Once again a fantastic time! I was thrilled that we were served by Megan again--the service was just as good this time as last.Food:BREAD SERVICE $8housemade sourdough with seasonal butterThis season's butter had cranberry in it, and I really loved the combination with the wine we had. In fact, the wine we drank was perfect with all of our food. Wine - STOLPMAN VINEYARDS 'LA CUADRILLA' Santa Barbara, CA 2022 $16/$64 BROTHER NATURE GREENS $17Poached pear, senshu apple, aged goat cheese, pistachio, blueberries, apple cider vinaigrette This was a delicious combination! Those pears...so yummy. Megan said that it was unusual that we were able to have this salad in November because it was sourced locally and we've been having unseasonably warm weather. EGGPLANT TART $20Charred tomato, onion, white bean purée, pickled radish, mustard greens, habanero salt, balsamic, cured egg yolkThis was so flavorful--it was served cold, like a salad. I loved it! CHANTERELLE MUSHROOM RISOTTO $29Delicata squash, celeriac, alba mushroom, cider honey, pepita, pomegranate I loved the juxtaposition of the soft risotto and the crunch of the pepita and pomegranate.BRAISED SHORT RIB $28Sheridan acres cassoulet, parsnip, carrot, mushroom, onion, crispy shallotThe short rib was fork tender. I loved the sauce. If I had any complaint about this meal, I would say that the short rib needed the sauce and it was good that it was there. We shared everything. By the time we got to dessert, we were too full for food, but we did top off the meal with the green and yellow chartreuse. They were each $10 per ounce. Overall, I loved my experience again. Chartreuse remains one of my favorites in Downtown Detroit.

This place was my boyfriend and i's first date spot! We love coming back here for birthdays/anniversaries/ any occasion really! We love the small plate/sharing idea and tend to gravitate towards restaurants similar. This visit was for our anniversary and they went above and beyond! Our servers are always so sweet here and continue to check in on us throughout the meal! We want to come back for lunch one day for the lamb burger!! (we did try a few weeks ago and called ahead of time to make sure we would make it in time and they told us as long as we get there before 2 they would seat us, but when we arrived at 1:45 the door was locked..) upsetting we made the trip down but won't let it change our entire view of the restaurant.

We arrived for lunch at 1:30 and were welcomed!! Our waitress Tara guided us through the menu.. the lunch special walleye sandwich was absolutely amazing. I liked the pork shank and jalapeño grits but when my friend didn't have the face of satisfaction she traded it for the most delicious beef salad that made her smile! Finishing lunch with a taste of chartreuse guaranteed our return for dinner on a different day!

Food was great! Service fantastic.... But we had to use our phone flashlights to see the food to eat. Seriously. No light above our table. Was a bummer. ... food was heavy on spice FYI.

The first callout I have to make is that the service here is absolutely incredible. I added a note that we were dining to celebrate my girlfriend's medical school residency match day, and they immediately congratulated her as we were seated and brought out complimentary mocktails as cheers. Also, as some of us didn't eat pork, they modified the menu items to avoid including it, which really showed their hospitality. Throughout the night, they were extremely attentive and got more water or cleared dishes as soon as they were finished. As for the food, they are definitely more of a shareable situation with smaller portions, although some of the main entrees are large enough to be enjoyed solo. We had a party of 3 and ended up sharing a bunch of menu items family style, and it ended up being the perfect amount of food. For starters, we ordered the bread basket, fish curry, twice cooked egg, and gobi manchurian. The twice cooked egg and the gobi manchurian were the clear standouts from that group. As the mains, we shared the lamb strip and the branzino (modified to be made without the pork vinaigrette). While the lamb was good, it was a little smaller and too fatty for my taste. The branzino was incredible, and I would 100% order that again. For dessert, we finished off with the bread pudding, and that was a delicious way to end the night. Would highly recommend checking out this restaurant! I would encourage making a reservation ahead of time to be safe and arriving a little early to find street parking.

I was in Detroit for business and did a quick survey of the restaurants in the area I was staying; Warren. So I expanded my search to Detroit and found Chartreuse on the outskirts in a trendy art district. Easy to get to and ample parking. Once I got inside I knew that I made a great decision to take a little more xtra drive. I didn't have a reservation but the hostess found me a nice spot at the bar. The bartender was cool to talk to and super helpful with drink and food recommendations. They have a nice list of specialty cocktails but I asked for a vesper which is my favorite martini. No problem at all. And perfectly prepared. I went with the twice cooked egg and man oh man there's a reason why this menu item is a permanent resident on their otherwise seasonal menu. Great spot, great food, great vibes.

First, I was expecting the side to resemble a steak house. Instead it was a lovely whimsical light and warm environment. The veggie dishes were great, the fried egg was nice, but not as good as I expected. I had the steelhead which laid on top of some beans. I believe. I was not a fan on it at all. I did love the Mocktails menu and the first Mocktails on the list, I had two of them, with a citrus yummy flavor-loved it! I would go back, but not for a serious meal maybe for a small plate and a delicious mocktail. It's a very pricey place, but the location is great (next door to the DIA) and most places are pricey now.

Whoever cooked the short rib tonight DID THAT. (I've never had short rib that had panang curry and it was divine) the sushi rice and slaw were GREAT. DELICIOUS DISH. PHENOMENAL GREAT SERVICEI love the setting, it's dark and cozy, but not too small. I ordered cava, and the pour was nice. I'd come back for date night. Thanks for the great service and food.

We had a reservation for our anniversary dinner on a Friday night. We quickly found street parking and when we got there the host told us that our table was not ready yet. We were able to wait in the lounge and order some cocktails but our table was ready in a few minutes. We started off with drinks and I ordered the last word which is their signature cocktail and I really enjoyed it. Some highlights of food was the tuna tartare and the pork dish that we had. I thought that the wings were just okay. I will definitely be back to try their different menus!

Overall, I'd have to say this is one of the best restaurants that I have ever been to. The service is top tier and never disappoints. Plates and silverware are swapped out frequently. It is very clean and beautiful on the inside as well. I came here for a one year anniversary dinner with my girlfriend and they put "Happy Anniversary!" on the front of our menus. This was our first date spot, and we continue to come each year for either our anniversary or for Valentine's Day- whichever one is available at the time. The food is amazing. The meats are always very tender and flavorful. The twice cooked egg is so simple yet so delicious. We consider getting two when we come, but there are so many delicious dishes on the menu that we decide it is best to try 5-6 different dishes each time we go. Typically we each get a cocktail or two, and they are very tasty as well. Sometimes my girlfriend gets 3 if she's feeling frisky! The salads are amazing and fresh. We always have a whole lot of fun during our visits at Chartreuse, and we always leave satisfied! We have yet to try the lunch, but we are always looking forward to it as we mention it every couple of weeks to each other! I would say if you are looking for a warm, cozy, welcoming, uplifting environment with amazing food, amazing service, and beautiful ambiance, then Chartreuse is your place to go and experience!
