This is a mom and pop indian place. Hands down the best indian take out food in the tri county area. The butter chicken is what my husband always gets but i love the lamb biryiani or the chicken korma. The naan is incredible. Good flavors, preparation is always spot on, and if there is ever anything wrong, they bend over backwards to make it right.Ive been coming here for at least 8years -Nothing is microwaved and i have yet to eat a bad dish.

I had Dhaba at St Joe's hospital one day and for a "fast food" style way of serving in the cafeteria it was tasty and even a little spicy! I can't wait to try them at their brick and mortar.

They are inside of a gas station. Small place. No dine-in at all. Big kitchen. We ordered the aloo gobi, butter chicken, dal makhani and Chana masala.I am bummed they don't have any Dosa or bhindi masala at all, two items that make our Indian meal complete. Limited menu due to its size, most likely. $42 total. They have been here for 7 years. Super friendly family that runs it. Food would take about 10-15 minutes to make it for us. The owner gave me a little ramekin of pickled vegetables with her meal. She let me know that there was no wheat in it at all. A couple of the other people waiting here said the food was good. That's why you never know where the good foods are located. Kept an open mind. The food was stacked in the paper bag and in a second plastic bag. Each of the Styrofoam containers were wrapped with foil wrapping too. All of the food was still hot after a 25 minute drive home. The lentils are good. I forgot to ask for all of the dishes to be medium spice. They must've just made it a regular or mild spice instead. The Channa masala is good. I can taste bits of fresh ginger in it and it has good flavoring to it. The Dal Makani is good. It's chock full of little pieces of brown lentil in it. It's quite tasty. The aloo gobi has lots of potatoes in it, it has so much more potatoes than cauliflower, that's a good thing. It's quite good as well. Not super saucy, more of a dry sauce. The butter chicken is super creamy. It's more creamy than it is sweet or spicy. It's not bad, too milky and creamy for my taste though. The service here is good. Food was also good as well.

I have mixed feelings about Dhaba Indian Kitchen and I think the 3 star rating is appropriate here... At a high level, I went into the restaurant expecting great value while in a modest package (especially since everyone called back to the roots of this style of restaurant). I think they deliver on the experience of finding good tasting food in an unexpected location... but I'm afraid that might be extent of it. From a pragmatic perspective, Dhaba Indian Kitchen makes it easy to order and pick up food (online ordering is available, and there's an easy way to pick up once you enter the storefront -- definitely appreciated during the pandemic. The value proposition is what gets me. The taste of the food is solid, but not amazing... From my perspective, there are 3 elements that you can tweak here: taste, appeal, and price. In my experience so far, Dhaba provides decent taste, but too much of the appeal leans on how the restaurant is presented, and the prices are too high for just decent food. I'd expect either amazing food for this kind of price, or a lower price showing this as a value option. As it stands, it's just not a compelling choice among the numerous Indian takeout options in the area.

You wrote a review for Dhaba Indian Kitchen2 minutes ago2/28/2021Dhaba Indian Kitchen is a hidden gem located inside of the BP Gas Station. Our friends told us about this place and we had to try it! We ordered samosas, naan, Kadai lamb, and Baingan Bharta. You can order the food mild, medium, or hot. We selected medium all around and it was pretty spicy! The two entrees came with rice. Overall, it was a lot of food for two but we ate it all because it was so tasty! We look forward to ordering Dhaba again!

Finally got to order from this place after hearing how delicious it was! I ordered the butter chicken with a side of garlic naan. Both were really good!! I ordered with medium spice and it came out perfect and quite flavorful. I'm obsessed with naan so the garlic naan was definitely a winner. I do wish there was more to choose from on the menu for meat dishes and the prices were a tad high but overall everything was great.

Get the Butter Chicken! It's awesome!Everything is very good! Extremely friendly service too. You can grab an adult beverage at the indoor store while you are there. It's a gas station, so don't let that stop you from ordering! You will love it! Very quick to get my order. Can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu!Butter Chicken and get it spicy! I got the middle level, next time I'm gonna have the hot spicy !

Horrible food and service. The owner needs training in customer service. Palak paneer from this place has crushed paneer in gravy - yuck! Naan from this restaurant is really small. Check your order! We were charged for our order but not all items were given. No apology for the miss either! Will never go back.

Overall the food is pretty darn good. The sizes are small for the price, but the taste supercedes that. I think their sizes are more of a lunch portion. The portion leaves you wanting for more if this is your dinner. When they first moved over to Laurel Park Place we kept getting told they would open by a certain date that actually was months later. We found other Indian restaurants to satisfy our palate until they finally opened. They opened with very few items on their menu, and VERY limited hours. They have added a few more items, but nothing compared to their menu when they were in the gas station off of Haggerty Road. We have missed their Malai Kofta, and Chicken Tikka, amongst a few items. A lot of their sauces taste like the same basic sauce with maybe a basic addition of a different spice or two added to the specific dish. We noticed that they stopped filling their carry-containers as full as well.If they are going to make it in this area they need to give you enough to fill your container properly, possibly offer two sizes... a lunch or dinner. I am not talking about the lunch bowls they now have, but the individual white carry out containers. Their hours are only Thurs.-Sun. which really limits when you want to fill your tummy. The owners are nice. The Mrs. Is a very warm and chatty woman, but she is never there anymore. It would help if they did an advertising blitz in Livonia, Farmington Hills, and Northville. The taste of their food is truly top tier. Probably in the top 5 Indian restaurants in the surrounding area. This is a compliment to the highest degree considering the amount of Indian cuisine in the area. There are lots.Bring back the Malai Kofta and the Chicken Tikka.
