Obsessed with El Charros! We moved to AZ in 2005, and it's still the same, visiting 20 years later. The puffy tacos, enchiladas and cheese covered burritos - oh my! Do not miss this MI gem. Also, clean, friendly and cheap.

I used to love El Charro, but I was so disappointed to learn that much of their food is microwaved. A friend who worked there shared insights that changed my perception. Whatever happened to made-to-order freshness?I appreciate the friendliness, atmosphere, and helpfulness of the staff, which is why I gave two stars instead of one. However, I urge El Charro to consider a shift towards freshly made dishes. I'd gladly wait an extra 5-10 minutes for a meal that truly reflects quality, especially for the price. Let's bring back the authentic dining experience!

Home of the puffy taco!This place gets cramped, because people love their puffy tacos. Myself, I can only eat 1, cause I usually fill up on chips and salsa. Service was great, even with them training a new girl at our table, food & drinks came quickly, and our orders were correct. Take my mom here every year for her birthday. This year she got 86% off her meal!

The food is always great. It can be hit or miss service wise and depending on how busy they are. It was very chaotic on cinco de mayo but that was expected, I do like how they had music and a good waiting system. They sent us a text when our table was ready so we could wait in the car. I recommend the puffy tacos and any form of margaritas. The fried ice cream is a great sweet treat after.

We were craving some puffy taco and el charro helped us out. It was fantastic! Haven't been there in like six years was very pleased with their Botana, fajitas, puffy tacos, chicken, puffy, taco fajitas. Service was unbelievable and the ambience actually was pretty cool. Was very impressed with the food. That's hard to do with me. So I found a new Mexican spot. Hell yeah!

I have eaten there before and am not a fan of the interior. Small, crowded, a bit loud and really could use a refresh. The food, on the other hand, is some of the best Mexican in the area-excluding of course the Mexican town neighborhood in Detroit. I had a hankering for a wet burrito and El Charo did not disappoint. I ordered mine with extra sauce which, to me, was the perfect amount. It was good, I may have another today for lunch.

Ordered carry out and was so disappointed. They had good reviews from co workers and the was excited to try. I had ordered one of my favorite Mexican dishes Chili Rellenos. This dish it's a deep fried poblano pepper stuffed with cheese. What I got was a poblano pepper with rubbery cheese on top. No breading or cheese filling. Looked nothing like the picture online. I split some other food like puffy tacos , small nacho and enchiladas with a friend and everything was so bland the cheese was rubbery and the puffy tacos tasted stale. I under stand the nacho was cheaper but it was crazy it was essentially a big tortilla with some cheese and a few jalapeños. Wasn't even close to what I was hoping for and staff was kind of rude when I called to let them know we didn't get our side of beans and rice. Won't be visiting here again.

The puffy taco is amazing. The rest of the menu is above average. The prices are also not bueno! Ever since Covid their prices have sky rocketed (so did many others). I don't feel the quality is as good as it used to be. I used to rate it as a go to for Mexican, but now there is better competition in the area and less expensive. Good food. Decent portions. High prices.

I've been eating at ElCharro's for 46 years since it was a little place in Frazer. It used to be my favorite Mexican food. My carry out today was barely edible. It wasn't even close to what it used to be. Very sad, I will never eat at this El Charro again.
