However, there were other places to sit that would be more accessible.

Ordered Mexican Burrito - Description says "12" tortilla filled with your choice of meat, grilled veggies, cheese and house special sauce. Served with rice and beans. I expected a burrito with meat, vegetables, cheese and sauce, with rice and beans on the side. However the rice and bean are inside the burrito. Not a major deal for me, however I do try to cut rice out whenever I can, which is why I was looking for the rice on the side. Aside from my mis-interpretation of the description, the food has been very good, fast, well priced and the staff is very friendly.
