I come every year, as it's one of two places that I'm an actually a member of. I enjoy to decor and great wine. They often would have different events, which is a great touch. Beyond that, I enjoy the staff. They always make you feel welcome and remember your name. I was saddened to hear about the untimely passing of Candace; who was the manager and the familiar and cheerful face that I would see every time I would come. Rest in peace Candace!

We LOVED our time at Detroit Vineyards Tasting Room. My mom and I (44 & 72 years old) both had a great time. The dry wines were great but the best part of the experience was Maria and Bob. They were both very knowledgeable but also very personable. They made the night. We went on a Sunday afternoon and the place was very calm. Very comfortable seating with leather couches. If we're back in Detroit, we will definitely go again.

Waitress gave great explanations and walk through of tasting for our group. She made it a really nice experience. Definitely a small business so there's less standardized practices with bookings, etc than some big places. But I'm really glad we went and they were clear with answering our questions. The main room was pretty and lively. They accommodated food allergies for our group as well.

So glad we found this place while visiting Detroit; it was the perfect place to spend the afternoon! I'm always a bit leery of unknown wine from small local places, so I really wasn't expecting much, but the wine quality was decent. $25 for a tasting of 5 wines seemed a little steep, but the pours were generous. They waive the tasting fee if you buy 3 bottles, so we bought 6 bottles and got our tastings free. The Merlot & Chardonnay were our favorites. They do a great job with the oak in these wines -- enough to give the wine structure & complexity, but restrained enough to showcase the fruit. I thought it was neat that they also use some Michigan oak in addition to French oak. The charcuterie board was impressive and the perfect complement to the wine flight. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable. You could tell that he really enjoys his job and has a love for wine. When we were trying to decide between a few bottles to buy that hadn't been in the tasting flight, he let us have a sample so we could make up our minds. This place is very welcoming and not stingy with the wine pours -- exactly the type of place I would visit regularly if I lived nearby. If you're a wine-lover anywhere near Detroit, you definitely need to swing by for a visit!

How amazing is it for Detroit to have this wine tasting room?! It's right around the corner from Eastern Market and has ample parking. Inside is cool- dress warmly (heater out today but sidle up to your signif. other and once you have some wine, you'll feel just fine;), has a cool vibe and lots of unique lighting fixtures. The wine is unique, special, and delicious. We went today- Sauvage, Pinot Noir, and Field of Dreams- all 3 are winners! (plus other Medal Winning Wines) Yeah! Support local!! Chris the winemaker is doing it all - they are super short staffed, be patient and enjoy the wine. DV is a treasure. Try it out! And if you love it- join the Wine Club! :)

Really liked the dry wines and some of the meads. Plenty of parking. Nice deal on wine club with tastings! (At no cost than getting a shipment twice a year.)Really recommend this gem! I had a tasting and was surprised how many I enjoyed (purchased) and joined the club.

UPDATE: the owner responded to my review in a rather snarky way and quite frankly made me 100% certain i am never coming back to this establishment. this is not a proper way to conduct business and build customer relationships. i hope Chris can learn from this interaction but in reading his previous replies i have severe doubts in his ability to do so.we came here for my friends birthday and even though we had a reservation, it was as if they were surprised by our presence. the server we had was not very knowledgeable about the wines or basic server etiquette. she constantly reached across us without warning, spilled wine on the table and hit our glasses with the wine bottle as she poured wine. the wine itself was not great either. the chips were great, although they are not made in house. the decor and ambiance was nice - very industrial vibes. i don't think any of my group would be back soon.

We had an absolutely amazing time visiting! Candace was a wonderful host and so knowledgeable! We loved chatting with her and even took her up on multiple other recommendations - including stopping at Silver beach pizza on our way back home! Loved the wine and the food tasting! so happy we brought some back home with us! Can't wait for our next visit and to bring home more wine!! One of the highlights of our weekend getaway!!

ABSOLUTE TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I'm sure if anyone took the time to read through the reviews especially the 1-star reviews, it would paint a vivid picture of how RUDE, and CONDESCENDING the owner and manager of this place is. Based off the other reviews I'm sure Chris will write back defending his staff's complete lack of decorum and respect for paying customers. My interaction with your manager James was something I've never experienced in my life, having someone speak to me without an ounce of human decency for asking simple questions regarding reservations. Your business wont last in the city much longer if you continue to disrespect the people trying to support you.Update: Chris/James learn to take accountability for your actions. You never acknowledge your rude attitude and the way you speak to people in any of your responses. Don't forget to include how you cut me off multiple times asking "are you done" in the middle of my sentence, calling me "belligerent" for being confused why you cancelled my reservation based on a conversation you had with someone other than me. However, thank you for your cancelling my reservation, I'm happy my birthday was not ruined by being in your establishment.
