Detroit Taco Company

I first discovered the deliciousness of Detroit Taco at Greektown Casino in Detroit. I love to play the slots at the Detroit casino's and will often have comps for free food. Greektown recently added Detroit Taco so I gave it a try and boy am I glad I did. Not only does the food taste delicious but you can taste how fresh the ingredients are. A friend that resides in Shelby Township knew I loved Detroit Taco so he let me know that there is one near where I live which is in Sterling Hts by Lakeside Mall. A trip down Hall Rd onto S Van Dyke Frwy, 1st exit go E on 23 mile, immediate right onto Corporate Drive and Walla you have found the best taco's in all of Michigan! They are really into being healthy by making everything fresh and not adding lard to the beans. The pop machine offers 4 pops that use cane sugar. You have to ask for salt and pepper. The place is spotless and the personnel are pleasant and efficient. There is plenty of parking outside. I love all the cool artwork inside the building. The steak in my taco was cooked perfectly, there was a lot of meat in the taco and it was seasoned perfectly making this taco delicious with every bite. Mom elected to have a crispy chicken taco and she ate every bite of her two taco's. The chicken was shredded, she said it taste better that way. We arrived on a Tuesday evening and were pleasantly surprised that it was Taco Tuesday, where if you buy a taco the 2nd one is free. We will be back.

Omg the tacos are so good!!! They have a burrito I forgot the name but it was amazing. The guy at the counter was so funny I told him I wanted gringo tacos and he made them for me. It's a cute space you can dine in or get it to go. I love coming here

Food was delicious!!!! Queso was sooooo good. Decent pricing. Very small place, but nice to sit at.

The Greektown location is fire! The one in Shelby was not good at all... got the steak street tacos and they were not good at all. The guy was so friendly and so nice but the food just didn't taste as good as the other location in greektown.

I've been to Detroit Taco Company but at a different location. I was on this side of town doing stuff and was starving. This popped up on my yelp page as nearby, so of course I had to go grab some tacos.The place here is really well decorated with murals and such. I love it. They have the menu on a cool TV screen on the wall but it was sort of confusing. Different prices for different tacos. They did have a small selection of combos, but this place is mostly ala carte.I ended up getting to Detroit Tacos and a fountain drink. Side note-their fountain pops the Detroit Pop company, and it was GOOD! I love it, considering I'm pretty cut and dry with what I like. So, good for them. Anyway, the tacos were $5.99 each, and a pop. Grand total? $15 and change. OUCH. No, I'm not cheap but dang, that's expensive.I will say, when the food came out the tacos were massive and really cool looking. Tons of meat, toppings and it tasted delicious. I would've taken a photo but I was so hungry I had to just eat at that point. Even though their pricey to me, the food portions, taste and presentation are on pointe.Another cool thing I noticed was the utensil dispenser. I've never seen anything like it but their pre loaded into this machine and you just pull one out. Pretty cool and sanitary. Mostly cool to me though. I don't know who invents these things, but high 5 to them.Place was clean and of course, the staff was great here. The lady at the register really knew her stuff which is important to me. Whoever runs this place really does a good job. I really mean that.I will be back in the future and it seems to attract a decent lunch crowd during the week. Plenty of parking and interior seating as well.

I generally do not like Mexican food (I know, Im weird) but... I've been to DTC 2 times and both times were EXCELLENT. The food and service were outstanding. I love the artwork in the dinning area and the price is right.

Food is amazing and by far the best non-fast food/fast food I have ever had to be honest! The service is by far one of the main reasons I have gone back multiple times. Simplistic but attractive ambiance. Even the prices are fair for what you get. Some may think it is expensive but I'm full all day after lunch.

This is disgusting and I can't even eat it, the shell is completely ripped and it's not even a taco it's chicken

Food and service were fantastic. They hooked us up with a TON of chips, salsa and queso with our meal. The smashwrap was delicious. We will be back!
