Crab Hut Seafood

This place is an absolute take out only dive and thats okay because its ab-fab darlings, absolutely fabulous. Immigrant run kitchen specializing in Cajun inspired seafood boils and Chinese food. The lobby has next to no decor save one fishing net with a plastic crab mounted to the wall, expect boxes of inventory stacked up everywhere. No tables, no benches, just a mild line to a surly Chinese lady who will absolutely scream at the kitchen for your order and get it for you pronto. This all might seem counterintuitive to say, a good date experience, but the food is absolutely fire. Ive only tried the pepper steak on the chinese side of the menu once, and it was good. Not a life changing experience, or even a memorable one, but I didnt have regrets. Because we dont go for the chinese, which honestly feels like an afterthought. We go for the seafood boils! And they have so many options available and they are highly customizable on the cheap (want every flavor and extra everything? I do!) five bucks. Our household favorites are the shrimp boils with sausage, egg, corn and potatoes with all the flavors. Lemon pepper? Yes. I dont jest, Gimme that zest. Cajun? Make it spicy for me china dommy mommy. Garlic butter? I wanna savor those bulbs. Mix em all together for an absolute powerhouse of flavor, brought to you in a tied off steam filled bag with gloves provided for a great meal that will last any sane person days to eat through. Our usual go to's are the steamed shrimp or king crab legs. We usually do the option to add two of all the supplementals, so we end up with 18 shrimp and sausage, or a pound of king crab legs and sausage, long with two eggs, three corn, three potatoes. We can get out for less then 50 bucks for at least two three bery flavorful meals each. When its a special occasion well splurge on the love dinner for 2 which has a bevy of everything including crab and lobster. bery nice. On that one we will eat off and one for a week!

HEY YALL! This spot is kinda inconspicuous to see at night, we found it, the service was fast, I don't mind waiting for hot food! The lady taking orders was pleasant, had a lot of customers but we ended up talking and she was very friendly, suggested to try the Boils next time! We ordered shrimp and double fries. It was filling. I will go back to try some other things on the menu. The place is small so it's better for pickup! ENJOY!

Just had a side order seafood bag and it was very tasty. My food was made fresh, hot and fast!!!!!

I've been coming here for a while now and the lady has become an auntie!! Lol! she's so snazzy and quick with ordering! I love how she repeats your order and even goes over the receipt when you get your food. It tastes amazing and fresh, almost every time. Sometimes they are sketchy with the seasoning blends, but overall, I recommend this place to try for your seafood boil experience!

Don't let the appearance of this family owned take out place scare you off. The food was incredible! We got the mega combo and shared the garlic butter crab, shrimp, sausage, potato, corn, and egg, and were greatly satisfied! Everything was cooked well and the flavor was spot on! They even sent me home with vinyl gloves to dig in! But we just went in hands first (I did have to stop half way to wash my hands - but that's a me thing!) if you've debated coming here, stop debating!!!

Crab Hut is the bomb, yo! I usually like to try multiple items before reviewing a restaurant /take out place but damn, if I can't just get past the crawfish here. Mudbugs are tough to find in these parts - I think Detroit Pho on Dequindre might be the only other place in Macomb County - and these little bastards are scrumpdilly as Bubbles from Trailer Park Boys would say. I've been to Crab Hut a few times now and they're always fast, fresh and friendly. Them crawdaddies are just *chef's kiss. I'm addicted to those ghastly, HR Giger looking things. And somehow I've never had a crawfish boil with egg in it til I made my way through these doors. It's a worthy addition to the dish, though if you want the customary sausage you'll have to ask them to add it. There's three different spices to choose from or you can mix em all if you really want to go Hog wild. Cajun is my favorite, naturally, gotta go Nawlins style with the mudbugs! Crab Hut sells the crawfish by the pound but they're cool with it if you wanna split hairs and order a pound and half like I sometimes do. The pound serving tends to leave me hungry and two pounds just seems like so much so it's a good compromise. Three cheers for Crab Hut. They're open Christmas and New Years, too. Maybe one day I'll try something besides crawfish boil but I'm thinking they'll have to be out of stock and they haven't been yet.

I bought the seafood bag which was very flavorful. I really enjoyed it with my family. I ordered online so I had very little contact with the employees and it was a takeout and the ambiance wasn't a factor.

I went back to visit Crab Hut to order a catfish dinner again. It wasn't the same , the catfish was fried very hard , it had a different taste than the first time I had it . The catfish tasted like a big mince fish stick. It had a different texture, it was not the same fish I had the first time, I did not eat but 1/4 of one piece. I was very disappointed with my food.

Used to like this place. Ordered a seafood bag only to discover a long piece of nasty hair. I threw it away in disgust. I was the last customer that evening so I called the first thing in the morning to tell them of my experience, assuming they would do the right thing and replace or refund. I showed them the time stamped picture and they argued with me until they finally agreed to offer me half off of a new order. Needless to say I will not be back. Hey Crab Hut, do the right thing to your customer. If one customer reads this review and decides not to go, I'll be happy.
