Chin Express

I hate leaving negative reviews. I ordered last night and then saw the recent negative reviews. I had buyers remorse immediately but it was too late so I picked up my hot and sour soup and general's chicken. I'm giving 2 stars because the hot and sour is decent. Unfortunately, my general's chicken was not even recognizable. It was really bad. I can't even call it general's chicken. It was missing several things. I won't be going back to this place.

Quality is bad! We could not find beef in Mongolian Beef dish!!! General's Chicken was tough and chewy. The sauce in every dish was plain and tasteless. Too much onions in every fish to fill the plate. Egg drop soup was the worst - hardly any eggs and no taste. I wasted $50. Will never go back.

So we haven't had chin in a while but was alway great place. Today we went they have new owners the food was bland and the sauces were runny very disappointing when new owner change thing and not for the better

This joint changed their operating hours, Sundays they open late at 3pm.My son have ordered a couple of items in their generic menu, found that they never change since my last visit 10 years ago. I just wonder how they can be in business for so long, when they have a dozen competitors within 2-3 mile radius. Some rich guy must be subsidizing this joint. Sorry, I have not made a food review since, they are closed each time I make a visit.

I am still exploring Chin Express's menu. I have had General Chicken and Cashew Chicken. Both dishes were good to very good. The fried rice that you receive with the combination lunches is very flavorful and honestly excellent. I prefer spring rolls & could easily make a meal out of a couple of them. And, I can make one lunch combo last for 3 or 4 meals.I love the staff. They are enthusiastic and are very upbeat. This is, to me, one of the best Asian cuisine restaurants in the Van Buren/Canton area. The only reason that I did not bestow 5 stars is somehow my Cashew Chicken was spicy and that is not the way it is usually made! (I wasn't expecting that)

The service was incredible and the food was delicious. Came in right before close on a holiday and the only person there stayed late to make us a meal on thanksgiving. The food was delicious and the woman working was so kind. Definitely will come back!

There must have been a change in management as the quality of food and staff is much to be desired. The young lady at the cash register I could hardly hear her. When I asked her to speak up she roller her eyes because I interrupted her computer time. The food was less than tasty, nothing like it was previously. This will be the last time I visit this restaurant. Time to find a new Chinese restaurant! So sad this place is going down hill. Don't waste your money!

Well it was a good run. We returned last week and ordered our usual faves since the Mongolian Beef was just a "box o onions"Its all bad now....the Szechuan chicken is just "Szechuan veggies/onion" now too. Too bad so sad we need a new chinese place!

NEW OWNERS WITHIN THE PAST YEAR+ Very, very disappointed!!!I always had great food for over 20+ years and the same family owned it. The woman always remembered her customers and her sons each worked there before they went to college and if they came home on break, it was nice to see and hear how they were all doing. I think they must've retired, as the last time I was in, new people were there. That lady told me the others were gone and that the dishes were all the same as they had been prior.... Boy was that a lie. It was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, nothing I ordered even resembled the previous dishes, which unit in itself wouldn't have necessarily been bad if it tasted good (like it had). YUK, I can't say anything good about it. Sad when I think of how it was and how busy they used to be prior to leaving. I used to drive over 25 minutes to patronize this business as it was always a positive experience, but NO MORE. I thought I would see if maybe I had been hasty in my judgment but sadly after reading the reviews, I see I wasn't. With all the various Asian eateries around I can't imagine this will last very long. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, or TIME AND DON'T SUBJECT YOUR TASTEBUDS OR STOMACH TO THIS CRAP.PS. This is just my opinion, but after reading so many other negative reviews from the past 9+ months, clearly I'm not the only one who is no longer a fan. Be warned. Awful

Has there been a change in ownership within the last few months? We always had great portions and quality. Went last month and portions were cut in half and not the same food at all.
