Melissa S. "On the way home from the grocery store off of Outer Dr, I spotted a very unique looking food truck and immediately thought "what in the world is that!?"I got home, unloaded the weekly food shopping and told the husband "get in the car, we need to investigate". We headed back to the truck and were delighted to see that it was a SUSHI TRUCK!!!The aesthetic is casual yet approachable class which is carried out in the truck design, logo, menu, and packaging. We got their Signature roll, Caterpillar roll, and the Mt. Fuji roll and went home to chomp it all up (they do have a deal with Custard Co. to used their tables if you want to dine al fresco).Guys, I am not exaggerating when I say it was like high-end amazing... Fresh, flavorful, and phenomenal. The Mt. Fuji roll was my favorite, the rice was perfect all around, and one of the rolls has shrimp and I normally hate the texture of shrimp. In this case the shrimp was just so dang good, it made me wonder what I've been missing my whole life!I will not be shocked when this becomes a super successful dine in restaurant one day and I'll be first in line to make a reservation to take my friends for the best sushi of their lives."

Road, which I have a theory that that road is a lay lie for excellent food. I have been there four times now or so. I choose them over other fast/casual or fancy spots, especially for lunch as they have excellent lunch specials. Is the sushi the best I have ever had? No, but it is the best I've found in the metro Detroit area for the price. The last time I went, I think the shrimp and the tuna were a little meh, but the Esocolar and Salmon were excellent. They accidentally gave me the chicken katsu when I was there last and I ate it while waiting for my sushi special. I would put their katsu against Ima Izakaya, for half the price, it was at least as good. Their tempura, seaweed salad, and miso are all very good and they have a good house sake as well as Japanese beers. Kampai!"

Karol C. "Fabulous healthful lunch choice in a busy urban area!My co-worker and I are sorta foodies. We had been eyeing Poke Poke since it opened as we work across the street; finally we made it over. As we took our first bites, we gave one another a look as if to say "Why in the world did we take so long to try this place!" I was sold on the menu as I perused it online. Fresh choices of some of my favorite sushi ingredients. When we walked in, I was impressed. I immediately forgot that I was in this busy hub of the city and was impressed by the clean fresh atmosphere. We were greeted warmly before we even reached the counter. We filed in the short line as we conversed with the staff. We informed them that this was our first visit; and were given a guided tour of the menu.We both decided on signature bowls instead of creating our own. I chose the Spider Bowl and he ordered the Rainbow bowl. I ordered the small bowl at $11, and was glad that I did as any more food would have been too heavy for the middle of a work day. The small build your own bowls are $10; the large $13.Base options for the bowls are brown rice, white rice or spring mix. The brown rice was good and fluffy. The bowls are topped with a scoop of protein. Choices include: ahi tuna, spicy tuna, shrimp, tofu, ahimi and a few others. Then your choice of veggies and fruit. Watermelon radish, corn, avocado, blue berries, carrot, cabbage, edamame, mango, etc. I really liked the preparation of the seaweed. My bowl was topped with spicy mayo, I also added wasabi soy, which was super yummy. They also offer miso soup, ginger salad, a host of drink choices and a few other meal choices.I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the food and will definitely return often."

Suzanne B. "It was a cold and rainy weekday. With the weather having recently turned full-on fall, I needed something piping hot to keep me warm. After a quick perusal of Yelp, I decided to try out a new place. Tucked away in a small shopping center on Plymouth, Saica is unassuming from the outside, but is a cozy respite from the ordinary on the inside. The decor is clean without being spartan, and tables are spaced perfectly so it doesn't feel too snug. We were seated quickly and I decided almost immediately on the Bulgogi Udon. A short wait later my meal arrived, and it didn't disappoint. Hot, umami, and with perfectly slurpable noodles, I didn't hold back as I enjoyed my food. I think I finished it in record time, and didn't leave any room for dessert (a reason to come back, then!) There's an enticing-looking sushi bar that we didn't take advantage of on this trip, but I'll bookmark that for our next outing!"

Ron W. "As much as I love Japanese and Korean food, I am surprised that I haven't discovered this place earlier. I have been to the neighboring Lai Lai numerous times in the past, but never ventured into this gem. It was only on a recommendation from one of the workers at the nearby Galleria Market that I decided to check this restaurant out, and I am very happy that I did.I decided for my first visit at lunchtime to order a bowl of what my friends in Tokyo call the epitome of Japanese Soulfood: Oyakodon. This is a donburi (rice bowl), that features cooked chicken, egg, and onion on sticky rice. The name, literally means "parent-and-child rice bowl," and derives from the use of chicken (parent) and egg (child). Just about every city in Japan has a restaurant in their neighborhood that serves this dish. Usually, Oyakodon is made with dark meat from the thighs, but at Sushi Dabu they use white breast meat from the chicken, which gives it a much different taste. This is also true of other Japanese entrées they serve. I also noticed the meat was slightly dry, but my taste buds discovered that the dashi used to make the Oyakodon was lacking in flavor. So I asked the owner for a salt shaker to give it a boost. From what I was able to gather, the owners at Sushi Dabu believe in making their food as healthy as possible, using low sodium and no flavor enhancers. This would make completely sense, and is a heart-smart approach to cooking, which promotes a healthy living lifestyle. With that being said, they only offer Kikkoman Low Sodium soy sauce at the tables, which they use in their cooking methods. Finally, the interior of the restaurant is very clean, which also includes the bathrooms. Likewise, the new owners now serve sake, beer, and other alcohol products. Honestly, this is a place you can take your family, friends, and coworkers to for an enjoyable meal. The next time I go back, I am going to check out their sushi, and other entrées. Their Korean menu looks amazing! Honestly, how can you go wrong with a bowl of bibimbap!?"

I have pics of everything we got, but we got a good variety. Everything was such a good version of itself. The miso soup was fresh tasting and had a variety of flavors to it with the seaweed and green onions. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy, and the pineapple and carrots had awesome flavor to them. The fried rice has a tasty bbq flavor to them, where you can tell it was fried on a hibachi. Not much chicken in it, but this wasn't bothersome to us. My 4 year old ate the fried rice for the first time and said it's her favorite rice! The sizzling green beans were SO crunchy and had such a perfect, tasty sauce. Chicken was quality and sliced thin. Would have like a few fresh green beans too, those are always good. Good udon soup. Large portion. Sushi: Love roll and California roll, good fresh, well made. Enjoyed the 3 types of sauces. Down side: a few misses with delivery of food- rice and tempura sauce were not delivered at first... but did arrive a bit later. Alaina C. "I'm about to drop a truth bomb that just might break Yelp. Brace for impact: My first experience at Cafe Sushi was better than my first experience at Noble Fish. Periot. For starters, they were open when I needed them to be - no weird or random closures. Crooks and Maple, next to T-mobile. A very cute little scene (dining room currently closed), but I would hardly consider this a store front. Yes, the sushi counter/case is literally RIGHT in your face when you walk in - who doesn't want this?! They have no choice BUT to keep it clean! Everything was clean and fresh and right there to see. The lady running the place was polite and professional, no complaints. She said the order would be ready in 20 minutes, it was ready in 20 minutes. She greeted her regulars on the phone by name and even remembered some of their orders. The only disappointment was not being able to sit and experience the coziness and inviting feeling of the dining room, to no fault of theirs! I look forward to a day when places like this can fully re-open. And now, the food. 5 stars for freshness and quality. Not one SINGLE funky piece of fish. No weird strings of hard-to-chew fat in the salmon, you know what I'm talking about. I won't even try to go into detail. Just observe this fine work of art. This is what 20 minutes and $61.00 for a carry-out at Cafe Sushi gets you (miso soup not pictured). Now tell me this isn't worth it. I'll wait."

Coincidentally, I met a Korean woman a couple weeks after visiting who told me that the food is not authentic; I will take her at her word.To me, having only passing familiarity with Korean food, the menu did not seem Americanized in the least. And the only seated table was four Asian people in their 20s speaking what might have been Korean. Only 10 menu items, and none sound particularly approachable to someone who isn't open to Asian food. I would not bring my parents here.I love bibimbap and, since cockle bibimbap was the only option, I tried it. Turns out cockles are like clams and are surprisingly good. Not sure I liked it better than tofu or beef, but I really couldn't complain. The kimchi was spicy, the green beans were even spicier, and the other accessories were all nicely done. I was surprised that the meal came with hot and sour soup - it was very good. We also got the galbi (which I expected to see as kalbi; apparently they are interchangeable transliterations), beef short ribs. Tender, tasty, would definitely order again. They also gave us a few mini pancakes. Loved them!"

They had 2 entrances and we would feel a cold draft whenever one of both doors were opened. 5 stars for the sushi presentation. The tray had a palm tree and some decorations. It was pretty cool. I don't eat sushi but my wife said it tasted really good and the wraps were rolled better than other places. They didn't fall apart when she bit into them. She did say the portions were possibly smaller than normal. Her California roll had 6 slices. She thought the other places give 8 pieces. The prices were comperable, so if that's the case then these were overpriced. I don't eat sushi ever so I don't know what Is normal.I got the hibachi marinated steak. Sukiyaki or something. Sorry I don't remember the exact name. It was delicious and a good amount of food. My issue is, I had a shellfish allergy so I asked if they could cook my food separate and give my wife the 2 pieces of shrimp that normally comes with mine. They cooked it separately but added the shrimp to the top of the vegetables - Defeating the purpose of cooking separately. I pointed it out when the food was delivered. The owner/server took the food back and came back out with my plate which had the vegetables removed. The veggies came out on another plate with the shrimp be stirred in. There was probably miscommunication, but I pointed out the shrimp again and she went and got me a new plate of vegetables. It was a little disappointing, but the food was good and I may be slightly crazy for going to a sea food place with an allergy so I didn't deduct a star. We eventually got on the same page. My wife and I definitely enjoyed this place and will most likely be back next time we're near the island."

It's a mixed bag of a joint though. Like the prices also kind of reflect the experience. The staff are nice, but the place feels more like a run-down Mexican restaurant than a Japanese restaurant. You can't even sit at the sushi bar for some reason. I don't think there's a single Asian working here. The decor and placement of the tables makes absolutely no sense and is kind of abysmal. The booths are like 50s diner. The lighting is kind of all over the place. The music choice was bad. The TVs were playing like weird stock footage. This place has ambiance completely in the gutter. That said, my chef's choice sashimi plate was quite pretty and delicious. Was the rice on point? Not exactly. Was my roll very skillfully put together? It was not. My friend complained that their ramen wasn't definitely not housemade. Maybe stay away from of the could-be-frozen stuff. But you know what, in spite all the flaws the pricepoint for the quality of fish you get was excellent and the plating for it was quite nice too.
