Stopped by El Angel to pick up a quick meal. Seems to be mainly a taqueria with a small market in the back. Order and pay at the counter and wait for your food.Asada Burrito ($8.99) - Filled with a good amount of cheese, rice, beans, onion, and cilantro. The carne asada is meaty, not sure if any marinade is used because it's quite beefy and salty. There's some corn and peas, maybe part of the rice? The beef is way too salty and burns your tongue as you eat. The meat quality didn't seem to be the highest. The balance of ingredients is good - they don't skimp on the meat. The burrito is cut in half and comes with some chips and salsa on the side. Weight: 19oz.I think it's an okay burrito in general. I do appreciate that they use rice and beans instead of lettuce/tomato like a lot of other places around here. Maybe their other meats are better?

We tried this place out for lunch, take out. The lunch special hit the spot! The chicken taco was super flavorful and tender. The carnitas is the best one in the area! It was tender and not greasy at all! The steak taco was another good one! We will be sure to come back. It's completely incognito. I've passed this place 300x and never knew there was a restaurant here!

I ended up here because of Yelp, after reading their new and hot places email... it's bit out of my way, but glad I made the visit. I'll say this was the cheapest meal I've had!! I went and ordered the following:- 1 Pastor Taco- 1 Asada Taco- 1 order of Rice and Beans- 1 pico de gallo - 1 diet cokeThen I ended up ordering extra pastor and asada taco. The Best:- Asada Taco, Pastor Taco and Pico de gallo!! Taco's are simple, meat topped with chopped onions and cilantro with a wedge of lemon. The beef was perfectly cooked, juicy, yet bit salty, but salty is what brought the flavors together for the taco. Pork was excellent as well and the pico de gallo was fresh and it seemed like it was made to order. The gallo goes well with the chips they provide, I preferred the gallo over their other salsa's that were provided. The rice and beans were okay. As I said, this was the cheapest meal I had, 4 tacos, rice & beans and a drink for $10 before taxes. The service was excellent, plenty of parking in the back or on the street (free 1 hour parking). If you are in the area, I would highly recommend you stop by!!

I'd call it 3.5 stars, but rounding it up to 4 is OK, too. 3.5 is more accurate. After the stratospheric heights of Galindo's last week, a fellow Yelper messaged me telling me that the best al pastor was at El Angel in Lincoln Park. Long story short, he's dead wrong. The al pastor here is *fine*, but on its very best day, it *might* break into the Top 5 al pastor tacos in the area, by taking the #5 position. It's not *touching* Galindo's. Taqueria Alameda in Westland has *nothing* to worry about. Carnival Market rests easy. Others, too, can rest on their laurels. While this is better-than-decent, it ain't throwing anybody else out of the ring.Their asada, to be honest, was a trifle bit better than Galindo's, but that's not to say that I want it again...it was still pretty "meh". It's too bad that steak has to be reduced to giving up its beefy flavor. Still, I appreciated that they had spiced it appropriately, and it got eaten.Their pico de gallo passes muster, with probably a grade of C+/B-, but again: Galindo's blew it out of the water, here. It's quite inexpensive, so that's definitely a plus, but I'd rather pay more for better pico de gallo. The facility needs some help. It's...meager. Oh, and the restroom is out of order. And the beverages are pretty expensive for Jarritos. Look: it really isn't bad! It's fine! But would I come here again when Galindo's is just down the road? Or Campestre? No, unless maybe it's 10 Tacos for $10 day or something like that. They're worth that...but they're not worth the same amount of money as Galindo's fantastic stuff.

Great family run business. I ordered a chicken Milanesa torta and fries. It was outstanding and came with fresh, hand-cut fries, two great salsas, and a pickled jalapeño pepper.

I find myself returning to an old favorite hobby of mine, trying all the new taquerias that appear, and I'm glad to have found this one. There isn't much to say because there isn't any need to. It's a basic no frills taqueria, counter space, some tables, grill and some store items in the rear.I asked for carnitas, but only on the weekends, so we got two al pastor burritos. I could smell the pork cooking on the grill and just kinda new these would be tasty and I wasn't wrong. They weren't over poweringly spicy and not too hot, but super flavorful and the guy nailed the pork - great texture, great mix with onions and cilantro on mine. I even enjoyed the tortilla chips they included, buttery and crisp. If I had one complaint maybe, it's not a super big burrito but neither was it too pricey. I will definitely be back, gotta try the carnitas!
