I hadn't been here in years, but we were at the HF museum so we decided to pop in. I actually liked the raspberry beer quite a bit but they don't have a ton of options sadly. The space feels like a brewery in the classic sense but it's not my favorite. It looks like they just found the most random space and got some tables from a thrift store. No food which is too bad but not a big deal. The bathrooms are truly awful.

I have been to Downey a few times. The beers are good and the bartenders have always been very friendly. Large taproom and never had an issue with parking. Not far off the expressway so quite easy to get visit on your way though.

This was my first time coming here. He has been here before but we both needed tagabrews from this location so we stopped in. I was very surprised at the size of this place. It's like a giant warehouse with things to see in every corner. We got seats at the bar and ordered a couple of beers. It was a rainy Tuesday evening. So it was not super busy. But even if it was this place was quite large. Beer was good, service was good! What more can I say? I would definitely come back!

I bought a Groupon for this place and wasn't too sure about because I JD never heard of it before, but I absolutely loved this Brewery!!! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is so laid back. The walls were covered in art work. They seem to very involved with the community and had flyers for an event they are hosting to help someone. They also had a flyer for Bob Ross painting events, which I will most certainly be at!! And let's not forget the most important part of the brewery...the beer. I loved both of the IPAs, the Razz and the the Cider. It's hard to find a good cider that is not too sweet. This one was prefect!

First off, check out their website before visiting for helpful instructions like where to park and for the story of Downey Brewing Company. The parking instructions are quite helpful as there is limited parking in front of the establishment. Only a few spots available and otherwise have to park around the side. If you're a beer lover and enthusiast, then put DWC on your must stop list. Everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. It was great to hear the descriptions about each brew. The Raspberry Radler and Mr. IPA were very good. Even if you do not usually drink a fruited beer, or have never tried one, you should give the Raspberry Radler a try. It is that good of a beer. Love what the family and friends are doing at DWC! There can be nothing but good things and more growth going into the future.

I loved this brewery. Located in an industrial area, I was shocked at the location. You would totally miss this place, if you weren't looking for it. It was a beautiful day and they had the large bay door open. It's a huge brewery with may spaces for sitting. Art work lines the walls from local artists. We were here on a weekday and it wasn't busy at all. We sampled a few of their beers before making our selections. The beertender was great to talk with and we enjoyed learning about the brewery.

Stellar beers in a spartan atmosphere. Mr IPA is solid and the cider is perfect. Go here. Drink beer.

My brother and I stopped by Downey today so I could have a couple of beers before we headed to the airport (after spending a weekend in Detroit). We really enjoyed our time at Downey. This is the kind of brewery I love! It's not a hipster, white subway tiled modern space. It's huge and old-school and traditional. Lots of tables and games and a bar with a TV and great service. And, of course, great beers. I tried a couple - a peach beer and a Pilsner. Both were great. Just a great brewery. If I lived in or near Detroit, I'd be here all the time and I'd bring friends.

I've visited Downey several times since they opened! It's easily one of my favorite places to spend my weekends. I've turned so many friends and coworkers onto them that I'm constantly running into them here! The taproom isn't too difficult to find, although I'll warn it's in an industrial/baron area of Dearborn. You park in the back and enter through the warehouse door. If lucky, you'll be greeted by the official Brew Pup®, Jager. Ahead, you'll see the modest bar area and a variety of seating. There is plenty of room for groups up to about 10. They don't have a kitchen but do offer complimentary bags of chips and bottled water. You're allowed to bring food in from other sources; one of my new favorites is Sal's Pizza. Prices are average/low compared to other breweries, with pints around $5. Everything is served up quickly. They have several board games on a shelf, as well as darts to pass the time. If you want to watch TV, they've got a large one above the bar.My friends and I always enjoy our beers, especially compared to the other brewery located in Dearborn. My favorites are the Yang Stout, One Stout, Yin Stout and Thunderbird IPA. They tend to have something for everyone on the menu. The service has always been phenomenal, with the owners always stopping by our table to say hello and ask how we like the beer. We've even been offered Downey Brewing stickers and magnets! Cashing out is simple with the Square card system, which can text the receipt to your phone. The only improvement I can recommend are changing are their hours. They don't open until 5pm on Saturday. I'm all about weekend day-drinking, so I'd love to see them open around 2pm instead. Small gripe, though.Downey is an incredible family-owned brewery that I am so excited to share with friends and Yelpers alike. Stop in for a beer sometime and see for yourself!
