Don Juan Mexican restaurant

This Don Juan location is the only one I go to and love. The food is always fresh and hot. I go for the speedy lunch special. I get the tilapia fish lunch special and it is always on point. I like the rice at this restaurant as well. I'm usually picky about rice, but theirs is great. The service is always really good as well. Waitstaff are always attentive and friendly. I like the decoration and features of the restaurant too. I don't drink alcohol, but I do love their horchata!

We stopped for a Friday night dinner. We had no problem getting a table. I had the crunchy chicken tacos. The tacos were good. Everyone in our party liked their meal. I had a standard Mexican beer.I am mixed on this review. The service was very good. The food was good. The restaurant was clean. On the other hand, it just has such a "chain" feel. Nothing on the menu jumped out as something to try. The drink menu was various concoctions of margaritas in massive bowl shaped glasses. I thought the prices were on the high side for the fare, but not outrageous.Everything as one would expect.

I JUST DON'T GET IT!! What the heck is wrong with Mexican restaurants in Michigan and their nachos? Who in their right mind puts shredded lettuce on nachos and that nasty Queso cheese other than Michigan Mexican restaurants. I've lived pretty much all over the lower 48 and never have I had nachos with shredded lettuce and that nasty queso cheese that makes the bottom chips soggy. Ok enough about that. The service and ambiance were perfect! The place was very clean, colorful and friendly. The waitress was very attentive and checked on us regularly. Now for the nachos, no jalapeño peppers, no guacamole, no shredded cheese on top, no picante/pico de gallo all of these are the staples for authentic Mexican food and not one were on my nachos. Lettuce might go with tacos and Queso might be good with Tostito chips at home but NOT on nachos. To date, pretty much all the MI Mexican restaurants have prepared nachos the same way. I am really beginning to miss the authentic Mexican food that I had in SoCal, and Miami Beach. Try this recipe, refried beans on the plate bottom, some chips, choice of meat (or not), shredded cheese, guacamole and sour cream dollops, jalapeños scattered and some pico de gallo then toss in the oven to melt cheese and serve warm.

Located in the old WB Outback location right off Orchard Lk Rd. Went for lunch recently and got a pleasant surprise. Their menu is fairly large. Prices are very reasonable considering their humongous portions. I ordered a combo dinner with five items in it and it was enough for two with some left over. The tamale was ok (I'm not a big fan). Enchiladas were tasty and flavorful. Taco was average. The chalupa was superb as was the chili relleno. Ground beef was very nice. Shredded chicken was moist and tender. You have a choice of seven sauces. The Colorado sauce is a strained red salsa that looks like tomato sauce but it is wonderful. I put it on everything. Included was rice which was a bit dry. The beans were delicious and coated with cheese. Service was attentive albeit a bit slow. Lunches run around $8-$10 and dinners $15-$20 but as I said portions are HUGE so beware. Recommended. $$

I was disappointed with this location. Food was over salted. Service was friendly but super slow considering the place is empty. Great margaritas, so maybe just drinks. Great theme decor.

First time coming, food was okay not the best I would say. The staff was super friendly and nice though and you can tell they have really good margaritas and deals for that. Overall was not a fan but place was clean.

This is what I get for not checking Yelp guys. But I was thinking who messes up Mexican food. This restaurant that's who. First the good - the service was stellar. Everyone was kind & attentive and the food and drinks came out quickly. I feel bad about this review because they were so nice. But unfortunately I came for food and a margarita not friends Now the reason I'll never return. I paid extra for shrimp that tasted fishy and ground beef that tasted like nothing. The passion fruit margarita had a decent amount of alcohol but the taste was weird. The chips were giving Gordon Foods - tasteless and cold. I've never had disgusting chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. I'm sitting in the parking lot wondering what in the $37 just happened. Next time I'll be sure to catch Camilla's before they close at the ridiculously early for a 'taco Tuesday' time of 8pm. Sorry that's how bad this was - Camilla's caught a stray

Stopped in last night. They explained they were having a soft opening and had been open for about a week. The staff was very friendly. The service was slow, which OSS expected for a new restaurant, especially with difficulty finding employees. The chips were warm, which is always a plus. The pina colada was very good as well, very tasty. We had chili relleno, a beef burrito and a tamale. The food was actually bland with little seasoning. The relleno was not as good as we've had elsewhere. The need in the burrito had no seasoning and the pork in the tamale wasn't seasoned. The price was good, but the food was uneventful and bland. It was simply OK.

On a business trip and was looking to grab a bite at 9PM. At that hour my options were limited but this place (West Bloomfield location) is open until 10 (Tuesday night). It was fairly empty so I went to the bar to watch a game. The bartender (Jordan) was very friendly and I ordered a "Michigan Margarita", which contains cherry juice. It was very good as a change of pace. The chips and salsa were excellent. I was interested in the tacos al carbon and Jordan suggested steak. She was right, as it was very delicious. The rice and beans weren't very hot, but that was minor compared to the service, food and drink. I plan to go back soon.

Screwed-up my To Go order for a group/dinner meeting. When I arrived, they were expecting me, but had lost my telephone order. Nothing was ready. They knew I was coming. They had my phone number, but never called straighten out the mess.Upon arrival, I gave them the order again. It was prepared and bagged in back and not easy to check. I should have checked ... because they forgot the chicken entree for nine.The food is gringo-Mexican. Nothing wrong with it, but if seeking authentic Mexican, consider Ocale or Achile.Will I return? Nope.
