I woke up this fine Sunday wanting some really good soul food. After searching the web, I called my compadres and asked if they wanted to tag along with me to this soul food restaurant in Inkster. I've heard mixed reviews so the foodie that I am I had to give it the good ole college try. Let's start with the mediocre: the young lady on the phone taking the orders does tend to rush through your order without comprehension. Also, the place is in a pretty sketchy neighborhood and doesn't seem very welcoming however.... The customer service was pretty good upon arrival. The good: the food was hot, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the smothered Turkey chops, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, with a side of greens. Somebody put some love in this food and you can taste it. The food was not salty or over greasy with combinations of phenomenal flavors. I also like the fact that it wasn't super over priced.. kinda felt like I ripped them off. Southern cuisine at it's finest. I'm a fan, and I will return.

The $7.99 lunch specials can't be beat. I had the bbq ribs with collard greens, fried okra, and cornbread. I was surprised at how good the meal was. I actually returned the following week and ordered the same thing. A great neighborhood soul food restaurant.

Never again.....I should've took a picture of my food before I threw it away.They need a better cook.The service was great but the food needs work.Wasn't the best... I was definitely disappointed

Absolutely delicious!First let me begin saying the small restaurant was quite clean and the tables were covered with nice cloth tablecloths. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. It was my first time there so I reviewed the menu. I ordered the grilled turkey chop dinner which comes with two sides, cornbread and dessert. I chose a side of greens (they're collard) and mac-n-cheese. In addition, I ordered cabbage. They give excellent portions with just the right amount of herbs and seasoning. It took about 15 minutes for the food to come out. Total came to about $23 and change. I can tell they really took their time marinating and preparing the food. I will be returning to Clayton's kitchen this small business deserves much praise!

The Food was amazing. Customer service was so welcoming. So glad I decided to try this place! Worth the drive . From the time I called in to place my order, until I was walking out with my food it was amazing! U have to appreciate good customer service these days. The food being great was just a bonus ‍ great place!

The soul food and service here was great... You might have to wait a bit but it is worth it.I didn't see any heat lamps- that was nice. My meals were tasty, not overly salty and filling. The price was nice also.The lobby is small but cozy... Get used to it because it takes a bit of time for them to put the dinners together. There was a steady stream of customers in my 25 minutes there- a testiment to their food and service.I'll be back!

Food was delicious! Catfish was cooked fresh and was crispy, it definitely could have used a little more seasoning in the breading but was still edible. The Mac and cheese was cheesy which is how i usually like my Mac cheese made made with block cheese no velvita. And the yams were delicious! Not overly sweet there was a balance!

This place was recommended by a friend. It's a small carry-out spot with not the usual carryout food. More of things you might get in a sit down spot. Lamb chops, charbroiled items, alfredo etc.I got the steak bites cajun style. They were very delicious with lots of flavor. Mixed with onions and mushroom on a bed of white rice. That was my favorite!!!Also got veggie platter. You can get it fried or grill. I got fried. It was good made fresh I like the fact it comes with onion rings, broccoli, zucchini, peppers. Nice variety. It came with a couple of different dipping sauces. I think just a ranch would've been ok. Overall I loved everything.It does have 2 small tables to eat at or wait for your food. For sure I'm going back I want to try the seafood Mac & cheese.

Food was pretty good wasn't a fan of the dressing but I enjoyed everything else.BBQ Ribs

FIREEEEEEEE!!!!! The catfish could raise a deadman's blood pressure. But it was really good lol. They just need to take a little seasoning off the catfish and put it on the Mac and cheese. But overall, pretty damn delicious. Better than most places. Going back again for sure.
