My love and I went here for date night. I love the design made up of reconstructed shipping containers. I think that is so cool! The diverse food options provided by the food truck style eateries there was great. We opted to have dumplings from Momo Cha and a Lamb & Chicken Mixed Rice platter from Halal Street. The service was friendly and fast. I also found it pretty cool that one of the staff at Bangkok 96 Street Food was featured in Gran Torino and had a picture of herself with Clint Eastwood on display in their space. The cafeteria style seating was fun and allows for interaction with other guests.

I get it, it's a good place to hang out, have social events. But the food is very subpar. Small portions. Expensive. And honestly not as many options as I would've hoped for a place like this. Not a great place for a date due to how loud it can getCocktails were pretty decent though

This is a super cool concept, but in my opinion they fall short with the food. I've tried two places, and was disappointed with both of them. Spent quite a lot of money for a very average food.

The food was ok, but would recommend going during the warm weather months. I'm not a fan of going to multiple spots to get food, but the various options makes it easier for you to find something good.

Wow! I can't wait to go back. I ate at Bangkok 96 and it was absolutely delicious. I was a little nervous about the certainty of Gluten Free but I had ZERO issues after. The aioli sauce was so flavorful and the shrimp was nice and crispy. Cashier was knowledgeable about gluten free cooking process. Food came out fast. Very cool atmosphere. Be quick to get a seat though!

Love the vibes of this place! I went with my family and we tried a few different places. Bangkok 96 was good, and the quantity was honestly a lot more than I was expecting, so that was a major plus. We tried halal street and the amount of food we got in our falafel platter was amazing, not to mention the taste! Lastly we got chicken burgers from Motor Burgers and it was delicious. There wasn't much wait time, not longer than usual. I was surprised because we went on a Saturday evening. My only complaint was the seating - I wish it was a little more private than the long cafeteria type tables. Overall it was a great time, and I love having multiple food options for when you can't decide on just one thing. Would definitely come back!

I have been trying to make it to this place for a while and I was so glad I finally made it. It's a food hall made out of shopping containers. There are 4 places to choose from along with a coffee/ creamery and a full bar. There is indoor and outdoor seating, and a patio. There are also three stores on the inside. And an area for free comedy shows. The first time I came I went to Bangkok 96 and ordered Bao Buns. Once you order you get a pager like you would at a restaurant. This was my first time trying Bao Buns and they were sooo good now I'm on a hunt for them and it was only two but they were very fulfilling. The second time I went to Momo Cha Nepalese dumplings and got the 4 piece chicken dumpling pan seared with like a tomato sauce. You can choose if you want the dumplings fried, pan seared, or steamed. I also ordered a Mango Lassi. I love dumplings so there was no doubt to me that these weren't going to be good. The mango Lassi was a great creamy sweet finish to top it off.

Visited on a Wednesday night and it was packed!! I'm not sure they were prepared for the amount of people because the line for the bar wrapped around the room and it took 45 minutes for me to get my order from Bangkok 96. Regardless of that, my group had a great time! The space is amazing, with the inside cafeteria-type tables, large stage, and huge area in the back. The back has a few picnic table-type areas, cornhole boards, a gas fire pit with plastic Adirondack chairs, and a huge tent with tables. We really enjoyed sitting out there in the cool Spring evening. Everything we ate and drank was wonderful. What a great space for Detroit!

Great place for a happy hour. Detroit Shipping Company is a multi leveled indoor/outdoor food court with a variety of good eats located throughout. You can get anything from a lamb burger to pad Thai and it'll probably be good. They also have some pretty unique drinks with friendly happy hour prices. You'd be surprised by how big the space is. Plenty of room for social distancing or if your like me... space to enjoy your beverages in peace. Outside balcony has a good vantage point of the city. We were in town for the 2024 NFL Draft so the staff gave great recommendations on other good spots around the city. They also gave us the round down on all the events happening at the Shipping Company over the weekend. Sounds like a place you for sure want to visit.
