"This is an unsung gem in Detroit. Great prices, incredible food, and friendly service."
"Just get the sexy tacos. It'll change your life. They hit EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. The service has always been good. One of my go to taco spots in the city."

"This place is all about the food. It has the best Mexican food I've ever had outside of Mexico. No paying me to say this. It's the best Mexican food I've ever had and beyond anything in Lake Orion, though, that really goes without saying. Everything on the menu we've had is fantastic, the flavors, the food quality, the quantities (excessive quantities but most folks love that). The place has been open for over a year now and doesn't seem to ever get crowded, and I assume that's driven by their being on Lapeer Road just south of Heights Road as opposed to in town where everything is located. If you want to wait forever for a table and very mid grade Mexican go in town to Sagebrush. If you want phenomenal food and good margaritas Lake Rock is just wow."
"Fast service. Spicy chicken slider was great also their shoe string fries. Had Oberon on tap. Any Michigan restaurant or bar not having Oberon during season is unforgivable. Cheese curds also tasty. Very reasonable prices. If I had to search for any negatives would be hopefully they expand their menu and it was quite noisy. Don't know if that's beyond their control though."
"My sister and I stopped in for tacos to go on our way back to Mom's place. The outside of the building looks like some serious damage was done as it was boarded up and the other side had a big hole in the glass. After reading Yelp reviews, I decided to give this place a chance so I bought a Groupon for $10 worth of food. My sister and I only wanted something light, so we got two tacos each and one Pescado taco for my mom since she probably already had lunch. All tacos are $3.50 each now as noted on their menus on the counter. I had the shrimp tacos and they were quite good small street taco style with a corn tortilla. There wasn't much topping on it and I did ask for sour cream from my mom's fish tacos, but I don't know if the man behind the counter fully understood my request. my sister had the meat tacos and she enjoyed them. It is super close to my mom's place on Walton so I'll probably be back in the future next time I'm in town."
"The service is what separates this restaurant from others in this area - especially our server Kristin!"
"We had a really good experience here and were pleased with our food. It was near to where we were staying, and was really accessible."
"We absolutely love the old takeout place taco tienda so we had to try this new restaurant that they opened up. The food is still very very good, but now it cost more, which we expected. The service seems to be hit or miss. Our waiter was not very attentive. It was busy. He did not bring us water for about 40 minutes. The waitress at the table next to us came around with a pitcher multiple times, so I think the service in general was good. We just got unlucky. My husband loved the fajitas and I thought the chicken quesadillas were delicious. You do not get free chips here. I thought you would but we did like that the dip came with three options. We did not get a cocktail menu so we were not prompted to order a drink."
"They have chicken birria tacos!! First time trying the chicken version of birria tacos. I am not the biggest fan of red meat so when I heard they make their birria tacos with chicken I just had to stop by and try them! Best decision made all week! They definitely do not skimp on the meat portions for the tacos, so mouthwatering and full of flavor. A must try if you are in the area. The people behind the counter were so sweet and really care about their business. It is located inside a liquor store but there is 1 dining table you're able to sit at and enjoy your food. I will be coming back more often when in the area."
"Twelve stars for Amigos!! OMG we just finished such a feast! No wimpy portions or flavors here. We couldn't decide so we had tacos locos, chicken quesadilla, crispy wrap, chicken fajita bowl, fish tacos and fresh made chips from their fresh-made tortillas. No idea they would offer such huge portions. There was a guy at the counter eating a special burrito - he needed two hands to get around that thing and it looked awesome. We hadn't been to amigos for a bit- our loss- and their new location in the village of GP is getting all the press but the chef and staff here at this location really deserve a round of applause!"
"At a graduation party in Orchard Lake and Shell Shock'd is here providing food for the party. It is all GREAT!!The birria, the chicken birria, the guacamole with chips and the corn are all fire!!!!Please check these guys out!!"
"Food good on every visits! The restaurant itself is beautiful! My first visit we had a phenomenal waitress! This is my second time here, the female bartender is anything but friendly, just dry acting, her energy is throwing me off, my guest and I had to leave the bar and sit in a booth. She seem to have perked up once we moved, she ended up being our server. I hope she gets her act together eventually. But other than that I will be back because I like the food."

I ordered 4 steak 4 chicken tacos, 2 sides of rice and beans and a chicken quesadilla..28$ not bad at all! I was stuffed eating 3 tacos, they are flavorful and full of meat! I also appreciate that they give you ample sauce , grilled onions, grilled jalapenos, radishes and limes on the side!! And the customer service was exceptional! Definitely will be going back

I have followed this Detroit food truck on Instagram for a few months, but hadn't gotten around to visiting. After seeing a recent post indicating that they've changed the name from "Taco Time" to "Tuff Taco", I was reminded to check it out. I stopped by on Taco Tuesday hoping to have a memorable experience, and I did.I stepped up to the order window and was offered candy by the gentleman server. He was super friendly.I ordered shrimp tacos and Mexican Street Corn.He offered to add a hot cheeto topping, which I declined, but apparently this is a popular treat to their patrons.I intended to take my food home to eat, but while stuck in construction traffic, the parm on the corn beckoned me to take a bite.I was glad that I did. The hot corn on the cob topped with dressing, cheese and seasoning was the tastiest bite I'd had in a while. It's arguably the best Street corn that I've had.The shrimp tacos were delicious as well. Also offered on the menu is halal beef tacos, loaded nachos, quesadillas and chips. My food totaled about $14 and was definitely worth what I paid.Special thanks for the service. It was a cold wind out that day; the gentleman who took my order brought it out to my car saving me from braving the elements to go back and get it when it was ready.I definitely recommend this taco truck and will certainly be back.

What a wonderful place to have a meal. As soon as I walk in I was greeted. very clean, the music was not to loud and the menu has plenty of options. They have a good amount of tvs and bar area is very inviting. My waitress Isabella was amazing! Her smile is like a sparkle! Our food was hot and fresh, and even the cook came out and ask if I was pleased which I was. They even thank me for coming in. Everyone is super nice!I will definetly be back many many times in the near future.

Amazing food, friendly staff and dog friendly shady outdoor patio! I had the pickle chips and they were great! Everything we had was outstanding! I would recommend the onion rings and the southern dawg.

Came in on a Thursday evening. Walked in and staff were behind the counter. Let them know we were dining in and they said to sit wherever. Small/narrow inside with mostly booths. Some bar top seating that faces the kitchen. I noticed lots of carry outs being picked up. One single stall bathroom but stuff was blocking the door to get in. If someone used a walker or wheelchair, there would be no way to get in. The bathroom was much bigger than expected.Menus are at the table along with a QR code on the menu that takes you to their full menu. Staff were friendly and one waiter was for the all the tables. Squirt bottles of salsa were brought to the table and we started taste testing. One was hot and Smokey, one was a verde, and one was red and more mild. The chips were delicious. Went with the queso and guac. Big portions. I didn't really like the guacamole, it seemed runny rather than creamy. The queso was very good. Got the taco dinner. I got the shrimp tacos and my husband got the beef tacos. Very good!! Tasted fresh and the rice and beans were also delicious. My husband also got a quesadilla and was happy with it. Took a long time to cash out and get our bill to leave. One of the better Mexican places in the area that is more authentic.

Went with a large group of friends. Food was amazing and yummy. Service took a while but that's to be expected with a large group. Props to our waitress she handled the table all on her own and did a great job.

My family frequently has dinner at Don Taco and we love it. I decided to have them do the catering for my Fire Department holiday party this past weekend. I can honestly say we will be doing this again for sure. We did a taco bar and it was absolutely perfect. PLENTY of food and everything was fresh and so yummy! Everyone LOVED it! Thank you Don Taco!

Great lunch at Taco Tequila Y Mas. House margarita tasted freshly made albeit pricey. Free chips and salsa are always appreciated and seemed fresh as well. I tried their chicken fajitas and was not disappointed. The sides included fresh guacamole at no additional cost. Will be back.

"Hot chicken is amazingChinese food is mediocre. But im chinese so i guess its good for Detroit"
"So happy they opened a location in the Wixom area! We ordered online for pickup and the order was 100% correct. I love a taco salad and theirs is so good and very generous serving! We also enjoyed the Fajita Trio, and Combo Plate that came with 2 beef tacos, cheese enchilada, bean & cheese tostada and a pork tamale-all very delicious. And of course had to sample sides of queso, guacamole and chips & salsa which were all top notch. Definitely will be ordering frequently as our new favorite local Mexican restaurant."
"Tucked away in Eastern Market in Detroit, this little spot delivers great taste. We ate in and out service was excellent. I was hoping to order fajitas as it is my go to dish, but the closest they come is a fajita burrito. They keep it clean and the staff works very hard. If you're in the area, I recommend you give them a try!"
"Such an awesome spot to grab a beer downtown. Great local feel with a clean and cool interior. Really good beer and cocktail options with ample seating. Will definitely be a go-to!"
"Friday evening dinner. The restaurant was constantly buzzing with activity, but we were able to sit right away (2).I had the shrimp fajitas. They were outstanding. The staff was very attentive and we never had to wait for help. This is a great neighborhood gem."
"I love going to the beach in the middle of downtown! I appreciate that this is annual summer thing now in Campus Martius. A great chance to put my feet in the sand. This is a great Happy Hour destination. This beach bar has fun seating, cool vibes, and great music. Excellent service from Brandon. The drinks are tasty and the truffle fries are delicious!"
"Great new addition to the Mexican food scene in the area! The ingredients are authentic, the salsas are homemade, the meats are well-seasoned, and the staff is friendly. My ONLY complaint is they don't have salt on the tables -- I like both salt and lime on my street tacos. That said, it's still 5 stars for me, and I highly recommend the Campechano and Al Pastor on corn."
"I haven't been back in a few years so I had to post an update! I had an amazing experience at The Taco Stand Taqueria! The outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying a meal on a nice day. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home. But the real star is the food - it's fantastic! The California burrito, in particular, is a must-try. It's jam-packed with fresh ingredients and a hearty portion of tender steak, making every bite a delight. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great taqueria experience!"
"At Muncheez one can live every day like Taco Tuesday! Ok, that's probably corny, but I'm in my feels.I really enjoy a theme; doesn't everyone? Especially when it's tied to a comforting crave-worthy food like tacos.I thoroughly enjoyed Muncheez. I just hate that it's so far from my home; but perhaps that's a good thing.Walking in, the service counter is the first thing that you see. You order your food, prepare your own drink and seat yourself. There are lots of yummy treats on the menu to choose from. All Taco Tuesday worthy. There are tacos of course, but also cheese sticks, chicken fingers, sweet treats, burgers, quesadillas, and chips & guac to name a few.I ordered birria and supreme tacos and a side of guac with no onion. The birria is so darn tasty; with tender meat, gooey cheese and the magic of the sauce-dipped fried tortilla, it's seriously taco heaven.I could eat these every week. The supreme was good as well. The guac was so great. I think I tasted lime which accents the avo well. I don't care for strong onion-filled guac. I was pleased that they made me an order without it.I really enjoyed the setting. I visited about an hour before closing, the lights in the dining area were turned down, while roaring fires on video screens lit the room. There was also a telenovela playing on the television.I felt so warm, cozy and entertained. The ambiance made the dining experience even better.Kudos to the staff at Muncheez. What you're doing there truly works for this Yelping fan."
"This Mexican taqueria is a hidden gem in downtown Detroit. Don't judge the size of this place, because the food is excellent, affordable and folks that work there are awesome. A taco lover's hotspot! They also have great burritos, enchiladas and quesadillas. It's ideal for take-out, but they have small dine in area, too. I'm always greeted warmly and the staff there aim to please their customers. Highly recommended!"
"Best Birria tacos I've ever had. AnywhereEverything's good here, but these are the best things on the menu not even close! Service is great Ambiance is great"
"Came here with some coworkers and a salesperson who took us to lunch twice now in the last weeks, and what' a pleasant surprise. Normally I would have just passed by this place, doesn't look like much from the outside and being in a strip mall, but I do recommend giving this place a try.The menu is not your typical Mexican that you would find in Michigan, they have wide variety of fresh creative items along with some traditional favorites. We had the guacamole, queso for starters, ver good. I had the shredded beef enchiladas both times, very good. The service is top notch, fast, friendly and efficient. They were surprisingly busy for a Monday lunch today. The ambience is clean and modern. Give them a try!"
"Unfortunately , I'm not easily impressed because I have been continuously disappointed with the food scene in SE Michigan, but Corktown and Ferndale do have great Mexican fare. Well maybe BHam is turning a new leaf for lunch with Employee Meal because I have to say this is the best Mexican I've had in a long time and has to be among the best in the metro area. The second best feature is the prices.... $10-12 lunch tacos. The third best feature is the experience with the clean, cozy and tastefully decorated inside as well as the very considerate staff who easily accommodated our kid. And true to their name, the music was well chosen and appropriate for dining. Not the typical BHam daytime nightclub vibe! What a pleasurable, naw, awesome lunch! What we had:Chips and guacamole - delicious, well seasoned, chunky Arroz and frijoles - deliciousBarbacoa - deliciousArabe - delicious"
"One of my favorite cuisine is Korean BBQ. This was my first time here. It didn't take me long to appreciate Kimchi Plus! Fantastic meal, wonderful service and such a clean and cool aesthetic. Each side (banchan) was delicious and complimented the meal and a nice appetizer as well. I enjoyed the japchae as it had deep flavors and oh, so satisfying! The meat variety were all quality with nice sized portions. The marinade that is used is spot on! It enhances the meat so much! I enjoyed the shrimp and BBQ chicken. My dining party raved about the kalbi and the bulgogi. We also loved the eggs and corn cheese. What treats! It really rounded out the meal. Everyone was so nice and accommodating! The staff is great! the entire experience was amazing! We cannot wait to return!"
"The service was great. I think 3 people checked in on us during our visit. The menu is really solid and I like that I can order things ala carte, I don't always want the rice and beans. They also have Combos for $13. I wound up getting the 3 taco combo but could only finish 2. My husband got the que pasa burrito and it was large enough that he brought half home for lunch tomorrow. We live around the corner and I'm happy to have a close place with easy parking when I don't want to go downtown."
"It is one of the best Mexican supermarkets I've been to in metro Detroit, even beating the supermarkets in Mexicantown. La Tiendita is a small supermarket packed with everything you need to create Mexican food at home - fresh meat, cheese, salsa, guacamole, fruits, and vegetables. The supermarket also offers an extensive menu of Mexican favorites made to order. The burrito was delicious and huge. It was enough for two meals - one of the best burritos I've had. The Aqua Fresca was also delicious. There is no reason to go to fast food Mexican restaurants when there are places like La Tiendita. This will be the only place in the Westland area I'll go to for Mexican food from now on."
"WTF is a solid neighborhood bar. I love that they're so engaged with the community, and that they come out to sell margs when there are movies in the street, etc. Their margs are great, bartenders are great, but most often I get margs to go because I don't love being in the space. It's got a little bit of a chaotic vibe, and is usually pretty loud. I do frequent the patio in the summer, but it is on a busy road so not the most chill vibes?Biggest down side is that the table service is hit or miss. We came close to kitchen-last-call one night and had a super weird interaction with a server who (first of all sat down at our table un-invited .. we didn't know him) and *kinda* said the kitchen was closing, but then let us order, but was weird about it. So we ate, but felt bad? It was so weird. As far as the tacos - they're solid. Lots of options traditional and non-traditional."
"Went on a Sunday during the Lions game and got front row seats at the bar! They also have a breakfast bar on Sunday mornings so I highly recommend going during a game. Our bartender was great & served a heavy pour!!"
"Very unassuming small Mexican restaurant that offers a big big taste punch! After reading the other YELP reviews I had high hopes for this business and was not disappointed. This place is definitely authentic from the menu being in Spanish, to the staff speaking only Spanish amongst themselves, to the way the food is prepared and the ingredients being used. This is really Mexican food at its best! The Taco's as mentioned in the other reviews are quite good as is the Guacamole. The star for us though are the burrito's that were very well made and packed full of delicious flavor. For me, these are the best Burrito's I have had in this area and stack up with the best That Mexican Town in Detroit has to offer. No small feat!As mentioned in other reviews the place is quite small and fills up quickly. They also do carry out which is what we do and is a great way of getting around potential issues with being unable to get a table during busy times.Overall a super good Mexican restaurant that needs to be sampled to be appreciated and a place you absolutely need to check out especially if you are a fan of Mexican cuisine. You will not be disappointed."
"Came here on a weekday after biking with my boyfriend. The boyfriend was craving tripas (tripe) and it definitely satisfied his craving. Also ordered al pastor and carnitas tacos, along with birria pizza, ceviche, and rice. They had no horchata but still everything hit the spot. They accept cash only and theres one picnic table under a tent to eat. Enjoyed our meal outside and will definitely be back. Be careful of the huge crater pothole on the road when turning into the tqco truck parking spaces."
"Came here for dinner on sunday night with my fiance. There was one person in front of us. This is a food truck juat off 75 with a private parking lot. We ordered tripas (tripe), lengua (beef tongue), and cabeza (beef head). Also ordered a horchata and it only.comes in pne size small. Tacos were good but it is wrapped in foil so be prepared if you are eating this in your car. They have a few tables to eat under the tent. After enjoying our tacos we got elotes and fruit (mango and papaya) with chamoy in the little truck behind this taco truck in the same lot. No photos of tacos because we were so hungry"
"I didn't think I would concur but....This place totally rocks Upon entry I was initially disappointed by the fact that it seemed kind of upscale, fast food, and one does not get chips and salsa, and the prices are very very high. ($40 for two burritos and two drinks). And the chips that you get are hardly worth the name.I was totally prepared to write about what all the fuss was about Then I had the burrito it's probably the best burrito I have ever had. And it was so large that it was like having two meals but I crushed the entire thing. The burrito was so good that it absolutely neutralized everything that I wrote above that usually would be considered a strike Nice clean restaurant. Pretty simple menu that seems to lean into tacos and burritos I see now why everyone gives it such high ratings"
"Casa Amado Taqueria is not your typical taco joint with predictable toppings but instead offers up a more gourmet version of a traditional taco. The menu, which is a bit limited, is centered around taco's, quesidilla's and their spin on a Mexican version of the hotdog. The base taco's have a double soft corn tortillas with your choice of seared/braised meat, tomato and cilantro. From there the taco's take an upscale twist with toppings that include roasted Nopale and bell peppers, creamy roasted poblanos, pickled onions, cactus and bell pepper slaw and other toppings to include some unique sauces. These toppings vary depending on the taco ordered. In the case of my inaugural meal at this establishment I had the three taco combo of chipolte chicken, beef and pork. all three tacos were well cooked and tasty where I absolutely loved the double tortilla concept. In addition to the tacos, I also ordered their house chips with a mild tomato salsa and their medium spicy chipotle Arbor salsa. The chips were well made with a nice crunchy texture and the salsa's while good did not stand out like the taco's did. Relative to the facility itself, Casa Amado has a small seated dining area on the second floor of the restaurant that has a comfy casual vibe to it. Staff is very friendly with prompt service and excellent follow-up.Overall I had a very enjoyable dining experience and am looking at returning here again in the near future. If you are in the Berkley area and like Mexican food you should definitely check Casa Amado out and their spin on gourmet taco's."
