Between the vivacious (2nd and 4th) Friday night performances by Nina Simone and her band, and thefinger poppin' Sunday brunch, you have everything you need in a neighborhood bar/restaurant. The service is friendly, but when they are busy, there's a wait. Expect it and deal. Bartenders actually know how to mix. Shout to Apple and Monee. The brunch is DJ'd and is a club atmosphere. For $30, you get 3 whole wings, waffle, 1 large shrimp in a small bowl of cheesy grits, hash browns, a choice of 2 breakfast meats, and a made-to-order omelette. This price also includes a 20% gratuity. The bacon is substantial, omelettes are perfectly prepared and generously stuffed, fried wings are crispy and beautifully seasoned....... All good! I had enough leftover for an entire 2nd meal. Mimosas are $4. Cornerstone is simply a great time without the pretentiousness of a lot of other spots. You can show up in a 3 piece suit or a track suit. As someone else described it, it's "grown and sexy." The crowd is cool and the music is always good. I'll take photos on my next visit. It's always literally a "live in the moment" time when I'm there and I forget to take pictures.

If you're looking for a nice bar and entertainment this is a great spot. Food took way too long to come out.

I really want to love this place. Safe location. Cover charge $10 cash or $12 w credit. Came alone. Parking on street. Parked across and ran over Mack Ave in the rain. For my first visit, did not feel cheerful vibes from door guy anywho sat at the bar. Bartenders were not welcoming on this day. I guess I was looking forward to a warm response, a smile? ‍ Waited 10 mins for the menu or acknowledgement from either of the 2 bartenders that walked pass a few times to be noticeable. I get that it's a busy Friday night but say be right with you or even Hi. May need more ppl on the floor. Meanwhile, Friday night live band - Nina Simone (and 2 degrees ) were a bunch of fun and hyped up the lounge. Wasn't very hungry but came on a recommendation to check it out. Decided for wings no sides. Wings were cooked to perfection. Temperature of the food was great. Had 2 gin and tonics. 2nd was not great. Tonic seemed off which happens but bartender remade drink to my liking. Great option for Late happy hour to 10:30p - 11:30p. $3 off cocktails, $2 off select wine selection. Ordered another drink never received it. Got a little busy. Bartender apologized. Decent experience due to entertainment and food. Not blown away by service but Willing to give it another try.

We selected this location for my mom's birthday celebration. This was also my first opportunity to patronize this business. I can say it will not be the last. We were greeted upon entry (by who I latercame to know to be one of the owners) and welcomed to the establishment. The atmosphere is lively. The DJ (DJ Snake) played a variety of music that catered to the crowd. There are flat screens throughout that featured various sporting events. Offering traditional bar food burgers, chicken and shrimp - every thing ordered was delicious. I personally had theCornerstone Chicken Wings flavored with Hot Honey sauce so GOOD!!!

We came in at 5:50pm and sat quickly. When I returned from the restroom, we had the menus but there was no mention of happy hour specials but there was a sign outside. When the bartender decided to return to get our orders after being on his phone, I asked about happy hour specials. It was 6:01 and he stated that the happy hour special ended one minute ago and he would not be able to accommodate us although we entered before 6:00 pm. The sign remained outside and the restaurant was dead. We just ordered food and water and left. Had he made an effort to accommodate us (for his tardiness) the restaurant would have definitely made several alcohol sales as we were looking to drink. I will not be returning to this restaurant due to the treatment that we received. Sucks because I like the food here but oh well....

let me start by saying I never make comments but my experience this past Saturday by management gave pause to the treatment and customer service that myself and friends received. first let me say that the entire venue had reserved on all tables except 1-table which is where we seated as we didn't have a reservation. There are no waitstaff so all drink and food orders had to made by going to bar. While at the bar placing my order I noticed that people seated were leaving so with much excitement I flaggged my party to come to bar as there were enough open seats, to our disappointment and confusion we were told that we could not sit at the bar and that we had to return back where we we sitting as the bar was for patrons that didnt had a reservation which I stated we didn't have a reservation and we shared with the manager we didn't have a reservation so why can't we sit at the bar mind you they didn't have wait staff all orders had to be placed at the bar he was rude and persistent that we could not sit at the bar...I've never experienced anything like this before I'm still confused by this. I will not supporting this venue anymore as we drank our one and only drink we watched as others were seated at the bar but moved to other spaces in venue so I'm not clear on what was taking place but I can say my friends I took our business to another nearby venue where we Loads of Money so to the owner please talk with your manager on customer service etiquette. I will be sharing my experience with my Greek Family!

If you want to hang out with the "Grown & Sexy" and want great drinks & food! Come after work or on the weekend and have a good time!

I love the fact that this is a Black owned restaurant with actual good customer service. The food was incredible. I had the fried catfish, potatoes, omelette and chicken and waffles.

The food was pretty good but the wait staff's personality was drier than 2 day old cornbread.

Great place love the service and food, live music and awesome drinks.Everyone really have a good time when that visit, My Family and Friends love this place for many years.Owners are so friendly and polite so give them a try.PS: Having my Retirement Party and Birthday at Cornerstone Village Bar & Grille soon.
