stopped in on really cold michigan day and grabbed lunch with some coworkers... small little joint. nice little spot tho. not at all fancy so dress however however u wantordered the DETROIT BURGER !! VERY VERY YUMMMMMMY

I work downtown Royal Oak so when it is time to have lunch I order something and pick it up. This place has easy online ordering. I usually get the chicken tikka masala. There are 2 Indian restaurants in walking distance that also have tikka masala but let me tell you why I get it here. First the portion is bigger, I guess I should eat less but an extra cup of rice and half a cup of sauce isn't going to break the bank for a restaurant . The chicken in the masala I think is shredded stewed chicken thighs that are so tender. The two Indian restaurants in town have big cubes of breast meat that have been cooked so long they are hard and chewy. They also take up so much space there is not enough sauce. Plus Detroit eatery is a few dollars less. I haven't even gone into the menu which has a lot of other good things. The generals chicken is good, and the lamb pita is also good.

Every time I try a new food item here it's so good. Fav place for Indian food. The service has gotten better and better with time. Their new interior restaurant is very casual Ambiance. Small space but great food.

Without a doubt, this spot left me genuinely astounded. It's not a cakewalk to stumble upon bona fide NYC gyro in the wild, but holy smokes, this place is the real stuff. Dewan, our server, wasn't just good, he was exceptional. He seemed to have a sixth sense for what we needed to order, navigating the menu with the ease of a seasoned captain.Despite a healthy queue forming behind me, he didn't rush things along. Instead, he made a point of explaining his recommendations, taking the time to ensure we were making informed choices. It was a level of service that resonated with me.I've made a mental note to make a note for this place next time I find myself in the Detroit area. I urge you to make a pitstop here - particularly if you're making the rounds at the local bars.

Them wings hit! The wet jerk wings were appropriately surprising coming from Royal Oak. The wings are whole and well cooked and seasoned. The spice of the jerk was akin to homemade. I enjoyed the chocolate cake too. This place was a pleasant surprise.

We were early for a concert at Royal Oak Music Theater and hungry. We wandered around a bit and stumbled upon Detroit Eatery, which has a walk up window and a decent menu. We both ordered the chicken pita, which was the delicious hand held we both needed. Service was fairly quick for a freshly made pita, and we walked away happy, ready for our concert.

OMG! I was in town, looking for something different. We found this spot and slid through. My hubby's a vegetarian and Im a carnivore. We waited a good amount of time for the food, but man....IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! We ate inside and enjoyed the atmosphere. Hubby couldn't stop eating. I highly recommend it.

I found a larger piece of a plastic cup rim at the bottom of my rice carry-out container. this is the second time I've found a foreign object in my delivery order.The food was fresh, hot & good so the 1st time (a hard wood-like material), it was mistake but a 2nd time (a big piece of a cup) seems neglectful...it's my last time ordering from Detroit Eatery.i would have asked for a refund but the plastic was discovered well past the reportable timeframe.
