My husband and I have been on a mission to figure out where the sausage comes from at our favorite breakfast spot for the past year now. Finally I got some one on one time with the owner of the breakfast spot and I asked, "Where do you get your sausage links from? They're delicious!""Thank you! Detroit Sausage Company."I did some research, called the distributing center and they are open to the public from 6:30am-12:30pm M-F.Luckily my husband had a day off and stopped in to pick us up a case of the 2oz breakfast links for $25. A BOX of sausage for $25 when you're paying $4 for 12 at your grocer, AND it's locally made?! What a DEAL!The case comes frozen, so I just pull out and defrost what I need the night before.Honestly if you try these, you'll never go back to what is sold at your favorite grocery store. They will be the star of your next breakfast spread. They also have other varieties of sausage i.e. Italian sausage, English bangers, chorizo, etc.http://www.detroitsausage.com/index.php/joomla-overview

We got breakfast sausage links from a meat market in Redford one day. We loved them so much we made trips there thinking it was the meat market's own blend for the sausage. When we asked the man at the counter, they said they get the links from Detroit Sausage Company. We get the bigger 2oz links which is plumper than the standard links you get at a coney which makes them so flavorful and juicy. Once you try them, you really can't go back to other brands knowing that these are available. We haven't gotten to try any of their products yet, but if we ever get the chance to, we definitely will. We still need to find out if they distribute to any markets closer to us as their hours are rather limited to the public. We stopped by the place a bit too late to get anything, but they mentioned they sell their products at one of the meat counters at Gratiot Central over by Eastern Market, so if you're over there you can give them a try.

You have got to visit this place. The 2 oz breakfast sausage is the best I have ever had. Buy it in the 10lbs package. Don't forget the bacon. By far better than anything you will find in the stores.
