"Exceptional Sushi. Services is polite, genuine, and prompt. Warm Asian atmosphere. Their hand made sushi rolls and Udon noodle bowls are extraordinary."
"Great ambiance; professional staff...white glove service. Food was delicious except the lamb chops, ordered medium but it just did not taste good and I've had lamb chops from all over. Al through my check was over $1400 I will go back to Joe Muer."

"Second time here - always such a fantastic experience. Great sushi, intimate, lively vibe, good service, and adjacent to downtown Royal Oak. This visit we came for their happy hour, which happens daily even on the weekends (with varying hours). As we came early evening, we were seated quickly- but the restaurant filled quickly and there was soon a lengthy wait for tables by the time we finished. We didn't order any cocktails this time, but we did get their green matcha tea which was solid. We ordered:- tuna tartare tacos - hamachi crudo- hot crab rolls - Mountain Dew roll- spicy salmon crunch roll- crispy rice crab rangoonOur favorites were the hot crab roll and the crispy rice crab rangoon - so so good. Sushi rolls were solid, hamachi crudo was a bit small, and the tuna tartare tacos were a bit heavy on spicy mayo and pickled jalapeños. That said, we have no regrets. We even got doubles of things we liked. On my last visit, I came for my birthday and the desserts are on point, especially the warm butter cake. Highly recommend Ronin in Royal Oak for a nice, fun sushi evening out."
"Oyaki Sushi is a delicious place I stumbled across for lunch in Dearborn. The appetizer tempura vegetables was cooked to perfection. I opted for a couple sushi rolls- Rainbow & Alaskan. The fish was so fresh and yummy, this is my new favorite! We got the Kalbi & the Chicken Teriyaki for our entree, so yummy! The service was top notch, the ambiance cozy & inviting. Stop by Oyaki when in the area, they are amazing!"
"Wow, it's been a long time since I had my one and only experience here, and after seeing an ad for them, I was reminded of my previous good experience. It was SO GOOD!! I have pics of everything we got, but we got a good variety. Everything was such a good version of itself. The miso soup was fresh tasting and had a variety of flavors to it with the seaweed and green onions. The sweet and sour chicken was crispy, and the pineapple and carrots had awesome flavor to them. The fried rice has a tasty bbq flavor to them, where you can tell it was fried on a hibachi. Not much chicken in it, but this wasn't bothersome to us. My 4 year old ate the fried rice for the first time and said it's her favorite rice! The sizzling green beans were SO crunchy and had such a perfect, tasty sauce. Chicken was quality and sliced thin. The sushi knocked it out of the park for all the rolls. We can't wait to go back! It's not the closest but it's our official default."
"The portion sizes are wonderful and it's a great time if you sit at the table and enjoy the antics of the chefs when you are served your meal. The food is just as you want it and they make everyone at the table laugh and have a great time, even with the people that you don't know! I have to say it's a fun experience and one of the largest portion sizes for hibachi place in the area. This is not some stuffy location. You'll see all different types of people eating here and they make sure that you enjoy your food and that everything is great for you. The drinks are phenomenal. They have quite a variety of offerings and you will not be disappointed."
"Today was my first time in several years and since I was out that way I thought I'd try it again! On my past visits I had tried some of their Japanese dishes and sushi and I remembered that they were pretty good! Today I had their beef bibimbap and it was also pretty tasty. They did serve it with some banchan which was nice. This is a place I'd go back to more often if I lived in the area. I'm rounding up a bit based on my memory too! Food: 4.5/5Service: 5/5Atmosphere: 4.5/5"
"I stopped in to try the sushi pizza that's been getting a lot of coverage among my friends. When I went in, I was seated quickly. They have great customer service. There was a fair amount of seating available, and I was allowed to switch to the area I wanted to sit in which I appreciated. This restaurant is decorated nicely. I got my order pretty quickly. The sushi pizza is very tasty. I think they were a little heavy on the artificial crab. I think it has good flavor and a very crunchy crust. I would definitely order something different next time. I wanted to try it and once was enough."
"WOW! Wow Sushi is a hidden gem of Troy. Their menu has a ton of options and has images of every roll they sell! The sushi rolls were fresh and tasty! The meal came with a free small cucumber appetizer as well."
"Great service at the bar! My brother recommended this place from his time here in the Mid-90's. The gumbo is fire and so is the crawfish etoufee covered catfish! Tom and Patrick will take good care of you!"
"I was pleasantly surprised with Take Sushi.Prices are pretty good. I love that they had scallops, it's like eating a cloud. The fried tofu was good, they use silken tofu, I prefer extra firm tofu. They use white miso for soup, I'm used to the yellow and red which have a stronger flavor. Even though I'm used different flavors, I really enjoyed my lunch. They have a lovely delicate balance throughout the menu. There was even a few Korean items on the menu."
"Came here with my wife for a day after Valentine's Day dinner. We love splurging and going out to Inyo every February. It's a tradition for us.We started with an old fashioned (me) and a Princess Martini (her.) Tonight's dinner was amazing. She had two kinds of shrimp rolls and I did the Chef's Choice option which resulted in five different really delicious rolls. It's a great deal and I could literally taste the chef's passion and creativity in each roll.It was a great date night for us!"

I love the grilled fish combo that comes with a big bowl of udon. It's one of the few places with delicious grilled salmon belly. There is also an option to order grilled fish without the rice and udon.I was less impressed with my chirashi bowl. I wish it came with more fish. You can get a slightly better sushi deal down the road at One World Market. Service is friendly. Please be aware that this is a takeout restaurant only.

Wanted to have a nice dinner in downtown Detroit. This place was highly recommended to us by gentlemen at the cigar lounge. Fried Calamari was so tender and perfectly fried. I wish the sauce would have been a bit more on the spicy side. But overall was delicious. Lobster bisque was the best thing that I had at this restaurant. So creamy and full of seafood flavor. I would have ordered a second bowl if time would have allowed. Crab stuffed flounder was good. Not great. Crab was bland with some shell pieces in it. The flounder was cooked perfectly golden brown. The sauce was really good! Side dish was truffle fries. They were good just smaller shoestring cut. Carrot cake desert not pictures was amazing!" I took it to go. Icing was very creamy, and Candied walnuts were a nice topping. Location in the heart of downtown in the GM building was easy to get to. Right in the water! Nice view of our Canadian neighbors..Parking is across the street in public parking garage.

Every single dish was a hit. Loved every single dish we got. Went during happy hour and got a few small plates. Recommend the crispy rice and the fries. My favorite dish they make here and it's unique is the crispy rice sushi. It is super crispy and done perfectly that no other restaurant has.The wait can be long if you go during peak hours. We went around 5:30 and had to wait a bit. It got super busy after we left.

I decided to try Tai Fai after seeing a few tik tok videos. It's located in a small strip mall and easy to overlook. I went on Saturday night and it was crowded. I'm glad I placed my order ahead of time because the orders were coming in fast. I ordered the crab meat wontons & spring rolls as my appetizer. Both were crunchy and full of flavor. I didn't care for the sauce that came with them but they really didn't need a sauce. The rolls are served in a beautiful box that makes you think of an upscale restaurant. I ordered the crunch roll and a red dragon roll. I was pleasantly surprised at how good everything tasted. I will be back and have already told my friends to give them a try.

This is a classic sushi and hibachi spot that I've been going to for years. They are typically a safe option for walk in and have a fantastic sushi menu. The service is really attentive and the food comes fast. If I'm ever in the Royal Oak area, this is definitely a go to spot for me if I'm craving sushi!

We have been coming here regularly for 12 years now, about 1-2 times a month, and have never had a bad meal. The dining room has plentiful seating, and you will be waited on by multiple servers that have all been there for a long time. I love the open feel of the dining room and both tables and booths are comfortable. I recommend the beef bibimbap which comes out in a hot stone bowl. We also enjoy the chicken katsu, and their fresh made sushi. The veggie deluxe roll is a fan favorite. Do not hesitate to stop in for a great meal.

The avocado spiral is a beautiful, tasty, work of art that would outweigh any cons for this restaurant, but I cannot think of any cons at this time! Try the spiral, it will not disappoint. I have been here many times for dine in and carry out, service has always been helpful and kind.

"Went here for our company Christmas lunch. Really enjoyed myself. The food was good and the teppanyaki chef was very entertaining. I started with the edamame, very fresh. I had a house salad very good lettuce was crisp and dressing was good. My course was shrimp and steak. Both prepared properly. The rice was good. The vegetables were very fresh. I really liked the ginger sauce. The chef was flipping food for me to catch it was fun. All in all a very good time."
"Sukho Thai is a hidden gem for sushi lovers! I recently ordered six #31 vegetable rolls and a 3-piece spring roll, and the freshness of the sushi blew me away. What's even better is how accommodating they are with gluten-free requests - they've never hesitated to ensure my food is safe to enjoy.Their attention to detail and the quality of their ingredients make every meal a delightful experience. Whether you're gluten-free or not, this spot is perfect for fresh, flavorful sushi and fantastic service. I highly recommend Sukho Thai to anyone in search of great food and excellent care."
"Best hibachi in town. Garlic noodles, fried rice and your choice of protein. Don't know if they use margarine or butter, but it's a favorite. If going in for dinner, put in a reservation. The entrance has a Japanese motif that's pretty relaxing."
"Delicious! I ate here with my daughter and the service was attentive and prompt. Noise level is average and not annoying. Can't wait to return. Oishi!"
"Food is a tad expensive but it's always wonderful. Staff has always been kind and the menu is pretty vast (lots of vegetarian options too). Service is quick and food is cooked quick as well."
"I truly love a reliable strip mall sushi place and Sapporo is just that.If I ever have an errand I have to do in the area, I make it a point to work in a visit here. It's off John R. Road, which I have a theory that that road is a lay lie for excellent food. I have been there four times now or so. I choose them over other fast/casual or fancy spots, especially for lunch as they have excellent lunch specials. Is the sushi the best I have ever had? No, but it is the best I've found in the metro Detroit area for the price. The last time I went, I think the shrimp and the tuna were a little meh, but the Esocolar and Salmon were excellent. They accidentally gave me the chicken katsu when I was there last and I ate it while waiting for my sushi special. I would put their katsu against Ima Izakaya, for half the price, it was at least as good. Their tempura, seaweed salad, and miso are all very good and they have a good house sake as well as Japanese beers. Kampai!"
"I've been here several times over the years and it is one of my favorites sushi spots. The sushi chef is wonderful. Every visit I ask for the freshest sashimi and let him pick it out for me. Every time I am impressed. I also love their kimchee and their hot tea. I always leave full and happy."
"Midtown Shangri-La is my go-to spot when I'm I want authentic and high-quality Cantonese food. Whether it's their incredible dim sum, fresh sushi, or my the sesame chicken dinner with veggie lo mein (which is my go to)--this place never disappoints. The food is always fresh, and you can taste it in the quality of the chicken. The sesame chicken is perfectly cooked with a flavorful, crispy coating, and the lo mein is loaded with fresh veggies. The atmosphere is welcoming and homey, making it the perfect place for a comforting meal. If you haven't been, I highly recommend giving it try. One of the owners, Mr. Wong is the best and the service is also super friendly and knowledgeable! You won't regret it!"
"Great fast service Mini salad was delicious with this crèmy ginger salad dressingI ordered the Okonomiyaki and it didn't disappoint. The sauce was great. Smooth and creamery sweet."
"3 1/2 stars. Our third time here, but for dine in. The onion soup did not have the mushrooms, so they took it and added some. It was good and hot.The Tempura Yum Yum was good, but most of the batter was gone with the ends having most of the batter. But what took me back was the less than half size serving of soft shell crab, $10.95. One side was about three partial legs and no body. The other side was a slight part of the body and more partial legs. It was constructed on the plate like "Bad Bad LeRoy Brown" jig saw puzzle with quite a few pieces missing. I did let the floor know about that.Bibimbap was consistent. This time, the eggs were sunnyside up, a good thing, rather than fried. The rice had a good crisp. The BBB sauce was kinda marginal, so my kid asked for yum yum sauce. A guy behind the sushi counter said something kinda snappy to the server. The server replied back in a calmer tone. A few minutes later, my other kid asked for the same sauce. It was about half the size of a shot glass. I figured out the conversation was to make sure we were charged each 1/2 shot glass of sauce, dollar each. But they both enjoyed the bowls, though. The Tempura Yum Yum was good, but most of the batter was gone with the ends having most of the batter. The Bulgogi Bento was on the spot just as the same as the carryout. All good. Everything that should have batter, had batter and fried perfectly. I almost finished everything. The servers are pretty nice keeping things moving. After thinking we had the one, it's back to carry out and visiting different places. After feeling like being nickled and dimed on a $90 bill, maybe that concern should have been on the sorry soft shell crab quality."
"I mean the food was pretty good on and off the past few years. But holy cow look at that spam musubi. Inflation must have hit the spam market pretty hard. Just make them at home yourself."
"I definitely recommend Tiger Lily for special occasion celebrations, self-care extravaganzas, girl's night out, and intimate date nightsI celebrated my birthday there this week. The ambience, the food and the recommendations and friendliness of the waitress made the visit so much more special.Everyone was well pleased. We ordered several items on the menu and shared many of the dishes.Standouts for me were the rosè sake, the Tiger Lily roll, the wagu Shikotsu roll, and the lobster skewers. I thought that other sushi rolls could've used a little more flavor, perhaps adding a hint of something to the rice.I love the esthetics. The dining area is very classy and chic while the bathroom is bright and fun.It gave business in the front and party in the back vibes. The waitress brought out a slice of passionfruit chocolate cake for my birthday. It was dark, rich, and decadent with bright orange kumquats and a sparkler. It was festive, fun and very delicious!I am adding Tiger Lily to one of my favorite places to dine in the area."
"I can't believe I've waited so long to review this spot, because I don't think it gets enough love as a go to spot around town. This is a fantastic spot with great food, great atmosphere and amazing service. I'm drawing a lot of this from memory, and the way my memory is the fact it stands out should be proof enough of how much I enjoyed. I think we were here either on opening day or maybe the next day, so the first thing to notice is that it was great from the get go. There wasn't a breaking in period, a slow start, a disco ball falling from the sky onto a crowd of coked up partiers.... oh wait that was Club 54 in 1978 (probably). Walking in, the restaurant is beautiful, like walking into a Japanese dream. Lanterns light and hang in multitudes throughout the restaurants, offering a soft glow that is great for dinner but not so great for the picture taking ;). Sitting down, we were greeted very quickly and placed a saki bomb order to start the night. Being an Izakaya, we were able to order several dishes to get a wide variety dishes to try. The curry rice was my favorite, I can mainly say this with great confidence because that's the only one I remember the name. Outside of that I do believe I enjoyed everything except the fried chicken, and not because it was bad, but because there was nothing unique to it. It was like popcorn chicken you could get anywhere. I will not mark them down for this though because everything was an A+ experience. I do wish I had written this review sooner, so the lack of detail is on me, not them. Go here and enjoy."
"Great place for Japanese and Filipino foods. Freshly made sushi, salad and ramen. Great service as well as ambiance."
"First visit to Experience ZUZU and it did not disappoint. Had an early evening out. We opted to try several mocktails, which tasted fantastic. We share quite a few items, crispy rice, gyoza, crispy tempura fries, and mains yaki udon with beef, and the jalapeno hamachi. There was plenty of food and we left with left overs. We will be back. There is an automatic gratuity added, which is not a big deal as it is more and more common these days, but could be a surprise to some."
"As authentic as you can get. Sushi made right, sashimi melts in your mouth. So fresh and delightful. As walk in guests, we were still seated promptly. Everyone else had reservations and we werent sure if we could dine in (or we would have gone to Library) but we gave it a shot and was surprisingly pleased to get a table with very minimal wait time. Ambience is lively and noise level is just enough for a good conversation. Service and hospitality is the much appreciated. Host was accommodating. Our server was attentive and kind. Truly impressed and will be coming back."
"If you want extremely affordable, high quality sushi, go here. This is not only the best quality sushi in the area, it is somehow the most affordable when it comes to the basic rolls (tuna avocado roll, salmon roll etc.).Like it is cheaper than rolls from a Grocery Store with far far greater quality! I think they're able to do this because of their very, very low overhead.Whenever I want sushi, I come here, and am never disappointed. One of the best values in all of Detroit!P.S. They'll let you sit in the back of the restaurant for a take out order if you ask"
"This local sushi spot does not disappoint. They are located in a plaza on square lake and Livernois. The inside isn't very big and they seem to do more takeout than dine in for the past few years. Prices are reasonable. I only order the veggie rolls. Avocado, AAC, sweet potato tempura, and a shiitake one that isn't on the DoorDash or take out menu. I've had the salad before but the ginger dressing was watery and so I wouldn't recommend that. Overall, great takeout sushi option IMO."
"Great location! Upscale asian decor with a full sushi bar. The sushi rolls are good, sashimi was well prepared and fresh. The star today was the udon - oh my word. Give me a to go container just of the broth! Deep, rich flavor.. the noodles were perfect. Thick, with a good chew and seasoned well. Definitely will be back!"
"I had the veggie spring rolls, ginger salad and veggie sushi and sweet potato sushi. I was the only one in the restaurant but it was early. The service was fast and attentive. I had the mango mochi ice cream for dessert. My only con with this restaurant is that they do not serve any alcohol."
"Very modern korean/japanese restaurant. Amazing food, service is great, very nice people. Will definitely come back again!"
"This place is quite different from the Canton locale. Less Thai food for sure. No worries because I was taking my sister for a bento box specifically. It's more crowded and seems a lot less put together than Canton, too.The food was very good. We all got a shrimp tempura bento with a fried California roll for a dollar upcharge. Good salad and miso soup to start. The tempura veggies were crispy and delish. Good sides of spring roll, shumai and dumplings. Oranges were fresh. Shrimp was excellent, and even the rice was nicely done.Service was fine. Fountain drinks were watery. I should have gotten tea. Somehow, it just felt cheaper here atmosphere wise. I would come back but I'd much rather visit the more serene other location with more variety. This will do nicely in a pinch."
"The photo speaks volumes as it to pertains to the owner of said establishment. Who would want to spend $ in his pockets w/a smart ass comment as such, not me. Service is slow, staff has no etiquettes, perhaps the owner can invest in some courses for not only themself but for employees, he has the spot to do it and it would be good for the generation that works there, so sad how slow they move. I grew up in a world if you're just standing there doing absolutely nothing maybe grab some paper towel and do some cleaning, perhaps the splotchy bathroom mirrors because that place sure could use some dusting. Sadly the south end of SCS has gone South, originally an east side no longer and so glad I'm not. This place is a dump !!"
