I'm obsessed with Cafe Sous Terre. I've been here at least 10 times, and it never disappoints. The coffee is consistently delicious, and the staff is so friendly.Their beans are from Sabbath, so you already know you're getting quality. Plus, their unique homemade syrups are a game changer -my favorites are the Floral and Anise Caramel. The vibes are on point, with a retro-grungy aesthetic that's anchored by their stunning green subway tile backsplash. It's the kind of place where you want to hang out for hours.I haven't tried their happy hour yet, but it's definitely on my to-do list. Highly recommend this gem to anyone who appreciates great coffee, creativity, and killer ambiance!Check out my Instagram for more @hangry_detroiter

This place is in the lower level on a pretty lowkey building near Wayne State (not entirely sure if it is accessible for wheel chairs/strollers).The interior is picture perfect. The design of the space is gorgeous.Best part is the coffee and food match the vibe! My favorite duo is the iced latte and quiche. Every time I've been in, the staff has been quick and friendly.I plan to come back for cocktails soon!

I absolutely love the environment here. It was subtly decorated for halloween and the dim lighting is perfect. I met up with a friend on a Friday around 5pm and it wasn't crowded at all! Free street parking around as well. The iced matcha with caramel syrup was mid for $7 lol so I would pass but my friend enjoyed her decaf coffee along with her raspberry sweet treat.

Tucked behind an unassuming entrance, this spot opens into a dimly lit, cozy space that transitions from an intimate café to a chic cocktail bar. The aesthetic gives off classic speakeasy vibes. Service was great, and both the food and coffee were equally good.

Awesome little place for a bite (the Croque Monsieur was as good as any I've had in France!), a coffee, or a nice glass of wine. Super cute decor, friendly service, and overall good vibes.Could spend hours here doing some work, reading a book, or just hanging with friends.

Stopped in after dinner for a drink. This is a small but cute cafe. I had a glass of wine which was reasonably priced and it was easy to grab a table. Your order at the counter and then grab a seat. Perfect spot to catch up with a friend! They have a wide range of cocktails and coffee drinks.

I'm currently sitting in Cafe Sous Terre and had to pen this review because I just had THE BEST QUICHE I'VE EVER HAD. Their quiche Lorraine? Perfection. A light crust filled with a silky, soft egg custard dotted with chunks of ham and bits of gruyere cheese. I ate this one slow, savoring every bite. And now that I'm sitting here writing about it I'm very much contemplating getting another slice to go for tomorrow.it's 90 degrees outside right now so of course also ordered a iced latte, flavored with their house made vanilla and forest oak syrup. I was unfamiliar with the latter but they informed me it's their most popular flavors so I tried it and it's SO good. But if you're not into earthier flavors they also have floral, spice blend, mocham anise caramel, and honey flavors as well.Want a stiffer drink? They also have a full bar with cocktail options and several wine and beer options to choose from. Me? I'm sticking with my coffee for now, though I am intrigued by their jasmine old-fashioned (WDC blind cut bourbon, jasmine, oolong, coconut oil, orange, and bitters). The space itself is lovely. They're on the garden floor of mostly residential street, which is charming. Each table has several outlets to plug into which make setting up here and working perfect. Until 5pm, at least. It's laptops down here come quittin' time for the 9-5ers. And speaking of, I'm writing this at 4:50pm so I'm going to have to pack it up myself, soon! But first, time to get another slice of that quiche!

Went with some friends to just chat and we went to this café. It is a nice cozy, intimate relaxing place. They have a little bit of everything for their amazing coffee, more of their nighttime beverages. There is street parking nearby.

I was looking for a coffee shop in mid-town early on a Monday morning and lo and behold, this little subterranean spot beaconed me from the street. Down the stairs and into the delightful art-deco space, i found a French coffee and pastry shop. The barista was dressed very Euro. I tried the brewed coffee - flavorful, hot and full of fruity notes. My companion enjoyed a lovingly made Cortado. The Mushroom Quiche was fresh, hot and light as a cloud. My Gougère savory cheese puff pastry was warm, crispy on the outside and deliciously buttery-airy on the inside. The inner space is beautiful. Music - jazzy and soft in the morning. As i lingered more and more patrons took to the tables nearby for laptop meetings. I WILL return readily!
