Demi's Restaurant & Bar

My first impression was of the fenced in, "secured" parking lot where a security guy waved us to the back. When I asked why, in the rain, I couldn't park closer to the door, he indicated that it would be safer for me to pull out, since I was driving a large vehicle. He clearly assumed I couldn't drive my SUV. It would be safer for me as a female to not have to walk from the back of a lot where, judging by the wall and fence, has security issues. What made it worse, when I left, he wasn't even in the lot to make sure my lengthy walk to my big SUV was safe.But let's get inside. Went for Sunday brunch around 2pm. We were greeted by a friendly and cool waitress and to the sounds of Teddy Pendergrass, so all was forgiven. The buffet items could have been fresher, but I did arrive the last hour of brunch. For $21.99 you get a mimosa, one made to order omelette in addition to the buffet items. Everything was fried - chicken wings, perch, pork chops. I had all 3, wings and fish were ok, pork chops were dry. Sweet, soft waffles and good grits. Mac n cheese was a little dry, but good mixed into the grits. Again, maybe better if you go at beginning of brunch. Fruit plate was a nice one, featuring wonderful honeydew. Not enough veggies on the buffet.The staff was friendly and it seems like a fun place to come for their karaoke or comedy night. Since it was a buffet, I did not get to witness the slow service others have warned about. I can see that though. We had to find the waitress to pay the bill. It was nice to not be rushed and I'd rather friendly and slow than rude and rushing me out.I would come back to try the lamb chops and comedy. Just don't expect to get in and out.

I went to the brunch last Sunday, after I few of my friends told me about this restaurant/bar. I heard so much about how good the food was, so I was eager to check it out!Upon walking into the restaurant, I really liked the ambiance, and the music playing from the DJ during the brunch hours. It was a nice and laid back vibe! Service was nice, and there were a nice amount of food options to choice from the buffet, from what I remember: Grits, fresh fruit, potatoes, bacon, sausage, waffles, veggies, macaroni and cheese, pork chops, pasta salad, fried chicken wings, fried catfish, omelette station-and more food items I'm sure I missed! All of the food was good! I had no complaints, and the mimosas were good. I would definitely check this restaurant out again, next time for dinner options!

Great Sunday brunch spot! Located on the southwest corner of 7 Mile & Telegraph with a gated parking lot and nice looking patio (it was cold when I went). Nicely decorated interior with high top tables on one side and a well stocked bar on the other. There is also a balcony like second floor with regular table seating. We visited on Sunday right at the 10am opening time. They were serving brunch so the normal menu wasn't available. Brunch was served buffet style in elegant silver chafing dishes lining the bar. Also, there was aside dessert display and an omelet station with omelettes made to order. When I walked along the bar and peeked into each dish one by one, I was pleasantly surprised. The buffet included grits, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, fried chicken waffles, fried catfish, salad, pasta salad, bow tie pasta marina with cheese, and green beans! Everything I tasted was fresh, hot and delicious. Drinks were extra. I ordered a mimosa and it was one of the best I've ever had. The service was impeccable. Our server was pleasant and attentive and open to any special requests we had. She even took our omelette order up to the station and delivered piping hot made to order omelettes back to our table. Once it started to fill up they should've added some help for her because she was working the whole place and it seemed like a quite a big job. It gets better...there was live jazz! And we learned that there is live music or a DJ every day l, except Monday when there is karaoke. We've definitely found a new favorite in Demi's!

I really wanted to like this place. I had heard great things about the food. I ordered the lamb chops and paid $27 for the plate and was given 3 lamb chops. The lamb chops were very well seasoned but there is no way 3 of them are worth $27. This is the slowest, worst possible service that I ever received. It's not even just me, everyone around me is also complaining about the service. You have to practically beg for it... the parking lot is small and tight. So to sum it up... the food is good but you don't get what you paid for. And the service couldn't possibly be any worse. I doubt I will be back.

this place was recommended by a friend of mine and it did not leave me wanting more. the drinks were great the service was excellent and the food left nothing to be desired, i had the chicken alfredo and i had enough for my son and lunch the next day. my friend had the burger and it was huge juicy and awesome. this is a place you want to go, great for your pocket and tummy!!

My wife and I went to Demi's tonite for dinner. Since March we've dined there on three occasions. Each time was good but got better each time. The food is actually very well prepared, cooked and served. Tonite we had the sweetest waitress. Lauren was very personable, polite and professional. We had the following: fried catfish, sautéed collard greens, Sweet potato fries, whole chicken wings, loaded white potato. All of it was seriously superb. I'm so pleased to see a Black owned restaurant of this quality right there in my neighborhood. Telegraph and 7mi. This is a nice warm place and it feels secure. I highly recommend you visit just to check it out.

Visited Demi's a second time on 12/22Brunch food this time wasn't so good.The Grits were not moist, sausage linkswere too charred, sausage pattys wereflat and dried out and so was the catfish.Wings were OK, as were biscuits /gravyThe Omelet that's included with buffetwas good! and the hostess Sierra makesgreat bloody marys with a few garnishmentsbut not good mimosas, they lacked correctbalance needed.The mimosa formula is 2 fingers of juice and rest is champagne.Thewaitress Raven was energetic & attentive.I'm grateful Demi's exist, but won't be goingback there even for first love- alfresco dining

Nice venue, especially for the location. The drinks are good and reasonably priced. They do however advertise daily happy hour, which they do not honor everyday ( Sunday's no happy hour even though that's never stated next to any of the happy hours ads) As far as the food is considered, it needs some work. For some reason all the food taste bland and as though they don't use salt. The food is also too pricey in my opinion. The quality of food does not reflect the menu pricing , consider using Groupon or some other form of savings when considering dining here. I hope they can fix there food problem so I can write a better review in the future. I know I gave it 2 Stars only because yelp does not offer a 2.5 start rating option.

The people are pleasant and the food was okay. I am probably not planning on returning anytime soon.The group I was with arrived around 6:30 and it was almost 2 hours after placing our order that food arrived. Once the food was served I felt for the most part we gave it C+ with a couple meals that went uneaten. I wouldn't discourage you from giving it a try but my suggestion is probably go during the week.

My server (Cici) was really good and overall, the staff was really good. I had the fried chicken wings, which were the star of the show. I had lamb chops (which were really small and not as tender). Additionally, I like mines medium cooked. I was not asked how I'd like them and was given well done lamb chops. The flavor was definitely there, but could've been better overall. Although the mashed potatoes were real potatoes, they were bland, so I added the demi sauce (kind of like zip sauce) and it taste better. The "sautéed" greens tasted like they came out of the can (like Glory Greens or something). I will go back, but it won't be for the the lamb chops. If I have doctor to up the food (which I did), it might be awhile before I come back unless it's for the fried chicken. Lol! I will be back to try some other items on the menu in the future though. This was my first time coming here.
