Donut Chef

Very nice family owned business, service was excellent. They have a large variety of specialised doughnuts. I bought the coconut doughnut, which had plenty of coconut flakes on top and cream in middle. I also got the cherry fritter, which I wish had more cherry flavour or cherry flakes. The place is nice and cozy with couple of seats.

These donuts are phenomenal! I kid you not. I love the eye catching sign outside and the inside has the same orange theme throughout. The woman behind the counter was very sweet and taking care of multiple customers by herself. We went with a toasted coconut cream, glazed twists, m&m, blueberry and a cinnamon sugar. And then got an apple fritter as well; these tasted fresh and they pull apart beautifully. My son doesn't eat anything right now but licked all the cinnamon sugar off of his claimed donut. The apple fritter was one of the better ones we've had. All in all, this is a wonderful little spot and I'm glad we happened upon it. Looking forward to our next visit.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I was greeted and helped right as soon as I walked in! Overwhelmed with all of the amazing options! Their dough so so fluffy, like a pillow of sweetness!! I cannot wait to come back! Thank you!!

The donuts look great, soft and moist. Other than their specialty donuts and the plain glazed, the donuts (such as peanut, cake donuts, sour cream) are much smaller than other donut shops. Their specialty donuts are the same size as Regular donuts at other shops. Price was a hefty $8.99 for the half dozen smaller donuts, including a "larger" specialty donut. Peanut - very moist, cakey texture. Cake itself had some kind of flavoring in it but it wasn't for me. It's not as sweet as most donuts you find elsewhereCinnamon Sugar - also moist, cakey texture, but lacked flavor and sweetness, even with the sugar/cinnamon toppingClassic Glazed - doughy, chewy texture, nicely glazed (not slathered on) but taste was bland to me. Couldn't taste flavor or sweetness in the donut even with the glazeToasted Coconut (specialty donut) - a raised donut cut in half with a custard filling which didn't have much of flavor including the dough portion. We came in here on a Saturday and wanted to try it after having driven by numerous times. The donuts are more of specialty/fun donuts and they look picture perfect. I got the fruity pebbles donut and husband got the vanilla sprinkle donut. We both enjoyed our donuts and thought they tasted very fresh. They are decently big donuts and reasonably priced. We will be back to try some of the other flavors.

YUM!!! Stopped in Sunday morning to see what all the fuss was about! Let me preface this review with I'm not really a donut person... OMG! The cherry chip donut was so delicious! Fresh and cakey with the perfect ratio of almond & cherry flavor. This was definitely the first donut I've eaten so fast in years!! I also tried a bite of both cherry fritter and sour cream donuts. I prefer my fritters to have a bit more of a crunch, but the flavor was there so I'll take it! Small shop with a great selection and some flavors I haven't seen before like strawberry swirl... Friendly on the phone and in person! I'll be back! Love supporting local establishments especially when they are fantastic at their craft!

Donuts with a drive-thru!! Today chose 6 donuts for $15 (included my specialty donut selections) Saw a sign 2 donuts & a coffee $4.50 for another visit The lemon pie was sooooo delicious with its sweet & tart filling

Shelby Twp has needed a great traditional donut place and the Donut Chef is it. Its the perfect combo of cake style and dough style and custard. I wont go to any other place

Donut Chef's was in Roseville (S of 11, on W Gratiot). I would visit many times because their donuts are amazing. I went there one day, and they were gone. :( My son found them at their present location. Yeah!

We love the donut chef awesome people and old world style donuts. Cant get donuts like these everywhere. They have a great varity and flavors. Gotta try some of the specialty with nutella .
