A new friend and i decided to walk here looking for a wine spot - well we don't we hit the jackpot but it was more of MEH vibe. What we found out is this place is more for DRY drinkers - very limited with sweet options. They did have a food available but we opt'd out. Server was very attentive with the mild crowd but having the knowledge on the wine seemed limited.ok vibe - only thing i wasn't pleased about when he don't check in the middle of conversation and walked away; we didn't know they closed at 11pm so maybe that was reason for the oddness at the end. Then not being informed there's a "20% living fee" attached to the bill around - so i ended up tipping twice. My fault for not reading everything.Would I come back? Probably not! Happy drinking!!!

I'd like to start this by saying this is one of the most hospitable places I've been too! It was a Tuesday night and my partner was dying to snack at La Feria, the restaurant part of this venue. We arrived there a bit too late and the kitchen was closed. The manager felt bad and invited us in for a drink... and that's when our night began! From there we got to order in a few glasses and chat up a storm with both the manager and Stevie, one of the servers there. Great wine selection and even better company! They even let us try some of the Paella since we were pretty hungry and wow was it DELISH! The spot is very Spanish inspired and looks very authentic. If you enjoy wine and charcuterie you'll really love this spot. If you're looking to enjoy good hospitality, good quality vino and an overall memorable experience I recommend to make your way out to Cata Vino mercado & wine bar + try out La Feria a bite!

Cata Vino is my favorite restaurant in Detroit's Cass Corridor neighborhood. It offers authentic Spanish tapas, an extensive wine list, imported beer, and a small but unique selection of artisanal groceries in an intimate and cozy setting that feels like one is dining at a café in Spain. This review is long overdue as my first time dining at Cata Vino was shortly before Christmas with some of my work colleagues. In hindsight, this holiday gathering now feels more significant because it was one of the last times I dined in a restaurant with a group of people before the pandemic. So much has changed since then! I was able to try a good number of dishes on the menu and all of them were delicious. Some of my favorites tapas are the Berenjinas Fritas - fried eggplant with sea salt and honey, Morcilla - blood sausage with cumin and rice, Chorizo, and Gambas al Ajillo - seared shrimp with garlic, dried chili flakes, olive oil, and parsley. When the stay at home order ended and restaurants reopened in June, Cata Vino was the first restaurant I went to for takeout tapas. I ordered the Berenjinas Fritas and the Tostada de Almogrote - cured sheep cheese, garlic, olive oil, and dried chili flakes. Everything still tasted wonderful and I realized how much I missed the food from here. Cata Vino adjoins with La Feria and serves the same cuisine, only the Cata Vino side has the wine bar and what looks like hundreds of bottles to choose from. Carry out and curbside pickup is available so please support this wonderful locally-owned restaurant!

Really terrific ambience, and a great location in the Midtown district of Detroit. A nice tapas bar with a tremendous staff, including Lucas behind the bar. He made the visit special for us. If you're into the garlic, the garlic shrimp dish is enough to choke a vampire.

Soooo this place is literally just La Feria? We were super excited to try this cool Spanish wine bar, but when we got here we realized it's literally just another room next to La Feria. You can get all of the same food and drinks at both places, so why on earth does this business even exist? Why is the whole place not just La Feria? I don't understand.(La Feria is a five star establishment for sure though, so I figured three stars for this weirdness was reasonable?)

My beautiful lady and I arrived in time for their happy hour. We're a sucker for a good cab and this was a great one! We only stayed for 2 glasses as we were waiting for dinner so I don't have much to say other than their happy hour is a fantastic one. Turns out the bottle is only $14 and they have tons of options if you want to take one home. Happy hour price is $3 Mon-Thur (4-7pm) I believe..may be 8pm? I can't remember.Located in Midtown by cass & alexandrine.

Six of us dropped into Cata Vino for drinks and apps on a Saturday evening. There were six seats at the bar open, luckily. We all enjoyed our cocktails and charcuterie plate. This is a nice spot to enjoy before going out to eat or waiting for a table at La Feria (connected next door)

Run here!! Their small plates are amazing, I had one of my favorite meals...ever... here! We got the calamar a la parilla, calamares fritos, gambas al aijillo, and steak con mojo. The calamar a la parilla is the best thing hands down. It was grilled to perfection, the texture was the right kind of bite, and the aioli paired with it perfectly, after trying we immediately ordered a second. The shrimp is also super good with a great spice balance, and a tasty sauce that is worth every dip into it. Their wine selection is also so vast it's great, the staff was super friendly, and the food came out very fast even though they were packed on a Friday night. I can't recommend this place enough!

I stopped in here for the first time with friends as we were waiting for our table at La Feria. This is such a nice addition to La Feria; though they are separate, they are owned by the same people. This is definitely a wine bar and not a tapas restaurant. You can order beer, red or white wines or mixed drinks. There are only cold tapas and minimal ones at that. There are cheeses and other Spanish food ingredients for sale; though I really didn't look at these to know what the prices or varieties available. I ordered a white wine flight which was 2/3 good. Not that the wine was bad, just that I didn't like one. One of my friends likes really sweet drinks. One of the bartenders made her a specialty off the cuff sweet drink. It was quite good with a nice note of citrus. You can get Sangria next door and drink here. Sangria is not available here. This is a good way to spend time waiting for your table at La Feria. I will be back.
