Edulis Grill

This place is AMAZING! We started with the soup. Be sure to squeeze the lemon into it. It was delicious. Seasoned and the perfect texture. Michigan weather would make me want this type of soup on a regular basis. The garlic sauce is a thick dip that was great for dipping the falafel and the fries. You have the option to get your fries seasoned- do that! It has a little spice but it's perfect. The falafel was perfectly cooked. Not too dry with a little crunch. I would definitely order those on each visit. The sandwich was filling and stuffed full of perfectly seasoned chicken. The garlic dip and pickles were spread throughout the inside of the sandwich as well. The thin bread was both soft and crisp. We ended with a hot black tea with cardamom. It was a great way to finish the meal. Although it is not a profile I am used to, I enjoyed it. The service was top tier! The young man was so friendly and polite. He offered suggestions and was quick with our food. It was a fantastic experience. I would highly recommended this place. Be sure to check it out.

This place has been on my bucket list for quite some time, and I am so glad that I finally visited. The food did not disappoint and was fantastic just as I expected. I had some outstanding green lentil soup, Iraqi beef kebab, rice, and samoon. And I absolutely loved the tea which is flavored with cardamom. I truly enjoyed my conversation with Ali who takes care of the front of the house. He provided great service, and I appreciated his hospitality. He treated me just like family. Just fantastic service by Ali with Baba cooking in the kitchen and serving up great dishes. Fantastic experience. I cannot wait to visit again to get some Iraqi breakfast. Truly a destination drive!

As we drove into the small parking lot beside Edulis Grill and opened the car doors, we were immediately greeted with the delicious smell of charred vegetables and meat. At this point, we were having a pretty late lunch and we could tell we were in for a treat. We walked in and found it to be relatively empty, with a total of 7 booths but only one occupied. After we sat down, Ali, the do-it-all man of the restaurant, told us that the menu was going to change soon and they were going to remove the baba ganoush and tabbouli along with some other adjustments. Originally we wanted to try the Bagila Bil Hihin, but they didn't have the fava beans ready since it was well past breakfast time. Instead we went with the other recommended breakfast item along with another Iraqi unique dish.As we were waiting for our food, we got some soup to start offLentil Soup (Complimentary) - This was a nice warming soup with soft stewed lentils, spiced with a lot of cumin and served with two large wedges of lemon for you to squeeze in as wanted.Mahklama ($16.99) - This dish consisted of scrambled eggs mixed with kabob meat, parsley, tomato and onion. The flavor mainly consisted of cumin and turmeric. The texture was pretty soft and tender throughout. We found that it was perhaps a bit undersalted but still tasted good overall. Iraqi Shish Kabob ($21.99) - This included four skewers of pretty simple ground beef mixed with salt and other seasonings, then grilled to perfection and sprinkled with sumac. The exterior had a very nice crust that added texture and the interior was some of the most tender kabob we have ever eaten. The meat here was honestly absolutely amazing - better than any grilled kafta I've had at most Lebanese restaurants around the area. The taste was fantastic, a perfect mix of char, mellow beef, onion, and spices. They don't add parsley or mint, so there were no herbal notes. The kabob was served with onion and tomato that were perfectly charred on the grill. The onion had cooked enough from the heat that it only had a small raw bite, and the tomato was pretty softened from the heat. There were also some mini sliced cucumber, pickles, and a big bowl of rice pilaf (choice of rice or fries) to complete the meal. Each person also gets a samoon and an entire piece of Iraqi pita/Arabic bread/khubz to eat their main with. I think they buy these in the morning from a local bakery because they are served cold. If there was one improvement, it would be to warm up the bread a bit.At the end of the meal, they serve you a complimentary cup of a very nice black chai, filled with the fragrance and flavor of various spices (cardamom and cinnamon perhaps?). It's served unsweetened, but there is a container of sugar on the table to adjust to preference. By the time we left, the restaurant had completely filled up and the employees were pretty overwhelmed at that point trying to clear tables, bring out food, cash people out, and take phone orders. Only Ali was working the front and there were only two people cooking in the kitchen. Just be aware that this is a family establishment, so things might take longer than usual when the restaurant start filling up. Side Note: Edulis Grill serves each customer a bottle of water at no charge. Most other mom and pop Middle Eastern restaurants in the area charge for water.Overall Edulis Grill has some really great Iraqi food. I highly recommend the shish kabob. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

The combination plate was probably the best I've ever had. First time I've ever left a review about any restaurant but this place was just too good.

I ordered DoorDash for the first time from this restaurant and picked it up myself . When I walked in the young man working was very friendly and had my order ready to go before I even told him my name . He made me feel very welcomed. He even offered me hot tea on the house which was very kind of him. I ordered the beef shawarma sandwich and beef kabob sandwich . Both were amazing and had an authentic Iraqi flavor which reminded me of home (Iraq). I will definitely be returning and becoming a regular here .

Our third visit always a full house of Iraqi families enjoying food from the homeland. Bagila bil Dihin truly deserves five stars Fried Eggs over Broad Beans over soaked pita bread and topped with hot oil. Bagila is the Iraqi word for beans, broad beans or lava beans to be exact. Couldn't eat it all, perfect for breakfast next day just added more eggs . No one does breakfast better than Iraq.Makhlama is a dish of soft cooked eggs atop a skillet of Iraqi Kebab with onions, parsley, tomatoes, the addition of lemon juice. Just trust me on this one outstanding Delicious . I stuffed inside half of Samoon traditional Iraqi bread like a Iraqi Breakfast Burrito . We started with great Lentils Soup and Iraqi Salad two favorites of ours. Only Father and Son team runs the restaurant, Baba in the kitchen and Ali front of house. The very best Middle Eastern food anywhere that will never get a mention in any media. They don't pay those high priced Fake Foodie's for reviews and photos, so prices are 30 percent lower than those paid to play restaurants in Dearborn. Wonderful service. The owner is so kind and the food was great. Possibly the best falafel I've had. Gave me some soup to try and didn't charge.

This is a great hole in the wall middle eastern restaurant. The food here is absolutely incredible and big portions. I had the roasted half-chicken with rice, and my friend enjoyed the Iraqi kabob. The hummus and bread were one of the best I've had. The service was amazing the server was incredibly kind and attentive. Even though it was busy, they brought us complimentary lentil soup while we waited, and the food arrived surprisingly quickly. To top it off, they also treated us to complimentary tea. I'm only visiting, but if I lived here, this would definitely be one of my regular spots. I highly recommend!

So friendly! Food was hot, fresh, bountiful, and tasty. I could eat a whole bowl of the rice on its own. 2 types of flatbreads and delicious lentil soup came with our entrees. Deserves all the stars!
