An Ann Arbor / UMich stable. Celebrated a friend's 30th birthday party here and the staff was more than accommodating with reservations, reserved seating (had our own section), and separate checks. A great spot to celebrate.

Dominick's is an Ann Arbor institution for sangria, pitchers of beer and basic cocktails that has been consistent for over 35 years. The food here has always been kind of a joke though. Definitely don't expect to go here for a meal. Nothing on the menu is notable, but that's ok. Everything is basically reheated frozen food. It's all about getting some basic finger foods or snacks to nibble on with your drinks. Just don't think of it as a restaurant. You won't find a better outdoor bar on a nice summer day. You definitely won't find any place in Ann Arbor with better sangria.

Looks like the cool place to be if you're a Michigan student. This spot is right by the Law School and I came here right after school-wide commencement. Sangria was bomb. Highly recommend! Food was pretty good too. I ordered a meatball sandwich and it was 10/10 delicious. Sandwich was small and didn't come with any sides (thought it would with the price!) Felt more like a snack than a meal. Their outdoor seating area is cool and you can wait on their covered patio or in the sun while you wait for food. I think there's some indoor seating, but it seems a bit limited. Overall very satisfied with the experience and will try to hit up when I'm in town again.

Dominick's is a great place to hang out inside or outside. The pizza is tasty and the drinks for freely. Everyone is kind and the vibe is great! We were there for Hash bash, it's a tradition. But I'd really like to go hang out on a slower day! There's two levels and lots of areas to hang out.

Sangria and Constant Buzz: great, 10 out of 10 recommend. Antipasto salad: 9/10, not disappointed. Being rushed while ordering from an overwhelming menu written in chalk across three walls and then waiting to hear your name screamed across an old, crinkly speaker: 1/10. The set up is not my favorite, and the service could be improved. We have been several times because it's considered an Ann Arbor staple, but half the time we come we wonder why. Shaded seats on the back patio are coveted, especially since they keep the far back portion (full shade) closed until there are enough people sitting in the sun. None of it makes sense. Maybe that's why we come back.

Did not even stay to have a seat. The restaurant was dirty and smelled like they haven't taken out the trash in days. Most of the tables had trash and miscellaneous items on them. I was looking for the Dominick's that I loved from my times at U of M. I wanted the smell of the comforting Italian food and received a rancid smell. What a disappointment. This restaurant is not an ethnic Italian restaurant. Stay away.

Best Sangria in Michigan! Maybe ever! A summer staple. The food is very meh tho, everyone comes here for the drinks. Note they are expensive but so worth it!

I highly recommend the Constant Buzz! It's basically a strawberry smoothie. My friend and I got the pitcher to share. We also got chicken quesadillas and the spinach and artichoke dip. The quesadillas were good but I'd pass on the spinach artichoke dip.

Do you fondly recount your fun-filled student days at Dominick's - where you'd go essentially to tip a few after class or, if you worked during school, after work? Thinking of re-living the good old days, but this time to actually have some food while you're at it? I was, and decided to include Dominick's as a stop on a nostalgia tour with my wife. Big mistake. We were greeted at the door by a grumpy old dude (maybe Dominick himself?), who brusquely pointed us to the menus and the walk-up order window. The people behind the counter were friendly enough, but the food wasn't great. The Italian sub was very greasy - the napkin it was on was saturated - and it consisted of two razor-thin slices of meat buried under a three-inch-thick bed of iceberg lettuce. The pesto sandwich wasn't much better, as it was very skimpy on the pesto and had only one, unconscionably thin slice of red pepper; only the slice of mozzarella cheese was ample. And no free pop refills? Really? Further, everything was overpriced, esp. given that there was no table service; you have to walk up both to order and to pick up. And even then, we had to go to the pick-up window twice, as they coundn't even have everything ready at the same time. Sadly, I guess you really can't go home again. I'd one-star this place but for the friendly people behind the counter and the outdoor-dining and people-watching experience.

This place takes me back to college only with good food. The place is clean and organized and the food was tasty. Great atmosphere!! I had to get going so I ordered to go and even out of the box and driving everything was delicious. I also met Dominick who was the owners son and he made the experience even better by telling me the history of this great find. I will be back every time I am in the area.
