I finally got my Honduran breakfast, and it was outstanding! Scrambled eggs, sweet plantains, refried beans (Central American red beans), a slice of soft cheese, and Honduran crema. Also got a bean, cheese and jalapeño pupusa which is served with curtido and their homemade salsa. And had some fantastic Honduran coffee. All fantastic! Phenomenal lunch! Thanks Al P for posting your pics. Will definitely visit again soon!

We had the best time checking this place out. The waitress (who spoke very little English) was helping us through the menu and made several delicious recommendations.Enjoyed taste-tests of their juices (aquas fresca). I honestly can't even tell you exactly what we ordered besides p

Most unique hidden gem in SW Detroit you must try. Love this place!! Great tostones (deep fried mashed plantain), pupusas, and my all time favorite Sopes de pollo and de asada. This is a hidden gem in Mexicantown. Oh and the prices are great too.

SODA DE BANANA ... Im so happy to stumble onto this late night while wanting to try something different. I was so happy to see behind the counter that they had Zambos which is the best tasting chips ever lol im so happy. Lot's of seating didnt have any wait basically like seat yourself kinda thing but not sure if thats because we came in late 45min before closing i think. The food is authentic with a little twist, the enchiladas was better than the Baleada. I'm used to having longer strip with soft cheese and hard cheese which was different in regards to taste but overall still delicious. I would like to go back and try something else on their menu. I wanted to Jugo de tamarindo but they were out, i'm curious to know how it's made because i love that juice. The portions are small and the chairs and seating area a bit outdated but would be going back again

First off: the food here is great. Definitely authentic. We started off with yuca fries, which came with almost a salsa-type dipping sauce. I ordered a pork tamale which was super thick and delicious, and we each ordered a chicken pupusa. The slaw on the pupusas were very good. We also split an order of flautas and those were also very tasty, they were topped with some sort of salsa and cotija cheese. Waitservice was attentive, as well. The only item that I ordered that I cannot recommend is the horchata. It tasted very strange compared to other ones I've had and I'm pretty sure they just used a powder for it - when my boyfriend got to the end of his drink, you could see powder residue. The reason for three stars instead of four is because when we showed up originally, every table that didn't have people sitting in it was piled with plates that hadn't yet been cleared - the waiter had to clear a booth for us. I used the bathroom a few times while there, too, and it was a weird setup... The stall was made out of wood and at 5 foot 4, I could see over the top of it. There were also some flies around and one in the bathroom as well, and some trash that hadn't yet been taken out.I would come back here for the food, especially the pupusas, but some of the other things were off-putting. I'm not the type that needs a fancy ambience, especially if the food is good, but still.

I came here with my family of 7 to eat dinner. Immediately I knew we were in for a treat, as I sensed a strange attitude from the girl at the counter. When it came time to order my brother went up to the counter first. The girl at the front gave him a hard time for asking to pay for his food separately and insisted that it would be easier for us all to pay together on 1 bill. This made no sense to me considering we were all paying in advance before receiving any of our food and it would be much more complicated for us to have to split up $150 worth of food on our own. Eventually she allowed him to order and pay. When it came time for my order I ordered my food with a second woman that came to the front to assist. She was nice and polite. I ordered my food and a horchata to drink, but asked specifically for multiple waters because I was severely dehydrated. A few minutes later, we received our horchata which was so painfully sweet. I watched as they made horchatas in the back and noticed they were using about a 2:1 syrup to water ratio. As I sipped the horchata, I became increasingly more dehydrated. Roughly 20 minutes past and I never received the water(s) I ordered. I walked to the front to ask again and stood there waiting for about 5 minutes as the 2 women ignored my presence. Eventually I got my water. A few minutes later as one of the women dropped food off at our table, my brother asked for waters for the rest of our table. The girl sighed and said "how many waters?..." and to refrain from being pests we said 4 even though there were 6 people waterless at the table. She said "four... okay I'm going to have to charge you for those". We agreed to pay for the water but she never ended up charging us for them. It seems odd to me to charge a table that just spend over $100 on food for Detroit city tap water with extra lead in it. The food was fine but nothing to write in my diary about. It might seem like I'm making a big deal over such frivolous details but even Starbucks will give you free water. Unfortunately its a 2 out of 5 for me.

I used to love this place and the food is good. Solid pupusas. Then the last time I was here someone was given my order on accident, brought it back while I was waiting, and the restaurant tried to give me the food that someone else had already left with, opened, and brought back. When I said I didn't want returned food, they acted like I was being weird. Got a refund and haven't been back.

Wow! Amazing food at such a low price! I ordered a pupusa with chicken and a baleada. My daughter ordered a tamal with chicken. The tortillas and masa tasted so homemade, and the salsa was excellent! The waitress spoke to us in Spanish, which made the experience even better:)When our bill came, I could have sworn there was some mistake. It was only $11, and we were full. What an affordable, delicious lunch! Can't wait to go again!
