I had a great time seeing Ian Fidance while he was on tour. Stage and seating have an intimate feeling. Only suggestions for improvement: the HVAC system or a fan in the ceiling makes a ticking sound. Really noticable when the comedian is silent. The drinks could have been better. Ordered two gin gimlets Could barely finish one and placed the second one on the bar. Suspect person poured sour mix in my drink instead of lime. Waste of money, but I was happy to see Ian.

Super intimate venue I had never visited before. It's located right in the middle of everything near the Fox, Little Caesars, Ford Field. It's inside Hockeytown really. I hadn't researched parking options and there was a wings game, concerts, theater events... drove around and came back to the Comerica garage right next to it. Expensive at $30 though. Convenient for sure. Bought tickets through Ticketmaster to see one of my favorite comedians. Easy entry with ticket scans and an employee sat us at a table for two. We were late-ish and sat to the side (which was still excellent for viewing). You can order from the QR code menu. Decent selection of drinks, beers, and wine. A server brings it out. Temperature, lighting, personal space, view... all great. I really loved this venue!

We went to see comedian Josh Johnson when he came to town. Tickets were General Admission so seating was first come first serve. We came a good half hour before showtime. It was rather awkward waiting for the doors to open, because the line snaked around the the bar and the dining area. So we felt we were intruding on the restaurant patrons. Once we got inside the theater, we sat very close to the stage and enjoyed the show. The place is a smaller venue, which can accommodate 300 people, so I don't think there's a bad seat in the house. It feels like a more intimate experience than most places. We ate prior to coming to the show so I can't review the food. However, many people within the theater were ordering food and drinks. The wait staff were really hustling to take and deliver orders. Everyone seemed happy with the service. All in all, we had enjoyable evening at the House of Comedy, and I'm sure we'll be back.

Cramped seating. The bar at their entrance was not open, so to get drinks you either had to be seated and order them on your phone, or go to the Hockey town cafe bar across from the entrance. Tall beers were $12!The restrooms are shared with hockey town and are disgusting. As much as that place makes, their restrooms shouldn't smell like sewage, be run down, or have garbage all over the floor because their garbage cans are broken.

In my opinion, this place is very small and unorganized. It's like the Spirit Airlines of venues. At the very end of the hockey town entrance, there was a small roped off area for folks to stand in line. You can't see it until you come into the area. There wasn't anyone at the door to let guests know this either, so when other people came in after us they wandered around before the guy standing behind the counter told them where to go. (Back through the doors because the door width of space at the last row of entry doors was the only area roped off for entering.) it would probably be a great idea to have a security guy, or anyone working there, standing at the entrance to hockey town to direct people where to go. My husband and I arrived early and were placed with two other people we'd never met before, who were the only two people in line before us. Once they were ready to start seating people, someone finally came out and moved the rope and walked away. They didn't say to follow them or anything, no greeting or "follow me", it was just unhook rope, walk away. I'm not sure why, but there also wasn't any seating arrangement I was aware of. They asked us how many were in our party and after being paired with the two before us we were directed to sit halfway around a tiny table barely 2' wide in the second to last row in the center of the room. Why so far if we were the first ones in? It was our first time, so I don't know how that works. There are also QR codes on the tables to place an order for food and drinks, but again due to the tightness of the quarters, especially after the room filled with other people crammed next to their tables and chairs, there is very limited space to put food on the table, especially if everyone has a drink. The show itself was fine, my husband even liked the comedian we saw more than the Kevin Hart show we saw in Windsor the month prior. I just don't know if we'd go back knowing the size of the area and being so close to other people - especially post Covid and being immunocompromised.

Came here on Saturday for Martin Amini show with two friends. There was no line and we went right in. We were first asked if we planned on drinking alcohol and we would get wristbands. We walked into the room and our tickets were scanned. We were seated in the middle section at the end which was perfect. I love how the seats increase in heights as the seats move from the floor level to the highest level. There was a QR code at the table to order and pay for the drinks and/or food virtually. One thing I noticed is that I tipped and there was additional tip already added to the bill that didn't show a preview before I paid the drink purchase. I would definitely come here again. You just have to pay for parking. We paid for $15 lot parking about 1/2 a mile down the street because the rates were high. When I looked at parkwhiz for parking related through the Detroit House of Comedy website, all the close parking was full. But when we showed up they were empty. So those lots were $20-30 for 2 blocks of parking or the garage next to the building.

This business is run by deplorable lowlifes. They have no problem booking antisemitic, anti women acts. The morally bankrupt owners don't deserve to be in business with their condoning hateful bigot Amanda Seales. Shame on you.

1. Seating sucksThe seating was set up for a grad school classroom so we were crammed into tiny tables on tiny chairs. I was told it was sold out. However, the place was about 3/4 full by the time the headliner got up. The comedians had some fun making fun of how there was tons of comedy in town (At much nicer places). It was dumb. I left early. 2. The staff was rude and awful I'm going to call on Monday to complain specifically about this particular jerk. If your entire job is checking ID's and giving out wristbands, maybe don't be aggressively rude to strangers for no reason? It was like being a family Thanksgiving in which your MSNBC obsessed uncle gets wine drunk and starts picking fights for no reason and all the sober adults have to be the grownup and suck it up and walk away. Not fun at thanksgiving. Not fun from an emotionally unstable, mentally stunted, bigot whose job will and should be replaced by an app or a laptop.I go to comedy shoes all the time. Not going back here. Tickets were expensive. Staff was aggressively rude and awful. The seats themselves were terrible and uncomfortable. Literally, no good seats in the house. This place sucks and will probably go out of business. If the Fox is next door with better acts and comfortable regular seats, no one is picking this dump.

I went in optimistic and was at the front desk asking for a refund in less than 5 mins. We walked in at 706pm, back at front desk by 710pm, out the front door by 722pm, in the car parked 4 blocks away by 735pm- I can't make this shit up. Mind you! I waited for 10 mins for the manager to come speak with us , only to be greeted with rudeness and dismissiveness. In fact he Moreso spoke with his staff and told me he couldn't refund my money I had to submit an email to request my money be refunded! It's 3 days later and no one has reached out to remedy my poor experience or seek to resolve the issue either or refunded my money. there's no direct number to contact anyone in higher management. So my cousin's out of town visiting Detroit experience at the Detroit House of Comedy was no food, no comedy, no refund, poor customer service, and theft by taking. sad thing is I actually like how the seating is arranged, and the rest of the staff were very helpful, polite and professional. But the lack of food variety options at dinner time was not in our plan. I came out for a night of food, drink, and laughs with my family visiting from out of town, and what we experienced was rude and poor customer service by the leading staff- the manager. My night went left when I saw the minimum food options. I figured since the club was in a restaurant the menu would be pretty favorable. When I saw the 4 food items offered I felt like the joke was on me. It was not the experience I expected to have with my cousin her last night in town. And I definitely expected to recieve my money back since I actually spent less than 5 mins inside this club in a seat. Like we literally sat down and got the Fuck back up and left and waited at the front for the manager expecting assistance. and based on this experience alone I will never return to this establishment. I felt disrespected, undervalued as a consumer (bc the manager never asked us what was the problem he spoke to his staff and then gave his verdict with short rude responses and walked off unapologetically) . As a customer don't go, as a comedian be mindful of how they treat their customers. Suggestion for success, treat all customers with level of genuine concern and expand the food menu.
