This restaurant was amazing. Situated inside the Cambria hotel, Cibo matches the hotel's 1920s-1930s Art Deco vibe perfectly. I ordered the Mushroom White pizza and split it with my husband. It was delicious. Probably the second best mushroom pizza I've ever had in my life. We were sitting near the pass and had been watching the Chef put the finishing touches on meals before sending them off all night. Every meal we saw him send off looked amazing, but he sent off a pasta dish and I couldn't help myself. I called out, "what's that pasta?" He told us it was the Carbonara, and we told him it looked really good, as did all the other food we saw coming through the pass. Next thing you know, our server approaches us and says the Chef is sending the Carbonara over for us. Took us by complete surprise and was such a lovely gesture. He didn't have to do that, but that he did just speaks volumes of the atmosphere and culture of the restaurant. The Carbonara was the best my husband's ever had. We stayed in Detroit for 2 nights and he couldn't stop talking about it. We'll definitely go back.

Modern interior and what a beautiful bar. Brunch was good though the menu had just changed and their vegetarian options were a little slim. There's parking on the street or garage across the street for a fee. There's also valet since it's inside the Cambria hotel. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was ok. A wee bit salty on the potatoes and their coffee was kind of cold, but their house hot sauce was pretty delicious. Locations is superb because John K King is just down the street!

The restaurant is beautiful and the portions are generous. The calamari had literally no flavor, we had to ask for a lemon and lots of extra sauce so it was palatable. The lamb chops and branzino were good, but I didn't expect the branzino to be battered and deep fried. The hummus appetizer was decent but the chips served with it were way too salty. We got a free dessert as we were celebrating a gradation, the apple dessert was delicious.

Great food, service and ambiance. Everything we had was great and we were pleasantly surprised as the location showed this is in a Cambria hotel. Normally I stay clear of hotel restaurants but cibo was great. We will be back next time we're in Detroit.

Saw some videos online and decided to come here for my wife's birthday today. I don't know where to start, everything was excellent, the staff, the service. The food, the ambiance and decor it was all top notch. Special shoutout to our server Ken S. whose recommendations were 4/4 and really made us feel special all night. There are a ton of creekstone / halal options for us to choose from I got the Delmonico steak medium rare (cooked to perfection) and my wife got this limone di mare, we loved the bread and butter that was served, we also got burrata (just delicious) and truffle parm fries as sides. The mocktails were phenomenal nice sweet not bitter, and the apple tart with apple filling and a vanilla coconut ice cream for dessert with an oat milk cappuccino. They had to call a fork lift to get me out of my chair after that meal!

I recently dined here for a birthday and it was a great experience! The decor is absolutely stunning, blending modern elegance with warm, inviting touches that create a perfect atmosphere for any occasion. We started with the lamb kafta and whipped feta. The flavors were rich and perfectly balanced. Each bite of the kafta was tender and well spiced. I really wanted to try the harissa and honey salmon, but unfortunately they ran out for the night. I tried a margherita pizza and it was a classic dish that did not disappoint. To end the night, we finished with the filet mignon which was nice and tender. Overall had a great experience and can't wait to return!

This was my first time to Detroit, and Cibo's set the bar HIGH for future restaurants. My boyfriend ordered the Giuseppe pasta, and I ordered the Bolognese. For drinks, I had the Stormy Night and he had the Jalisco Kiss. BY FAR the best food either of us has ever had anywhere. He hasn't stopped talking about needing to go back since we left.

We came here last week, looking for the adventurous Mediterranean menu with significant Arab influences that we've come to expect from this place. It was one of the more interesting menus in Metro Detroit given that it explored all of the Mediterranean and not just Italy, Spain and France. But when we sat down, we discovered it was gone. Gone like the trolleys, gone like Hudson's Department Store, gone like Atlas Global Bistro, gone like Coleman Young (oh no he doesn't belong in that list.) Sadly, it's become a red sauce, Italian joint and not even a very good one. I had the Pasta Norma, and after digging in, I was pining for my own version, which is a lot better. There are a couple of leftovers that made it onto the new menu like the fried calamari, which is still excellent and the pomegranate ribs, but all of the Arab stuff is gone, like the lamb kofta, the tabbouleh and any mention of Halal anything, so the question is why? Was the chef bored and just decided to change things up? I have a lot of respect for that. Too many restaurants here - like pretty Oak and Reel - change nothing and become museums of blah. Was it economics? Was it pressure from the culinarily illiterate locals? The malign influence of the chitlin circuiteers who like the fashion forward sense of the Art Deco reinterpretations in the bar and restaurant, but not the too-challenging menu? I was here about a year ago when one of these requested a glass of the stash of Mary J. Blige champagne that he keeps in the cooler on site! And I'm not even kidding. Watch out Veuve Clicquot or even Korbel. . Well, here's hoping this unwelcome change in the menu is just temporary - like the seasons perhaps - and can make a reappearance in the spring.
